Skyline Hotel New York

Molto ben posizionato, a tre isolati da Times Square, che si fanno facilmente a piedi; camere ampie e spaziose (a NYC non succede sempre, soprattutto a questi prezzi) e parcheggio convenzionato, ottimo per chi si sposta in auto. Peccato non sia vicinissima la metropolitana. Da tenere presente.

Hotel che necessita di profonde ristrutturazioni,magari togliendo le moquettes,cambiando i mobili,rifacendo gli impianti elettrici inadeguati e non sicuri (prese svolazzanti) ,il lavabo in marmo del nostro bagno era quasi staccato dal muro,nonostante il restauro recente del bagno.Internet a costi esorbitanti.Assurdo avere una camera con due letti matrimoniali […] king size. I condizionatori vecchi puzzolenti e malfunzionanti,finestre in alluminio (solo ribalta) anni 70 pericolanti. Illuminazione insufficiente. La zona non è delle migliori,molto degradata e non fatevi ingannare non è assolutamente centrale (metro distante,pullman?) ci vuole almeno mezz'ora di marcia sosteuta per Times Square,distantissimo dalla 5 ave. Vale meno della metà del prezzo proposto ad essere generosi. Il ristorante non esisteva in quanto in ristrutturazione e per la colazione ci è mancato il coraggio....Se dovessi tornre a NYC sicuramente cercherei un albergo verso Wall Street che è servitissima dai mezzi con hotel belli e a miglior prezzo,senza considerare che la Brodway inizia praticamente da li con tutti i suoi negozi e locali. abbastanza soddisfatti dell'hotel, di solito cerco hotel più centrali, anche se con 10/15 minuti a piedi si era in centro e alla stazione metro, ma questa è una valutazione del tutto personale, nell'insieme il giudizio è positivo.

soggiornato dal 1.11 al 5.11 2010 e ci siamo trovati benissimo perchè vicini al centro ma in una strada tranquilla e con molti ristoranti carini in zona (consiglio i locali fra la 10th e 9th avenue e streets fra la 50 e la 48. In camera manca la macchina per farsi il caffè e così cade la possibilità di far colazione in camera. Ho soggiornato allo Skyline Hotel per due notti a Luglio 2009 e pur avendo pagato un prezzo piuttosto basso la camera era molto grande e pulita, il personale gentile e disponibile, è vicino ai luoghi più turistici ma in una zona molto tranquilla e silenziosa

Leaky faucett tht dripped all night, uncomfortable bed not a good neigborhood worn carpet. Rather run down. Staff tries to make up for it. They are helpful and pleasant. I would have expected cheaper rates for such a worn hotel.

Perfectly fine/adequate hotel, albeit, nothing too, too fancy. Parking garage is right there. Simply walk back up the ramp entrance into the hotel - simple & easy. They do have a very nice sized roof-top pool with a greenhouse type enclosure facilitating skyline views. (hence, the hotel's name?) Great location and the price was very reasonable. Older hotel, but clean and standard size rooms for New York City.

The a/c in the room was broken - it kept blowing out heat. They were able to give us another room. I wasn't happy about having to move - b ut they were very helpful.

Based on price, amenities, and its favorable location, this is a very affordable quality. The parking facility is definite plus.

As a family with small kids, we love this hotel ,close to the heart of NYC. ...Within walking distance of Times Square or Broadway, convenient to get to from the Lincoln Tunnel, small grocery and liquor stores right across the street. The Roof top Indoor pool is a winner with the kids too. Thanks for a comfortable, safe journey. One critique - unlimited […] wi-fi would be a bonus. Having to pay extra for it was a disappointment. Business trip with just one night in NY however found the hotel clean, but busy, well located, and easily found. Friendly reception, but disco in bar. However it didnt disturb me during the night though.

Pool was nice, No free WiFi. The faucet in the sink and tub would not shut off and had a constant run of low water. The room smelled stale. Parking was a disaster. Excellent location and comfortable beds. People working there were nice....

Not too far from a subway station and in close walking distance to several sites. As I found with several hotels wireless Internet access in the room is an extra charge and per device. This is something that needs to be rolled into the cost of the room. At the cost of this room there is no reason wifi isn't completely free.

This hotel exhibits all the charm of 1940's and 50's. It's luxurious for that age and incredibly "retro". Being New York, the air conditioning didn't seem to work right but for March the temperatures were fine. The toilet/shower area is very small and cramped, but not a dealbreaker for us. The restaurant next door (PJ's) is great, but there are also lots of other places around the neighborhood. We felt very safe walking around, even up to Central Park and Times Square. Recommended! The hotel is 10 mins away from Times Square and all the touristy things you could do in NYC. That's the good side. Maintenance and service were disappointing. The heat was off; I called the reception three times and waited for one hour before somebody showed up. He poked the heating and said nothing could be done. They did offer that we move to another […] room but the kid was already asleep, so htat wasn't an option for us. We spent the night freezing. They didn't have hair conditioner in the room; when i asked the maid, turned out they only have shampoo combined with conditioner. My hair looked awful all day. No water in the room. Very convenient to the Piers. Everything worked well.

The hotel is nice, clean. The restaurant has good food. my only complaint was that was not enough chlorine in the pool. You just felt diry being in the pool. The kids loved it.

Before moving to NYC I stayed at this hotel often. Now that I live here I still refer friends and family to this place and I also stay there myself on occassion. The only problem is that breakfast and internet are not included. My suggestion to them is to really become a family hotel and offer those basic imminities.

The Hotel was O...K but the place needs a lot of renovation work done for it to qualify for the price they're charging. The only thing I truly enjoyed about the hotel was the pool and the proximity it afforded us to the Times Square area. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Very happy with our stay at the Skyline in NYC. Very clean, large room, pool for the kids, close to everything, great service, nice neighborhood, and excellent price. I already recommended to a friend and will come back next year!

I have stayed at the Skyline a number of times due to it's great neighborhood and close proximity to cultural activities. On this stay the guests in the room next to me made sure all the other guests on the floor knew what time they came back (2am). They carried on in the room for about an hour. Too make sure they were consistent, they did the same […] inconsiderate behavior the next night. At 3am I banged on the wall to send a message. I didn't get to thank them for waking up my grandchildren. I suggest that when the front desk sees people return to hotel in a" loud" state, perhaps security can do more rounds and be more proactive in making every guest's stay an enjoyable one. There are few major things that are important disadvantages: too much noise from A/C/Heating system at night, too small room, too difficult to get wi-fi even it was paid for that, charged for the parkingnot $10 as they advertise but if you get your car in the middle of your stay then you pay $18 each time. No coffe/tea in the room.

This hotel was very close to everything. It was well priced, clean and the room was large. The beds were comfortable. I agree with other reviews that the room was a little hot.

Its walking distance to times square , the old nokia theater , and terminal 5 . The windows open for fresh air.

We are and extended family of 8 from New Zealand, and spent 8 nights in New York staying in the Skyline Hotel over 21st Dec. 2011 to 29 Dec. 2011. We shared 2 Deluxe Rooms with 2 Queen Beds in each, The rooms were great, clean, warm (air-conditioned) , great shower walk/bathroom. Staff were all friendly and helpful. No complaints about the Hotel or Staff. There is a nice 24 hr Deli across the road. Room was about what I expected for the price. The imediate neighborhood was a bit dirty but I felt safe enough. I wouldn't recomend it for families with young kids. I would stay there again. It's a bit old school but that was kid of cool too. I do Love NY.

Walking distance to Times Square and close to 5th Avenue and all other attractions. Very convenient location of the Hotel.

Although the hotel is a 10 minute walk to the theater district it is worth the effort. It is very easy to drive to and has parking under the hotel. The hotel is spotless and reasonably priced.

This hotel is a bit of a walk (5 blocks) from times square and Rockefeller center, but it was CLEAN, comfortable, has reasonably priced parking, a pool, and takes small pets. What's not to like. Also, very brightly lit at night. Front desk staff were pleasant and competent. A very good experience in NYC.

We were very impressed by the service we received. The condition of the room wasn't the best. There was lots of peeling paint, and the room was pretty small. There was no tub, just a shower. Our biggest disappointment was that you had to pay for internet service. Hotel was good, I would have rated it higher were it not for an extremely overpriced breakfast buffet at the restaurant as well as an absolutely awful dinner experience, I mean absolutely awful.

I thought the accomodations were gtreat for the price and location. We would stay there again.

No complaints. It's easy to get to, convenient to the theater district and the Upper West side. A friend and I had a double room which was enormous and everything worked.
