Trianon Palace Versailles, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel Versailles

Being there overnight during a time of major social perturbations and a consequently stressful day, the hotel service more than compensated for that, and made me feel pampered and cared for. Room in the secondary Pavillion perfectly clean, wide and well-furnished, with luxury bedding and bathroom details, if slightly overheated and with rickety window […] joinery. The cuisine is sheer joy, and attentive to special health requirements even at a late hour. Peaceful surroundings and straight access to the Chateau park. Drawbacks: (1) the new building completely lacks the charms one has a right to expect from such a venue. Fellow travellers'd better make sure they get a room in the main building; (2) the expensive (and no wifi-friendly) Internet access might as well be described as "delightfully outdated" but it is irritating to business travellers nowadays and kind of spoils the overall welcome feel. The main hotel building is beautiful and luxurious. However, the room we got was in the "annex" and it was neither. The bathroom cleanliness comes to mind. The toilet bowl had extensive black mold under the rim which is not readily evident, except that I had to pick up something off the floor and got a horizontal view of the toilet bowl interior. The […] shower had a glass partition that didn't even extend half the length of the bathtub, so the floor was always wet. I noticed this in other hotels that we stayed in, so I guess it's a "European" thing. The Veranda restaurant at the hotel was ridiculously expensive for the not-so-impressive food. Overall, the hotel is in a great location and the staff was very friendly and helpful, but the facilities were only average by US standards and need to be improved. However, my wife was on target saying that seeing the main hotel building from our room offered us a much better view than that of the guests staying in the main hotel and having to look at our annex building. Booked last minute due to another hotel we booked was full. Ended up with a great price and an excellent stay. The hotel building and grounds are quite impressive and located right next to the Palace of Versailles gardens. Not too far of a walk from the pedestrian area as well with nice restaurants. The picture of the room when I booked appeared much different. It was a small room with a king bed in it. The bathroom had a small tub/shower that would leak water on the floor. The sink leaked water under the counter. I’ve been in discount hotels nicer than this one. WiFi was charged per hour, and we were charged a 400 e hold fee when we got there […] even though we had already paid for the room in full. Poor maintenance, one of the beds we had in our room fell apart in the middle of the night. When I mentioned that to the hotel staff, they didn't care or do anything to fix the situation. Plus they charged me 9 euro for one local phone call to order pizza.... Avoid and find a hotel with better customer service

The hotel is in beautiful Versailles. Next to the Palace. It is a beautiful Chateau with 2 areas for rooms. The old palace and the new construction. Both are beautiful but if you can afford to stay in the rooms in the old palace, make sure you pay for the upgrade.

I had done tremendous amount of research about this hotel, and had read many reviews, about the main building and the pavilion building. We choose to stay in the pavilion building for two nights because of the rate, and let me say it was the best thing to do. We were greeted with open arms and escorted to the next building which we were welcomed with […] a small dessert for our anniversary. The room was very clean and spacious. It had a bathroom with shower which was also a bath, a minibar, flat screen and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast in the main building was exquisite. We could not wait for 7am to head over and have there delicate pastries, and drinks. The service was outstanding. They did everything to make us feel welcomed, helped us with our questions, and offered with suggestions of things to do even out of versailles. The location was very close to the restaurants, a creperie, and also the palace of versailles. If you cant afford the main building, please do stay in the pavilion. This hotel is a must, and was the best thing we did in our France trip for 10 days. We can not wait to go back!!!! We miss you Trianon. 5 STARS Continua a leggere

Wonderful and not a bad price as long as you don't eat breakfast there or dinner or have a drink or use the mini-bar or park your car! There is a great bistro at the end of the road that we had a fabulous meal in for 19Euros each (three courses). There are various stocked grocers around to buy breakfast or a bottle of wine in if you can't afford 29Euros […] each for a continental breakfast in the hotel. You can park in the street outside for free after 6.30pm. I know I sound cheap but we still enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel and the very smart room was lovely for a night of luxury in January since we were passing through and needed an overnight stay with parking. If I was enjoying an extravagant luxury weekend I would use and pay for the facilities but we wanted luxury on a super tight budget. Continua a leggere

Great location, friendly staff and the Gordon Ramsay restaurant is excellent. The other restaurant in the hotel the service was very slow but the food was good. We also had some trouble adjusting the heat in our room. Besides these two minor inconveniences I would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I went to Europe for our honeymoon, and one of the places on the list was Versailles. Trianon Palace is literally walking distance to the Château de Versailles. Staff at Trianon Palace were fantastic and friendly. Everyone was welcoming. The breakfast was delicious as it was held in such a beautiful room. We dined at Gordon Ramsay and […] it was such a remarkable experience! Our experience really made it feel like a resort; the only time we left was to explore the city and the Château de Versailles. Hotel could use a makeover, (and they tell us that they are closing in Feb for just that). Small boutique style hotel. Room was tiny, bed was dreadfully uncomfortable but room was clean and bath was small but nice. Very noisy, your fellow guests, not the outside world. Then again you're not in Paris to sit in your room. Nice location, off the beaten […] track but tons of great little restaurants, bars, and cafes in the area. Convienent to transit on line from CDG (2-3 blocks). No parking except at the garage down the street at 33+ Euros per night. Don't need a car in Paris but we had been around in various parts of the north. Que sera. Staff was great, helpful and bilingual. Might give it another try just to see the upgrades. Hotel website looks great, unfortunately the hotel has 2 parts and the rooms in the newer part are very very ordinary. Ask to have a room in the Palais. Staff are pleasant. Hotel is a good walk from the town. Spa is incredibly expensive. Breakfast was great.

The hotel was a pleasure to stay at with an attentive and friendly hotel team. We particularly enjoyed our evening meal on the terrace of the restaurant. If you're heading into Versailles for a meal, try to avoid Le Boeuf à la Mode, we didn't have a good food experience here after which we felt sick afterwards for the majority of the following day.

The clerk was amazingly friendly. She not only checked us in. She also came from behind the counter, and directed us towards our room! She was totally friendly. When the lobby lacked cups for the welcoming drinks she made sure a new sleeve of cups got there right away.

Hotel clean and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay 3 night in August. The upgrade to a park view was not worthwhile - we had a top floor room with a very small window, as the hotel is surrounded by trees we imagined most rooms would have a pleasant outlook. As you might expect bar food and drinks were expensive. We took breakfast but suggest not paying […] the extra if not included in your booking. Versailles Station was appprox 25 mins walk where we found very helpful staff who explained, in English, tickets and how to get around the Paris metro and which train would bring us back. Special rate will get you a nice room in the annex, but probably not in the main building. Food and beverage extremely expensive (as expected.) Walking distance to area with food choices. Extremely convenient to Versailles Palace grounds. Concierge very friendly and helpful. Only "problem" with room was somewhat complicated shower operation with one […] handle ready to fall off. Beware of cab costs to and from RER station. Cabs charge an extra 5 euros to pick up at the station and we were told the trip from the hotel to the train station would be about 10 euros, but the guy tried to nick us for 17. Lovely building, great location and impressive to walk up to. But rooms are not really worth the price in my opinion. Service is also a little lacking for the price. Again, not 5*. The restaurant (Veranda, not Gordon Ramsey) is VERY expensive and again, service not good enough. But a lovely lovely hotel in a superb location.

Great location and building. Reception staff helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately bar and waiting staff seemed only to be waiting for one thing - going home! Hotel bar and terrace advertised as being open until 01.00h yet staff commence removing chair cushions on the terrace from 22.30h creating the unavoidable impression of wanting the guests to leave! […] Food in the brasserie average at best and far more expensive than much better offerings from local restaurants. I am sure there is better available in Versailles........Also my (new!) car which was valet parked appears to have two rather pronounced dents in the front and rear doors from careless parking attendants! WOW!!! This hotel is amazing! My daughter and I decided to stay for one night while we were visiting the palace. We loved this place so much, we stayed two additional nights. Total luxury. When we arrived, I realized this is a Hilton property. I gave them my rewards number, since I am a gold member, they upgraded our room and provided me with a few […] perks. The room was a large twin on the 4th floor of the main building. The balcony off of the bedroom and the one in the bathroom (yes, a balcony with french door in the bathroom!) had views of the countryside and the palace. Our room was HUGE! The bathroom was larger than most European hotels, with double sinks, separate tub and walk in shower. Heated tile floors, separate water closet. Beds were super comfy, AC worked great. There is a great spa and an amazing indoor pool. The Chef Ramsey restaurant was closed for the month of August, the other hotel restaurant had ok food- drinks and food are very expensive. We ate most of our meals in town at the great assortment of restaurants. Overall, this should be a 5 star hotel. We loved it! Continua a leggere

Excellent hotel and very prestigous. It was surprising that for a fairly expensive 4 star hotel they should be charging for internet access. There did seem to be a culture of adding on high charges for every possible extra, which had not been our experience in any other 4 star hotel during this trip. But still a very nice place to stay.

Amazing hotel in a beautiful location (literally on the doorstep of the Palace of Versailles). The only thing I would say is that wi-fi is outrageously high. I know it's an expensive hotel but this is way way above any other top class hotel we have stayed in.

Service was slow and you end up spending far more than you bargained for in the terrace bar eg €27 for a club sandwich. However really lovely hotel in superb location and very good restaurant.

We booked 2nights, garden view in new pavilion, room was more than adequate however not what we thought. Huge bed, our 10 yr old had a camp bed brought in, again adequate but left v little space to move around. Expected bath and seperate shower but over bath shower, nothing wrong with it but just not what was advertised. Overall, staff lovely, breakfast […] good. We loved our stay! The hotel was very nice, we had a lovely room in the building across from the main hotel. We didn't have a view though. There is a lovely garden walk behind the hotel. The breakfast was an amazing buffet. The hotel is right outside of the "Queen's Gate" into the palace. Right inside the gate, we were able to rent bikes and ride around […] the gardens and countryside. Very beautiful. It is a bit of a walk to the front entrace of the palace, though. This is my 3rd stay here, and I like this hotel, but there are just a few things I feel I need to mention, because other guests might expect more from a five star hotel. Maybe this was just missed, and I'm sure every shower is not like this, but the grout in my shower between the tiles was yellow. Also some issues when I checked in that were later corrected […] by a different person. I had the feeling the first person may have been new, so since they have to learn sometime, I can let that go. The staff were fantastic. The grounds of the hotel help to make your stay relaxing. The leisure facilities are very good...with robes and slippers provided for your use! The breakfast (if you have bed and breakfast) was amazing. When booking, read carefully to know which part of the hotel you are in. There is the main building, which is generally shown, […] and an annex building, which is a conference centre. The 'cheaper' rooms will most likely be in the annex building. This did not seem clear to us when we booked. The room was still very good though. The restaurant is very expensive! The location is good as there is a side gate to the Palace of Versailles within metres of the hotel entrance - just make sure that you buy tickets early from the concierge if it is a special event day in the grounds of Versailles. (Worth noting that the Palace of Versailles buildings are closed on Mondays but the grounds are open and free to enter.) The nearest train station to the hotel is 'Versailles Rive Doite', NOT 'Versailles Rive Gauche', which is the closest to the Palace of Versailles. It is quite a trek from Rive Gauche to the hotel with cases! Overall, we were very happy with the stay and would love to go again! Continua a leggere

Main hotel is very gracious..though looking a little shabby in places.. but the Pavillion ( new in 1990 ) is completely characterless and more "Holiday Inn" than luxery residence . The grounds were unkempt ( with lts of long grass , weeds & rubbish ) and our room was very ordinary and need of a revamp ( stains on carpet and a tear in the vinyl headboard. […] Overall pretty disappointing given its location right next to Versailles and the beatufull exterior of the original hotel. Far too expensive for the zdisappointing experience we had The hotel had no place for us to eat dinner as apparently all was fully booked. This should have been mentioned at check-in but was omitted! We had to go to the centre and had great difficulties finding a restaurant. Our alternative from the hotel was "well you can always eat in your room". […] And if that wasn't enough, after we returned to our room we went to get water from the mini bar only to discover that food had been left in it from a previous guest (probably dinner) and it was stinking.
