Hotel nel tipico stile Art Decò di Miami, ottima la posizione sia per il mare che per la zona pedonale di Miami. La colazione non è il massimo che ci si aspetta negli USA ma ci sono comunque valide alternative. Consigliato

L'hotel è assolutamente adeguato come servizi, ed è in una posizione privilegiata che solo sul posto si può apprezzare: è sul lungomare Ocean Drive (traversando un'area verde si è in spiaggia), a tre minuti a piedi dalle passeggiate più attraenti in zona (Espanola Way, Lincoln Road, la stessa Ocean Drive, ...) ma al tempo stesso è tranquillo in quanto […] non ha un ristorante o locale di ritrovo al piano terra (cosa che invece accade in altri hotel, i cui ospiti sono molto disturbati per tutta la notte). La colazione offerta al mattino (consigliabile, essendo opzionale ma a costo ragionevole) è poco variata da un gg all'altro (cambia solo il tipo di macedonia di frutta fresca), ma abbastanza completa. Lo staff alla reception è molto cordiale e premuroso, senz'altro più dei baristi. Perfetto il servizio di valet parking convenzionato, a pagamento, e proposto senza insistenza all'arrivo, che si rivela efficace e comodissimo per avere sempre l'auto a disposizione senza il problema di parcheggiarla. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati molto bene, dovendo tornare a South Beach senz'altro sceglieremo lo stesso hotel (ne abbiamo visti diversi altri, sul posto, per farci un'idea), e ci sentiamo di consigliarlo a chi desidera un soggiorno per famiglia tranquillo e ben servito (sedie e teli mare in dotazione, biancheria impeccabile pulita ogni giorno), in posizione invidiabile su un tratto di spiaggia tropicale che non si può dimenticare. L'albergo è sulla spiaggia, comodo perchè basta attraversare la strada. Situato in posizione abbastanza tranquilla le camere sono pulite. In dotazione sul comodino ci sonoi tappi per le orecchie per chi avesse il sonno leggero. Sconsiglio la stanza vicino all'ascensore in quanto si viene disturbati. Giusto per una vacanza di mare. Posizione assolutamente strategica,sia x chi desidera essere ad un passo dalla spiaggia che per chi vuole trovarsi nel mezzo della movida sulla mitica Ocean Drive!Allo stesso tempo ,però,le camere risultano silenziose e tranquille.Pulizia ottima.Teli mare e buona prima colazione.Ci ritornerei assolutamente!

L'albergo si trova in una posizione molto comoda, all'inizio dell'Ocean drive, per cui a due passi (davvero due) dai vari ristoranti, ma fuori dalla confusione notturna. Le camere sono pulite dotate di ferro da stiro ed asse, phon (importamtissimo perchè gli elettrodomestici italiani in America sono lentissimi), sedie sdraio, cassaforte, aria condizionata […] che può essere spenta e televisore, ma manca il frigobar. La colazione è abbastanza soddisfacente. Alla reception sono tutti molto gentili, qualcuno parla anche italiano, forniscono informazioni e hanno persino permesso a dei ragazzi che abbiamo conosciuo lì di venire a fare la colazione nel nostro albergo in cambio di una mancia irrisoria, dispensando informazioni varie anche a loro che non erano clienti diretti. The room was very small. The light didnt work on the night stand only a bright light on the fan that you could not dim. The fan didnt work and the ac was not blowing hard at all. The noise in the hall from people coming and going was very loud at all times.

The location was really good. Very close to everything. Easy to get to by bus. The rooms are very small, I had read about that in the previous reviews so was not surprised. The bathrooms are even smaller. The door and the shower door collided when open at the same time. There is no where to put any stuff at all. The air conditioner was really loud as […] well as the elevator (our room was right by the elevator). There was no continental breakfast as stated by Hotels.com, just an overpriced restaurant. And the restaurant out front made it nearly impossible to get in the front door without dodging the entire wait staff just standing in the way. A year ago, we had visited South Beach and were taken with how open the front of the Winterhaven seemed, how open the lobby was, that is why we decided to stay there this year, but in a quest to use every square inch for money making, they have bogged down the front like every other place on the beach. If you're looking for a big room and bathroom this is not for you - but if you want the Art Deco experience of a smaller hotel with lots of funky style then you'll love this. Hotel windows cannot be opened. Temperature of airco cannot be changed. Room gets very cold, therefore airco turned off, but during the night it gets too warm, so airco to be turned on and then it gets too cold again. Room very small, bathroom also very small. Great Hotel, good value, just taken over by new management we are told, reception was very nice and helpful, bedrooms clean, new and stylish, even though it's a 1930's building, it felt like staff cared about the place. This was my 4th time to stay at the Winter Haven. I keep going back because the location is perfect, but I've always wished the rooms were a little nicer and the staff would be a little more friendly and helpful. Well, I've finally gotten my wish. The hotel has been remodeled and the rooms are super nice now. And I was surprised at how professional […] and helpful the staff were. Front desk quickly resolved issue I had with the prepaid reservation. My only complaint is that there is no ice machine anywhere in the hotel. But there is an ice bucket in my room??? First time out here.. Wasn't getting in till 5:30 in the morning si didn't want to spend to much money for a few hours to lay my head down. Check in was quick and friendly. Beds were super comfortable and room was clean got all my monies worth and more. The hotel is in the heart of south beach but in a quiet place and just in front of the beach. The room is clean, with a renovated bathroom. Staff is very nice.

Its a good place to stay if your not there very long, I only have two issues with hotel one, that the hotel did not have a vending machine ( yes so staying here your going to have to walk eight blocks to walgreens or drink Miami's nasty tap water. Secondly there is no pool at the hotel.

We loved our all-too-short stay at Winter Haven - a perfect location on Ocean Drive, a beautiful art deco hotel that is wonderfully maintained and with great, tasteful decor that matches the hotel's exterior - I felt transported back to the 1930's in the best way possible. My family loved the Winter Haven! It's a nice Art Deco hotel that has been recently restructured. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms smelled clean (yes, there were a few spots on the carpet, but nothing I would consider a deal breaker), the bathrooms are brand new, the staff was really nice (particularly, Mariya, I hope I spelled that right!). […] We did valet parking for our cars, but there is a public parking a few blocks away. The location is great: right across from the ocean and Lummus Park (you can see the palms from the hotel lobby), within walking distance to Lincoln Road and Espanola Way. We had children with us and we felt the area immediately close to the hotel was really safe (we did not go out very late at night, though). The hotel has a deck on the 6th floor with a nice view on the area and the ocean. The front porch is a great place to people-watch. Breakfast was fine, although they might have needed a few more tables. There were bagels, muffins, cereals, pastries, milk, coffee, tea, yogurt and fruit. Had an absolute wonderful stay at the Winter Haven hotel which is located just across the ocean. Walking distance to all the best restaurants and night festivities. Arrived on 7/4 and watched the fireworks on the beach. When we checked in the people at the front desk gave us information on great places to eat. The food was excellent. The modest $10/day […] fee which is for snacks, towels, and internet was great just for the internet. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was a little small w/shower only. Had a problem with a jack hammer on Friday morning starting at 7:30 which was not pleasant. The hotel is still undergoing some renovations and is putting in a kitchen. When I mentioned the noice to the front desk - they had Brandon (the manager) contact me. He apologized and gladly took off the $40 fee for my entire stay, plus when I got back to the room, there were two bottles of wine, 2 bottles of Figi water and cookies. This was a nice touch. Any questions I had, the folks at the front desk were happy to help. There is also a very nice top floor patio w/outside shower that I didn't know about until my last day. Very happy with the hotel and definately planning a return trip very soon to stay again at the Winter Haven hotel. Continua a leggere
