hotel needs updating and cleaning.

Horrible looking hotel, inside and out. There was never anyone at the service desk. The carpets and ceilings were stained and the rain was pouring into the pool from the ceining above it.!!!!

The room smelled like it had just been sprayed for bugs. The smell was unbearable. The hotel was totally booked and there was not another room to stay in.The room cost a fortune, but staff and management were friendly and professional and did offer some compensation for the very unpleasant situation.

Bed sheets were clean, but stained with blood. Breakfast was "free", but there was no service for this buffet style setup. Plates and food were available, but absolutely nobody was bussing the tables. If you came in late, you had to push aside someone else's plates to have room at a table to eat.

The hotel lobby was reasonably attractive but the corridors were stale smelling and dated looking. Service was friendly and helpful. The rooms are fine and the breakfast was good. The business center's computers weren't connecting to the internet so I couldn't print my boarding pass but we did have wireless access in the room. The shuttle service was […] convenient. The hotel staff were very cordial and helpful. They were the positives of this hotel. The parking lot needs to be redone. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. Also there has to be a solution for the musty smell upon first entering the hotel. Rooms were comfortable and clean

The hotel is an older property and definitely needs a makeover. Parking lot is a mess and the fixtures and finishes have seen better days. Holel staff was polite and courteous and the lounge, restauratant and pool area were clean and comfortable.

I think hotels should be priced according to the services and amenities they provide. I think the Clarion in Ithaca is overcharging for a swimming pool in a room with a leaky roof and dirty floors, guest rooms that are only marginally maintained, and very poor cleaning service: there were black hairs all over the bathroom floor and the toilet was not […] as clean as it should be. On top of all of this, my husband left his $50 heavy duty metal razor and wooden shaving brush there and they apparently just threw it out or a cleaning person stole it. Over $100 worth of personal property that most other hotels would have kept in lost & found and they have not returned our calls to confirm it's gone after 3 different calls asking if they are sure it was lost. The person at check- in was very helpfull in trying to make us comfortable and the staff at breakfast were very accomadating,food great and area clean. The rooms not so good. 1st room smelled musty, 2nd room bathroom not thoroughly clean, 3rd room smelled of smoking, 4th one we stayed in dispite the bathroom left something to be desired... mildue grout […] & dirt in every corner. At midnight there was a dog barking & again 9:30 Sat morning. Carpets throughout dirty. We were tired and didn't have the energy to fight to cancel and find something else. the hotel entrance and corridor are very dirty with dead spiders and insects everywhere. The bedrooms are clean but the rest of the hotel very dirty. I told in the front desk but they don't mind.

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good. Juices seemed to be watered down. Bacon was perfect!! Location was excellent and very close to colleges in area. Room was clean. However, hotel lacked total curb appeal. Half of name did not appear. Overflowing smelly trash can at exit door. Furniture in front lobby was worn […] and ripped. Decor was very out dated. Strongly suggest a multi-year renovation starting with the outside-entrance, lobby, and first floor in initial phase. Continue with rest of building as quickly as time and money permit. Repave parkinglot. You have a lot of visitors to local colleges who would certainly utalize your facility. Continua a leggere

Our stay was from 7/29/11 to 7/31/11. First of all, the parking lot was atrocious. The parking lot was full, so the only spot I could find was in the back where there were potholes about 5 inches deep. Add in the rain water, and the fact that I was wearing sandals, my feet got wet. The carpeting in the hallways was stained, and there was a musty smell […] throughout the entire establishment. Once in the room, it was clear it wasn't worth what we paid. We could only get 2 double beds, which was fine. But the bathroom had MOLD in it! I took many pictures. Also, the bathroom door sits right where your legs would be if you're on the toilet, so you have to go around the door, close it, and then go to the bathroom. The shower head had some nasty gunk stuck in it. There were also stains on the carpet in the room. Breakfast ended before 10am, so after a night of wedding fun and wanting to sleep in, I wasn't able to eat there. Checkout wasn't until 11am. While checking out, we asked the lady at the front desk about the condition of the hotel and showed her the pictures of our room. We explained the hotel wasn't up to par for what we had paid. The room it self was clean, comfortable and acceptable, except the ironing board was broken. The iron did not work. No electrical outlet at the table for use by a laptop. Outlet was at the other side of the t.v. cabinet about ten feet away. Corridor had a smell and interiors were not well maintained. The parking lot in need of replacement. Made reservations late for graduation - was happy to find rooms in Ithaca. The staff was friendly and the hotel was as clean as an old place can be. The hotel needs a major facelift. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. It suited our needs for a place to rest & refresh during a busy weekend of events.

This hotel is long overdue for renovations. Carpeting is dirty, many fixtures don't work. There is a petroleum odor, strongest in the pool area. The parking lot has major potholes.

Hideous location----surrounding is a parking lot with no attempt at rendering sightly e.g. plantings. Beyond that roads and mall

The first thing we noticed upon entering this hotels hallways was the order of urine. I understand that this is a pet friendly hotel but at least they could wash the rugs from time to time. After about an hour in the room we realized the toilet was not working properly and would no longer flush. The problem never was fixed while we where there.This […] hotel needs a major renovation! Adequate room size, small bathroom, needs interior cleaning and restoration. 4 wheel drive helpful in negotiating parking lot. No security on exterior exit doors--always accessible.

For the price, you can not beat this hotel if you are in need of a hotel at Cornell University. Don't be tricked into booking at the Statler Hotel, right on the campus. For $350 a night, it is a RIP OFF! The Clarion is perfect, and is only 2.3 miles from the campus' heart (about 10 minutes) and parking isn't an issue at all. Only downside to this hotel […] is that it needs some sprucing up, but the room was fine; clean, comfortable, and most important, QUIET. The worst part was the parking lot...needs a very desperate repaving...but for $60 a night, I'll deal with it. Also good was that it was very close to County Road 13, which takes one to either Elmira (SW) or to Hamilton (NE), and is also near many stores and shopping center. You can't beat this value! the pool was drained, the exterior of the hotel is ghastly, the whole of the first floor (the smoking level) reeks like an ashtray and it's really quite out of the way, but the staff was friendly and professional and it was the cheapest option i could find...
