This Marriott is beautiful, and even has it's own chapel which is something to see. Very old and grand, clean and friendly staff. Dog friendly, but there is nowhere to sit inside with the dogs if you want a drink. But they did welcome us and the dogs and made us feel very welcome and even showed us a choice of rooms. My only annoyance was when I wanted […] to take a coffee upstairs and the late night reception staff told me they would bring it up, when I said I'd wait they said no, they would bring it up, so I let them, and they literally followed me up, and then charged me £3.50 on top of my coffee charge for the privilege. Small amount but a little annoying when I was there waiting for it. The hotel itself is relatively expensive, but it is beautiful, and boasts wonderful scenery, and the little pub at the end of the road does wonderful meals. Would definitely visit again. My wife and I stayed at this lovely hotel last weekend and had a really fantastic stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and warm (even if the weather wasn't - it snowed!) and went out of their way to accomodate our requests. In particular, we asked for a variation to the vegetarian option at the main restuarant which was happily met (including the […] chef coming out to chat to us about our preferences!). The food in the Zodiac restuarant was really delicious and beautifully presented with the staff extremely attentive. We had a great table just by the fire in the restuarant and continued our evening in front of the roaring log fire in the Oak Hall over a cup of tea. The spa was everything we had hoped for although the jacuzzi was a bit small with not very powerful jets! We liked the relaxation area with free tea/coffee etc and a good selection of papers/magazines. The grounds are very pretty and we were lucky enough to be able to wander across the golf course as it was too cold for anyone to be playing (but please note if the weather is better there is less area for a wander, although in the Summer months we are sure the walled garden would be very pretty). Our room was very comfortable and generally met our request for a quiet room in terms of distance from the function rooms etc - however, the walls are far from soundproof as we heard every squeal and shriek from the family with three children in the room next door. We had dinner in the Oak Grill on the second night which was okay but not up to the standard of the Zodiac, but I guess you get what you pay for (it was less than half the price!). This is a great place to visit and just under an hour from North London where we live - highly recommended! Had a wonderful weekend break staying at Hanbury Manor. The staff were fantastic throughout the stay, always helpful and pleasant. Would definitely recommend this hotel as it has a spa, indoor pool and golf facilities.

This is not exactly the most convenient location as you will need a car to get anywhere so unless you have one, you will be captive to the restaurants in the hotel. that being said, the food at the hotel restaurants were pretty decent, especially the buffet breakfast which has a huge spread and decent quality. No complimentary bottled water or internet […] so that works if you really want a getaway. The health club is complimentary with a decent gym and a nice heated pool and separate heated jacuzzi. This lovely old manor-house hotel has lots of character in the central building. The newer wing is fairly bland, but this only contains the bedrooms, and once inside our room, it was pleasantly decorated. But why was it arranged so the TV couldn't be seen from the bed? And why do they have to provide a dumbed-down remote for the TV? There were plenty […] of aux inputs round the back, but no way of selecting them.. so rather than plugging your laptop in and watching your own film, you'd have to pay to watch one of theirs.. The cost to use the internet is more than I pay for a month at home. Why isn't free these days? You wouldn't expect to pay for water or electricity usage! The request for a slightly later check-out was met with flat refusal. The grounds are lovely, but your enjoyment of them will be limited as the paths are "for golfers only". These tiny little things just added up to tarnish the sort of welcoming, warm feeling I've had from the really great hotels I've stayed at. Continua a leggere

We had a lovely time at the Hotel. It was very comfortable, clean and had lovely grounds. We felt really pampered.

Lovely hotel, great food, service and atmosphere. Beautiful grounds. Noisy helicopter taking off yards from the hotel spoilt an otherwise tranquil time on the terrace.

A wonderfull hotel and good service but certain areas could do with some TLC to freshen it up for a 5 star hotel. However would recommend and certainly go back.
