Very shortly after checking in and unpacking my gear in my room an unholy noise reverberated from the bathroom. It sounded like an ogre had indulged in a belly-filling feast of legumes, cabbage, broccoli, and onions. The sounds were explosive, symphonic, and rattled the nerves. They would randomly come and go, at least 2 to 4 an hour. This happened: all... […] night... long.... When I went to leave the hotel I was told that I was already checked-out. The response from the lady behind the desk was abrupt and unapologetic. I do not understand how a modern hotel could make that kind of mistake. I hope the ogre in the wall had nothing to do with it. This hotel was in a great location for downtown shopping. We were happy to get an upgraded room upon our arrival. It Would have been nice also get the upgraded service. I just wanted a bathrobe and they wouldn't give me one. The lady in the spa was nice enough to lend me one. Overall not a bad experience.

i have stayed here 8 times in the last year and i wont stay anywhere else the location is wonderfull staff is awesome and the rooms clean and comfortable and for downtown vancouver the price cant be beat cant wait till next time love it

I've stayed at this hotel before, and love its location and amenities, including a decent coffee shop and nice restaurant, and a well known spa. But, the rooms that I've stayed in really do need to be refreshed. Mattresses are getting a bit soft and curtains have holes in them -- replacing them would be a good start. Even so, this is no ***** hotel […] -- the plumbing isn't pressure balanced, so the water temperature in the shower can change unexpectedly, things like that. And they should include free wireless internet in their rates, even if that drives up the cost a couple of dollars a night. Still, it's comfortable enough, with friendly service, and is close to everything in Vancouver's downtown/West End. Continua a leggere

We stay here often. It is in a good location in downtown Vancouver. Nice big rooms and friendly staff. They even upgraded us to a big beautiful suite from a standard one because we are regulars! So that was great!

We discovered this gem of a hotel a few years ago and we come back over and over again. Great location, large comfortable rooms with kitchenettes, wonderful spa products in the bathrooms, and a great restaurant and cafe on the main floor. We had a great time, the staff took care of everything. Amin gave us the VIP treatment. In the morning the front desk gave us apples and free money exchange. Even the maids gave us a coffee card to the coffee shop. Thank you we will be back!

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Century Plaza, as we were able to walk everywhere in the city. We walked to Gastown, Yaletown and the beginning of Stanley Park. My only negative comment is that the room needs more lamps and light near the bed. It was very difficult to see well while sitting in bed. Also our room had a lovely view of the d […] owntown. Will i stay here again? NO! Rooms were so old and dated. Holes in curtains. Heaters falling off the walls. TV from the 70s, dangerous tv stand for small kids in the room. Maybe they have nicer rooms. I would have liked one of those. We had rented 2 for my family and family members with us. Both rooms were horrible. Smelly and old.

I found the staff to be friendly nut the hotel is outdated. My room was clean but the bathroom was not.

This hotel was in a good location, close to shopping and a large movie theatre (all within comfortable walking distance). Service was good and the room was comfortable, but the hallways did smell like dirty old carpet. It is a good basic hotel; nothing fancy.

We stay here every time we come to Vancouver. Good selection of rooms to suit your needs, helpful and friendly staff, walking distance to Robson shopping, grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, movie theatre, clubs and live band venues. 15 min to West End and beaches. A quick transit ride to outlying areas means you can park the car and enjoy the […] city without the hassle of traffic. Not noisy even though it's on a main Vancouver street. Go for the "corporate king room" facing the water on a high floor...this was far superior than the city side "suite" I was allotted for my most recent stay... Also, re: parking. They nick you for $20 a night to park there... there is free parking (evening only) on the street bordering the north side of the hotel... if you can nab a spot. Also the hospital […] on the south side has a lot where you can park for $5 a night on the weekends.. The "Pick a perk" is a good deal for either the parking or a great breakfast... got a good rate on hotels.com... Continua a leggere

Wonderful Hotel, stayed many times. Very friendly staff , good food. The former owner a Shriner, thats why I, and my family stay there.

Stayed one night. Reception area beautiful and staff are friendly, attentive and available. Location of hotel very conv to everything, plenty of restaurants, pubs and shows. Stay here and you'll come back again.

I liked that it was located in the middle of the sights we wanted to see. Staff was friendly and the rooms were huge. I would definitely stay here again. We were only in town for a short time so we didn't take part in the amenities that the hotel offered so I can't give an opinion on that.

Very convenient to hospital when visiting. Would prefer softer bed i.e. pillow top. Could not adjust heating in room. The service was good.

The hotel was good, The price was very good through hotels.com. The Parking was a relatively insecure Imperial parking garage. The parking was extra, expensive and a bit of a shock. I guess I am used to staying where the parking is free. Internet access is free, in the lobby, or an extra if you need in the room access. It seems the higher end the hotel […] is the more they nickel and dime you. Location was excellent. Rooms large but a bit dated. Continua a leggere

An older hotel. The windows are not insulated as you can hear the bustling street (we were on the 26th floor). But our stay was pleasant enough. And the staff was very friendly.

Fabulous, fun staff! Loved the pool and steam rooms. Our room was very cozy, Thanks!

This was a great hotel. We got a good rate at Hotels.com so that made it even better. The people at the desk were very helpful. We had a cartop carrier on the van so they came out to the garage to help us find parking. The rooms were neat and clean. The kids thought the bed was too hard but the wife loved it. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vancouver. The location is excellent, the hotel staff is welcoming and helpful, and the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. I will stay there again on my next trip. It is a high quality hotel for a very reasonable price.

Staff was super friendly. We loved the coffee shop in tge lobby. The 1 br suite was spacious but the pullout bed was of typical poor quality. The location was super convenient.

Staff was really great and helpful. they got me into a room way before the needed to. I arrived in the morning and they managed to find me a clean room. Located right downtown, a short walk from restaurants, theaters and stores. Would absolutely come back.

The lobby and entry are nice - don't let this fool you. The rooms are old and cramped. Need to adjust the thermostat? Can't do that - you will need maintenance to come in and use a special wrench to turn on the heating. This hotel is overrated

We stayed in a very comfortable, large one bedroom suite with balcony close to downtown. Friendly service at a good price. Not brand new but cared for. The kids loved the pool.

Second time I have made reservations at this hotel. First time we stayed, the power went out on our floor which delayed our dinner plans. Second time, there was no parking (and we were guests who have paid for a room), there was no hot water (ended up sending us to a room that was under repairs...but failed to check prior to checking us in) we were […] switched to another room which again messed up our dinner plans THAN the reception woke us up @ 8am by accident. We got upgraded right away to a King business suite, no extra charge. The room was spacious, clean, the bathroom is a little awkward if two people want to get ready at the same time (cramped). One of the nicer hotels you could stay out for the price. Booked a weekday getaway for me and my wife and we were very impressed by it. Upon arriving we were upgraded to a bigger corner suit at a higher floor. The view of the city was great and the hotel itself felt clean. As with most hotels though, the extras cost lot. We were shocked that they charged […] $17 to rent a movie from their on demand service. The picture quality was absolutely terrible. You don't even have the option of watching a DVD. WiFi costs an additional $9 (Thankfully I could tether to my phone). They also only provide you with one coffee filter and grinds for one pot. I'm not sure if they charge for more, but it just seemed a hassle to get it. Bring your own filter and grinds if you can. This being said, I'm sure charging for the additional things helps keep the core cost down, which I do appreciate. I would recommend this place and probably visit it myself again. Continua a leggere

I traveled for a medical appt & when got to the hotel they were very helpful and informed us they had to upgrade us to a better suite with perk on a higher floor with belcony. Our room was great. We stayed at this particular hotel because it is so close to St. Paul's Hospital, where we had an appointment the next day. We were very satisfied with our room and the staff were very helpful. We would definitely stay at the Century Plaza Hotel and Spa again. Hopefully next time we will be able to have the time to be able to go to the comedy show.

The Century is a walk away from the subway, Granville St, Gaslight District, Yale Town and more. You don't want to use the valet parking. According to the attendant within, some guys on the street will pretend to be valet and run off with your car. The hotel has it's own self park lot around the corner (not free). The lobby is nice and a number of well […] dressed peeps floating around. The halls upstairs are relatively "skinny" compared to newer hotels. My room however was spacious with a nice view of the garage wall. Although the view was lacking, the room was quiet enough. There's a comey club and restaurant here but I didn't have a chance to try either. I did try the "for fee" wifi. It sucked (cost and speed). I would stay here again for personal travel but probably not for business travel because of the internet access. Relatively good value. Continua a leggere

We like having kitchenettes in Vancouver when we stay for 3+ nights. We were able to book this hotel for a decent rate at the last minute considering our plans had changed and our stay coincided with the Grey Cup in town. The kitchenette was small and included very basic and few items, requiring us to improvise and also call down to the front desk in […] the hopes of getting more pots & pans. They were able to provide us with a couple more things, but the desk staff seemed annoyed by my requests. On the plus side, the suite was a corner unit, so it was spacious, had lots of windows and a balcony, and the bedroom was a nice size. The living room was a good space too. The temperature was difficult to regulate, but that was probably due to the different rooms and where the thermostat was located. Another plus was the $5 credit each day toward the coffee place or restaurant for foregoing the housekeeping service. This meant not getting coffee and creamer refills in the room, so we used the credits for coffee downstairs, but we had to pay over and above for 2 extra-large coffees: the equivalent of what the coffee packets in the room would have produced, so in the end, we ended up shelling out about $3 for coffee instead of getting it for free and getting housekeeping. Perhaps we could have asked the front desk for the coffee packets, but since they seemed annoyed by requests, I decided not to bother them. The location was good in terms of the places we liked to walk to -- central to Davie and Robson/Georgia -- but it was also next to the hospital, so sirens were a little louder than other places we've stayed at downtown. All in all, we would probably stay there again if the rate was good and we could be guaranteed a sizeable suite again with adequate cookware. Continua a leggere

the hotel makes a claim to be green with reduced towel washing. I commend them on that. However, they have ancient toilet, 13 litres each flush. What a waste of water. They would do well to change that. I have really appreciated the Aveda toiletry product: a fine touch indeed. Beautiful views.

The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. We mostly enjoyed our stay, but the hotel could use a couple points of improvement. The room was mostly cozy, though too hot, and we were unable to turn down the temperature enough. Also, the wi-fi was pretty slow

Obtained a very good special from Hotels .com, Restaurant and service were excellent Professional and attentive staff. All together excellent value. Only problem was noise at night due to outdated windows.

I found the pillows to be too soft and the in room coffee to be discusting. Although this is my second stay at this hotel I would still go back because it is a decent hotel for the price and the location is good as well.

Staff friendly, everything clean, not alot of bling but presentable decor. The room could have done with a couple more pictures & the couch was a bit iffy. All in all the price was right for what we got, close to the Canada Line & all the other places we needed to be.
