Showed up for a very expensive "suite". It made my college dorm look luxurious. Moreover, the room had not yet been cleaned! Unmade beds, dirty towels in bathroom, etc. Was given another room. Furniture from the 1970s or early 1980s, rattling AC vent in the ceiling. Club room was the saddest club room I have EVER seen anywhere in the world. I work in downtown and have passed by the Sheraton daily over the last 10 years. I have never thought much about it. I had the opportunity to stay there this past weekend with a wedding party - and I was honestly surprised at just how nice the hotel is! EVERYTHING was top notch. The staff was incredible, the rooms were great (we stayed in a junior suite […] in the center tower) the VALET was amazing. We visited the sports bar, Draft and it was great. Every staff member we came in contact with was plesant, friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, and spacious. Getting your vehicle from valet was a breeze. Our room met all expectations; spacious, clean, moderately elegant, essentials in tact. However, being that it was our own personal suite and not a library, it was annoying how my guests were not allowed to socialize above an "inside voice" due to neighboring complaints. The room purposely accommodates more than just a few guests, therefore shouldn't […] it be made for a higher sound tolerance? Parking was also very inconvenient, which was expected due to the hotel's downtown location, but that didn't exempt us from the pricey parking fee that any and all overnight vehicles had to pay. The Sheraton is literally 50 feet away from the Pearl/Arts District station of DART, Dallas's fantastic light-rail system that goes everywhere. I was actually glad that I didn't have a car to worry about. It was about a 7-minute walk to the Main Street area downtown that is full of restaurants, bars, and clubs. I liked how quiet the hotel was at night. […] If you don't need maid service and you hang a card announcing that fact outside your door by 2:00 am, the hotel will slip a $5 voucher under your door that is redeemable at the Peet's Coffee downstairs, so I basically paid about $1.25 for breakfast each morning (really good cafe au lait and lemon poppyseed cake that would have come to about $6.25 without the voucher). We had a great stay. The hotel was everything we expected it to be. There are a good range of breakfast diners, bars and restaurants nearby. We particularly enjoyed the Mad Hatter for breakfast and the Wild Salsa for dinner. We had a wonderful experience from check-in to check-out of our three night stay. The staff tried to make everything as quick and painless as possible, including a one-day parking pass that had to be added and then removed. My only complaint is that there were almost no places to eat breakfast within walking distance. Because of this the hotel restaurant […] was crowded, expensive and service was slow. Otherwise, everything was fantastic. Comfortable, large room with everything we needed and more. We were able to secure an Executive Suite through a thrid party website for the same price that we would have paid for a conference rate regular room. The 18 x 18 separate living area in the suite had no windows. It was spacious, but did not have a refrigerator. (I did not call to request one, nor do I know if they were available and for what price.) […] The HD TV's were nice, with free Showtime. The bathroom was large with great counter space. Shower was hot and had strong water pressure. Adequate closet space to hang cloths, but only small box-like cabinets with small drawers. Service was wonderful. We liked the option to not have daily maid service, which was encouraged by a $5 p/p per day coupon to use at any hotel establishment. It has a good fitness center, too. Within waliking distance of "Main St.", with many restaurants. It is across the street from the Dallas Convention Center, so good for business trips. You can take a short walk to 1700 Pacific Street, a business building that has many fast food-type options (some more upscale) in the basement. Worth walking there to save money on food for breakfast or lunch. Fly into DAL Love Field rather than DTW airport- it's closer, easier and a cheaper cab ride. Even with it's stated location, you won't need a car to get around Dallas. Free Trolley along McKinney Street (restaruant row) is free and train service is closeby. I wouldn't go here for family pleasure, but it's a great choice for business travel. Continua a leggere

We really enjoyed the hotel. Very comfortable and clean. Great location. We only had one issue. When we checked in, they didn't have record of the breakfast and WiFi we had purchased with the reservation. When I showed my reservation confirmation, they remedied the situation without any trouble.

Check in took 40 minutes . Sent to the wrong elevator to the wrong tower had to go back to desk for correct information. Bank of 4 elevators only 2 worked to the south tower . For the price the Marriot is a better choice

There was a convention in town and check-in took 20-30 minutes. When they found out that we were not part of the convention, they upgraded us to an executive suite. It was the best stay I have had at any hotel in a very long time.

The hotel itself was very clean and very good location in downtown Dallas. However, check in was miserable!! It took almost an hour to check in!! We also needed to call for extra towels - it took 20 minutes of return calls to get someone to answer the phone. We also ordered room service for breakfast by putting out the hang tag on our door the night […] before. Room service showed up at the exact time we requested, however, they didn't bring syrup for my daughter's pancakes which prompted yet another session of calls that wouldn't be answered for almost 30 minutes. The hotel is very nice, the staff is very friendly, there just simply isn't enough staff to take care of the large number of visitors. Booked a 2 queen bed room months in advance of my stay. I arrive and there is a 45 minute wait in line for checkin due to a cheer competition that weekend, the hotel was NOT prepared to handle the amount of travelers. After getting my room keys, I get to my room and there's only 1 bed. I call down to the front desk and tell them they made a mistake- […] the woman on the phone tells me that it's too bad, there are no other rooms and that I was booked for a 1 bed room. I tell her I have email confirmation of the 2 beds and she says its not her problem and she will not help me. I head back down to the lobby to complain in person, and after fighting for an additional 30 minutes, they finally concede and give me a handicap accessible room with 2 queen beds- definitely not what I asked for, but it was all they said they had. I will never stay at this hotels gain, and I travel to Dallas yearly- they were so ill prepared for the traveler load they received and I've never been treated more rudely by staff when THEY make a mistake and refuse to fix the problem without someone resorting to yelling at them. The hotel seemed to be very understaffed considering the conferences they had booked. They kept running out of towels. Some of the rooms we had booked had heat/ac problems. The staff they did have was trying very hard to be accomodating, they just seemed overwhelmed.

Worst "customer relations" I have EVER had at a Sheraton!!! When you try to call guest relations no one answers! I'd hate to have an emergency in this hotel which is obviously understaffed and poorly managed. No heat for three days and no explanation is forthcoming from management. When the maintenance man finally came after my third call he had no […] explanation and said he would have the head of maintenance check the log for the record of my calls. Needless to say no follow-up! And at check out, the front desk person never asked how my stay was!! If anyone worked for me as a manager in my business and treated our customers with such disregard they would be looking for a new job. Called Sheraton national "customer relations" and again was given the runaround. The person took a bad situation and compounded it. I gave up! For a full service hotel this one ranks near the bottom in value. On the Plus side, the room was clean and comfortable and the hotel itself was clean and the staff friendly. Negatives include non-delivery of wash cloths after a call to housekeeping. The restaurant service and food was definitely below acceptable even at half the price.

Small rooms but nice and clean. Bed was firm but comfortable for me. My wife thought it was too firm. Everything and I mean everything is an extra charge. And everything extra was ridiculously expensive in my opinion. Had to ask multiple days for them to refill our coffee supply and the phone system didnt take you where you needed to go. Ice machine […] didnt work. Called three times and three days and nothing happened. Had to go upstairs for ice to fill the tiny bucket. No room fridge either. I don't think I'd stay here again. The decor of the room was nice enough and it was clean, however, the maids didn't make it to our room every day, so we had to call the front desk to get clean towels. That's when we encountered our second problem: Their "guest services" don't like to answer their phones! So, using the phone in the room, I successfully reached them by dialing their main […] number and was relayed to guest services by the reservations department. (Problem number 3: Sheraton tried to charge me for those phone calls! ) Guest services assured me that I soul have towels ASAP. After waiting an hour and not receiving the towels, I had to hunt down a maid and get the towels myself, or risk being late for the convention I was in town for. Problem 4: Although it looked nice , the bed was very uncomfortable and I actually felt like I was sleeping on thin piece of padding that had been slapped down over a piece of plywood. Problem 5) They wanted to charge me $ 21/ day to park in theier creepy, dirty underground parking structure, where I honestly felt like I would soon be eaten by zombies! Hahaha! Kreowany end there, but I think you getthe point. Dallas is a beautiful city and I'm sure that, for the money, there are better hotels. The DART Stops right outside - that gets you to the West End and other useful locations. We even used the DART to get out to Parker, TX, where we stayed to go visit the Southfork Ranch (da-dah, da-DAH, da-DAH-dah-dah-dah) and Factory Outlets. The hotel is clean and quiet, and close enough to downtown to get some business done or get to the good restaurants […] like Charlie Palmer. Stayed in the Junior Suite, King bed, South tower, 15th floor during a large convention. Check-in, consierge and front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was quite clean and had plenty of room with an extended sitting area. Elevators were fast, not overloaded during a very busy convention. Downsides: The soft drink machines on the 3 floors […] that I tried were inoperative, so you had to go to the gift shop during their open hours. The indoor pool, hottub and sauna shown on some travel sites, no longer exist; It was turned into additional exercise equipment. The coffee packets left in the room on 2 of the 5 nights, was all decaf. The manual safety latch on the hotel door was broken off so anyone with a key could enter while you're asleep. If you need anything other than typical gift shop fare, the nearest convenience store is about a mile away. Continua a leggere

We attended a conference at the Dallas Sheraton. The whole experience was very good. The room was clean. The view was excellent. The food was good. The room temperature could be adjusted to your liking. Large fitness room, but no indoor pool. It would have been nice to have Internet access in the room (complimentary), but there is a cyber cafe with […] lots of computers and access there. I did have a wrong folio put under my door and also an extra charge on my bill which the front desk quickly corrected. But the place is huge, so I'm sure that it is easy to make mistakes. Just check your bill before you leave. Theyt should include Hoffbrau's on their list of steak houses. I would compare them to Dinosaur Barbecue and are much more reasonable priced than some of the other restaurants they suggested. Stay was reasonable and possible using Expedia. Continua a leggere

Stayed here for a music festival and could not have been more pleased! Room was huge and the location is great. Super close to twisted root burgers and il cane rosso pizza, both rated best of Dallas! Easy to get to fair park. $21 overnight parking is steep, but it's worth it!

The hotel is nice and the elevators are the fastest I've ever been on. I was there on a weekend when nothing was going on. Got from 32nd floor to 1st floor in like 20 seconds. Like a thrill ride. There is a catwalk to the Plaza of the Americas so that was kind of neat, except the ice-skating rink was being excavated and all the restaurants/shops are […] closed on the weekends (except maybe on special big conferences). Trolley right outside the hotel so transportation is easy. The room was nice and comfortable, although there was a lot of noise from the elevators outside our room, so request one away from the elevators or bring earplugs like we did. Service was great and they checked our bags for free. The overnight parking rate is like $21. Insane. You can save a ton of money by parking across the street for like $5-10 self pay. The sports pub was a really great atmosphere with huge screens and couches to lounge on, but you pay for that because two appetizers (little flatbread pizza and nachos) and three drinks (bloody mary, beer, white russian) ran us over $60. Problems with my 3 day stay. 1.Stained Comforter (looked like blood) 2. old water in stacked coffee cups that looked new. 3. Guest Service button on phone did not work. 4. Did not have the room I reserved over 3 months prior to my stay. 5. Fire Alarm went off 3 times the final night. 6. Could hear people becoming intimate through the wall.
