"Motel 6 Washinton DC"Inviato da Marco di "Rimini" il 3 dic 2011
La permanenza è stata molto piacevole, lo staff è molto cortese e le stanze molto pulite; si trova in una zona periferica ma in un quartiere residenziale tranquillo con una fermata della metro (Takoma) a pochi minuti a piedi oppure sempre dalla stazione metro il bus 52 ferma proprio difronte Motel 6. Il parcheggio è gratuito ed anche l'uso della postazione internet.

"Cheap, but you get what you pay for"
If you have the extra $10 - $15 a day, then go elsewhere. For the money the room was clean and breakfast was OK. But the place did smell inside & outside. Good place for hardhats or truckers. Beware of apartment complex behind hotel, so ladies do not get a room in the back.

I really wasn't expecting it to be a great hotel, and I was right, but it was ok. Some of the lights in the room didn't work. The bathroom light didn't work, so that made it hard to see in the bathroom. The bathroom was to small. The bathroom sink had a leak which kept the carpet wet, we had to keep a towel on the floor. The temperature in the room […] was difficult to control, it was either too hot or too cold. Everything else was ok. Continua a leggere
"Great service"
We were afraid that we won't like our room by judging from the outside of the hotel. We expressed our concern to the front desk employee. She could not accommodate any change, as we had made a reservation through www.hotels.com. But as soon as we checked in, she checked to ensure that we liked our room. We thought that was very nice of her. The room […] was not that bad, but the heater was not great. At the highest setting the hot air blowing out the heater was lukewarm and we had to wait a long time to have a room warmed up. Continua a leggere
We wanted a King bed and the front desk said there was only one left when we got there. I told them i wanted the king bed but when we got into our room, the bath vanity area light switch was broken so I had to put on my makeup and wash my face in the dark. Not good
Building is older, very basic. So is the furniture, condition of the room. Don't expect any frills. However, it was clean (priority #1 for me) and the room was pretty spacious. Plus, I got a really good rate online.
Clean, comfortable room. Helpful staff. Breakfast oke; could use bigger cups for coffee. Would stay here again.
"Cheap but acceptable"
Your basic motel, but everything works. Good value for money.
"Convention Stay"
After a few minor glitches with room sheduling for a small convention, the friendly staff did a superb job of making our 4 night stay a good one. They made a great effort working with our specific convention needs to make for a very successful meeting. We noted the hotel person in charge of the convention coming around frequently to check on our progress. Well […] done Continua a leggere
"Decent budget hotel"
I was not expecting much based on the reviews and price of this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, continental breakfast was included, and my room was clean and well-maintained. Apparently, some rooms have microwave/refrigerator units, but I did not stay in one of those. In contrast to a more-expensive hotel I recently […] stayed in, the towels were soft and relatively new, and the bathroom had a working ventilation fan. The only negative part of the experience was that there was a fairly strong smell of cleaning products when I first opened the door, but a little time with the fan on cleared out most of it. The breakfast coffee cups were also minuscule, but most people do not need to drink their coffee out of buckets like I do. Weirdly, the room had a dining table, but no desk. I guess I'm used to staying in more business-traveler oriented hotels, though. I would recommend this hotel to people who were trying to find somewhere inexpensive to stay near DC -- it isn't particularly long in amenities, but it did everything it promised to. Also, don't try to make a left onto Route 1 from the parking lot. Turn left onto Cherokee street instead and take Rhode Island Avenue south to Greenbelt Road or 193. You'll have an extra hour to do whatever it was you were planning. Continua a leggere
"excellent"
I spent 4 days at the hotel for a conference at UM campus. the place is clean, although the room smell a bit, no windows, but air conditioning clears it all quickly. walking distance to campus although it may take about 15-20 minutes. overall I certainly recommend.
"the hotel in collage park in maryland"
The lobby smelled like cat urine!!! The room was nice except for the blood on the curtins and the dust. The locks needed the screws tightened. Staff was not very frendly nor were the very helpful. The breakfast was not very good.
"You get what you pay for..."
... and I don't mean that in a negative sense. It's a good place to stay, rooms were quiet. It's low cost, but you do get value for your cash. You can take Bus 86 to the metro (something you'd think the hotel staff would know, but they didn't) for $1.70; much cheaper than the $14 cab fare. One other point, DO NOT use Super Shuttle if you're arriving […] from Dulles or Baltimore, that was a disaster. Figure out another way to get to and from the hotel. Continua a leggere
I have reserved a non-smoking room but when we were checking in I was checked in a smoking room. I spoke a manager on duty but was told that that was a non-smoking room. Back and forth didn't get any results. I had to stay in that room, and smell was horrible.
"Location and age"
The "motel" was older and investment maintenance has not been kept. For example the air conditioning units were too small and could not keep up with the need to keep the room cool. It was cooler outside than inside but I didn't feel safe enough in the neighbohood to leave the door open.
"Convenient Hotel"
Howard Johnson Hotel is a good hotel for price. Location is near University of Maryland so it is pretty reasonable regarding restaurants and stores which caters to college students. Hotel reception was pleasant. However, we could not get extra pillows for some reason. Overall it was nice for a one night stay.
"poor"
please beware. very bad neighborhood. keycards malfunction as a rule and not the exception. Overcharged for a 1-2 star motel
Everything I needed in the room was as stated. High speed wireless internet exceeded expectation. Room was clean. Room was a little tired, but better than expected for the $. Limited breakfast, but was great for the $. I needed an inexpensive place to stay & this was perfect.

The Ac in the room was not sufficient at all! Other wise it was ok.
"There for the Bar Exam"
For the reasons I stayed at the hotel, this was better than I expected, especially considering the other reviews on this site. Yes, the location was a little shady, but I think it was just College Park in general. The location was fine, it is right on the main road, down the street from UMD, where I took the Bar Exam. I even managed to study for the […] Bar the night before without any noises or disturbances. The room was very pleasant. The bed was clean (the mattress was covered by a rubber sheet for bed bug reasons probably--to prevent an infestation, not because there were some there) and comfortable. You could set the temperature in your room to your comfort. And the front desk was very helpful in providing anything you might need. I liked actually that the housekeeping tried to maintain the semblance of good service by turning down beds and folding toilet paper. And housekeeping certainly did a great job of cleaning. They even threw away my reusable shopping bags. I complained, but I think it was a reasonable mistake. The room I stayed in also had a microwave and refrigerator, which wasn't shown in the advertisement. The only bad thing was the mean left turn you couldn't take to go to UMD. I just ended up turning right and doing a U-ie in a parking lot. No problems. Continua a leggere

"smelly"
There was a disinfectant (pesticide?) smell that practically knocked us over when we entered the room. We had to air out the room for an hour before we could breathe properly.
"Subway-Station in der Nähe"
Der Standort des Hotels ist für Besucher von Washington DC gut geeignet. In 2 Meilen Entfernung befindet sich eine Subway-Station und kann von dort aus bequem und kostengünstig nach Downtown fahren.
