l'hotel e' uno dei piu' raffinati anche se un po' datato, il servizio non e' sempre all'altezza della categoria ma le camere sono spaziose e confortevoli, il buffet e' di ottimo livello,anche per la colazione...la posizione e' uno dei suoi mast.

The title says it all. In general Bangkok is one of the best high end value cities in the world I've been to, at least when it comes to hotels. The Peninsula, with it's perfect riverside location & private (free) ferry system, is tops-in-class for this city. Fantastic pool. A huge top floor 1 BR suite with panoramic views goes for about half of what […] you'd pay for something comparable in say Maui (Wailea) or NYC. The only thing I would downgrade them for is the concierge performance. They screwed up a couple things for us (gave bad info to our taxi drivers, etc.). That's why only 4 starts for service. After a wonderful, but sometimes exhausting tour to Laos, through Vietnam and Siem Reap, we were ready for some pampering at the end of our trip. And the Peninsula delivered delightfully: The service and kindness of the employees could not be improved, the pool(s) with gazebos,, the drinks overlooking the river at night, the exotic garden Thai restaurant […] , the convenient and charming river taxis that took us across the river when we had enough energy to venture forth, the terrific buffets, and the comfortable rooms laden with inventive amenities were all designed to make business and recreational travel more comfortable. Even those in our group slightly dubious about a Peninsula splurge, were more than happy that we'd ended our trip on this high and elegant note. Our only caveat was that the otherwise helpful and knowledgeable concierge sent us to some shopping areas that were largely (not entirely) reminiscent of any ordinary US mall before we ended up at the Jim Thomspon silk shops/home, a worthwhile visit for the home visit there.But that's a minor blemish onwhat was otherwise a wonderful stay at a terrific hotel. Superb comfort, superb service and superb rooms. A short ride across the river on the hotel's free ferry service takes you to a SkyTrain stop which has to be the preferred way to get around town (it's air-conditioned and traffic in central Bangkok appears to be permanently gridlocked).

Gridlocked in the morning traffic from the airport, our driver dropped us at Peninsular Pier. Arriving by the hotel's shuttle boat service was a most memorable way to commence a wonderful 5 days at this superb hotel. The Peninsula spares nothing in the way of attention to detail. It's location provides both escape from, and easy access to, the sometimes chaotic life of Bangkok. For all it's great qualities, we found the concierge service somewhat lacking. Requests for restaurant recommendations were met by reference to standard "guides" not personal experience […] or knowledge. Also they seemed unaware of the many "local" Thai outdoor open air seafood restaurants scattered around the city, many of which provide both excellent food at moderate prices to an unusual experience. Excellent hotel. The staff is incredible, and will do anything to make the guest happy. The boat service is great and will accommodate any destination you desire. I think it is probably one of the best hotels we ever frequented and we have been to many five star properties.

Pretty much everything about the hotel was great. The location is across the river from a lot of tourist sites, but the regular boat shuttle service made it easy to get around, so it wasn't really an issue. The restaurants were excellent, service was friendly and helpful - great concierge service to book excursions - and the rooms were clean, well laid […] out, well sound-insulated and spacious. The Peninsula Hotel,Bangkok is first class all the way.The staff are exceptional and go out of their way to ensure that the guests are satisfied and enjoying their stay. We enjoy the balcony rooms which are located in the centre of the hotel with great views of the Chao Phraya river. There's always something to view on the river, whether it's the hotels […] boats ferrying guests or the huge barges plying their wares or the colourful long boats or public ferries. Very nice staff. Great views of the river. Convenient transportation. The hotel provides boat service to go back and forth across the river to take BTS. Only disappointment was that we booked the Klong tour and got up early to wait for the tour guide but nobody showed up.

We've stayed at other places in Bangkok but nothing matches the Peninsula. If you are staying in Bangkok the best location is on the river - great for the ferry boats to many places of interest. Plus the Peninsula runs constant ferry across the River - to the Oriental hotel (wonderful location for romantic dinner watching the river activity) and to […] the Skytrain stop (very handy). Weather in November can be wet - we had a few thunderstorms. Someone who had just arrived from Phuket said "We had no rain" - but now we are on the island of Phuket Tuesday, 27th Nov (the rainy season should be over) - we had torrential rain all day and heavy 3 or 4 hours of rain every day. One of the finest hotels I have ever stayed at, and a fantastic rate as well. The room was very large, very well appointed, and had a great 180 degree view of the river. The pool facilities were outstanding and we had a great dinner at the Chinese restaurant.

The hotel and all the staff are the best, only problem we found was that the hotel is the wrong side of the river if you want to do anything and the hotel shuttle service stops at midnight

I have stayed in many top hotels in Asia, and this is definitely one of the best i have seen. Everything was absolutley top notch to the last detail, everywhere you look! No expenses spared. This was truly awesome. The facilities and the staff make you feel like a VIP throughout your stay. One small example - At the day of check out our flight was […] around midnight - not only the staff was mindful to that detail upon check in , but they also appologized they couldnt give us the late checkout option (due to room availability), and offered full access to the hotel facilities (SPAs etc.) throughout the day, as long as we needed. Spacious room with great river view (9th floor). Every imaginable convenience, including a fax machine. Fresh fruit daily. Friendly, helpful staff everywhere. Lavish breakfast buffet - so lavish we only had breakfast once as the heat meant we didn't really eat that much. Impeccably clean pool and surroundings. Can't wait to go back!

We had a great time here. We looked around at other resorts, and came to the conclusion that we made the right choice. The location, staff, pool and resort itself was so perfect. The spa is not the best that we have been to. But overall, this is the place to stay. The location was perfect. Very convenient to everywhere we wanted to go.

We stayed here a couple of years ago and it seems to have slipped a bit. The welcome was not as friendly. It was impossible to get hot coffee and tea at breakfast time. The rooms are outstanding but need a little updating.

We thought a lot before staying at the Peninsula. Hotels are so cheap and generally so nice in SE Asia that it seems expensive. But the hotel is so amazing that it is worth the price (and less than half what the Peninsula would cost in the states.) The rooms are amazing. This is the best hotel my husband and I have ever stayed in - beautiful, clean, excellent food and presentation, and the staff goes consistently above and beyond the call of duty. I have never felt so pampered and comfortable. We booked two tours through the hotel concierge, had the same private tour guide (Mr. Pong), and enjoyed every minute of our […] adventures. Another tour that the hotel assisted me in booking to the River Kwai was also excellent and gave me the opportunity to meet other travellers while my husband was working. We were most impressed that they didn't charge us for room service for the two days my husband ordered room service for breakfast before the buffet opened due to his work schedule. They said that they saw breakfast was included in our rate, and left it at that! I can't say enough about this hotel - outstanding! The experience was wonderful. It's slightly out of the way (the other side of the river from the main action) but the distance gives a delightful perspective. One could take the ferry boat just for the romance. Would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at The Peninsula Bangkok on many occasions. It draws us back to Bangkok over and over again. Every time we walk into the serene foyer and surroundings we feel as if we have come "home". It is a piece of paradise within a very chaotic and vibrant city. The staff are brilliant and no matter which catagory room you choose, every one of them […] has a brilliant river view. Therefor you never have a "bad room". In house restaurants are lovely especially the Thai restaurant "Thiptara". The pool is so inviting that its difficult to drag yourself away to do other things. Stay was absolutely amazing! I have stayed at many 5star hotels all around the globe, but the Peninsula was probably the best. Got upgraded to a suite for only little more. Amamzing!! Staff was wonderful. Everything perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will come back soon.
