Hotel di buon livello, da consigliare soprattutto per la vicinanza alla Stazione e a Piazzale Roma( per chi arriva in auto, come noi).Comodo per l'imbarco ai traghetti. Stanza confortevole, ma non tutte(quella dove erano alloggiati i ns. amici era un pò datata, con vasca..poco pratica..). I have a great time at the hotel and all the staffs were fantastic. The room was very adiquate for me, I had a nice rest after walking the street of Venice. On the second day the staff provided me with gumbooths to wear as Venice streets were under water. I had a good use of the wireless network which was in my hotel room. This was our third stay at Hotel Abbazia. One of the closest hotels to the train station so if you are traveling by train into Venice, you will not have to drag your suitcase around Venice or get a water taxi. The hotel is accessed via a dubious looking alley that is heavily travelled and near the train station. Once inside you find the staff is friendly and helpful. There has been a lot of renovation and the rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is good.

Great value for your money. The location right next to the train station sounds scary, but it was perfect. You cannot hear the trains, but the convenience of having to make a short walk from the train station to the hotel was worth its weight in gold. I was taken in by the spiel about being an ex-monestry. But at first found it very gloomy and dark, there is very little natural light entering the building and guest rooms. When we checked in I don't think the floors had been cleaned from the previous guests, you could just feel the grime on the floor. And my suspicions were correct because during […] our whole stay I don't think the floors in the living room or bathroom were ever swept with a broom. The breakfast was okay. One day the juice machine was not working, just dispensing water not juice, it took the staff about 3 days to realise this before making an attempt to fixit. The staff were also very slow at clearing up the tables, sometimes about half the tables were unable to be used, I was tempted to start clearing up the tables myself but thought I better not. The walls in our room were not very well sound proofed because when there was another guest in the neighboring room you could hear everything, very distracting if your trying to get to sleep. After a few days I got used to the place and started to relax, but its amazing how you can adapt to your surrounding especially if you have no choice. Continua a leggere

My gf and I had lots of luggage(a do not when trekking across country) therefore looked for a hotel very close to the train station and this was definitely a great pick. The breakfast was superb! Location to the vaporeto, water buses were perfect and so much to in proximity. This location was on the segment that has the Jewish ghetto...I can't recall […] the name but yeah it's about a twenty minute ride to island of San Marco which is an anomaly and should not be missed. All aspects about the hotel were very good although you need to get up early in the morning to have a hot shower. The hotel is very near to central station, easy to access and get to the water bus station. It is a combination of history and modern facility. We did not know that the hotel was a former monastery so it was a pleasant surprise. Standard room is disappointing (size, power outlets inaccessible, A/C not working, warm but not hot water) . If the room is facing the alley there isn't a possibly to keep the windows open for air because of the noise (even at night). Breakfast is bad. The location and staff are excellent.

The room was tidy and housekeeping did a good job however there were no water glasses in the room. Breast fast was included but it consisted of only cold meats and cheese and over cooked boiled eggs. Have stayed here before and was pleased. On this trip arrived to a hotel covered in scaffolding. Noisy, dirty, and unpleasant. Expected I would be advised the hotel under renovation. The location may not be on the water, but it is in a perfect hideaway and our room in particular was next to a church with such an amazing view! Matteo at the front desk is awesome, so helpful and so funny! There are no stairs, so don't bring heavy bags! Breakfast is SUPERB, you'll love it!

Stayed one night on Sept. 16th before a cruise. Very convenient location to P. Roma, train station and Vaparettos. Lots of shops and restuarants nearby. Room was very large and staff was very helpful. Was a bit disappointed with the building works and scaffolding on the outside, as hadn't been aware of this when I booked. Hotel itself was charming and couldn't be much closer to the station than this, down a small alley. Charming little garden where we were able to have breakfast.

We were able to walk from the cruise to the hotel (though slightly challenging to do in Venice because of the stairs) and they got our room ready two hours early for us. The hotel was very close to the train and bus station which made it very convenient when we arrived and departed as far as handling all of our luggage. Our first two nights we had a standard double room which was very small (however clean and comfortable). For anyone who arrives and departs by train, this hotel is ideal. It is one minute from the train station and one minute from vaporetto stops. Although the narrow street (looks more like an alley) leading to the hotel is a little bleak, the hotel itself is beautiful, with terrific public spaces, including a lovely, secluded garden that we read in one […] day after we'd toured for many hours. The great hotel staff recommended three good restaurants -- we tried two of them and were very pleased. Although the hotel is not close to St. Mark's Square, we walked half the time -- it takes about an hour -- and we took the vaporetto the other half -- that takes about a half hour.
