Di certo delle 4 stelle non meritano manco la polvere. All'arrivo c'è stata una picola presa in giro. Avevo chiesto una semplice camera matrimoniale e il portiere mi ha annunciato, pomposamente, che mi regalava una suite. Nella "suite" c'era il letto che consisteva in un divano letto senza abat jour, lurido, con un materasso da campo, lenzuola cortissime […] e cuscini che mi hanno provocato dolori cervicali. Nel bagno, la doccia era otturata e si riempiva sino all'orlo, niente porta nella zona water. I pavimenti in moquete erano palesemente sporchi e deteriorati. Strane macchie nel pavimento del bagno...........e mi fermo quì. L'unica nota positiva la gentilezza di due ragazze che poi hanno sostituito il portriere. Non è un quattro stelle. Stanze davvero molto piccole e mal tenute. mura sporche, servizio brekfast non particolarmente soddisfacente. Unici vantaggi: posizione e possibilità di parcheggio.

Hotel discreto in quanto a camere, pulizia ed abitabilità; occorre migliorare disponibilità del personale; per il parcheggio accertarsi prima della disponibilità.

Ho trascorso qui 4 nottii, e avendo letto le recensioni, non mi ero fatto eccessive illusioni. Come mi aspettavo, la posizione non è centrale, la struttura è datata e usurata, tipico risultato di quando la proprietà è diversa dalla gestione. La mia camera doppia era appena sufficente come spazio, e il bagno altrettanto, con la doccia protetta da una […] tendina di plastica, i letti avevano materassi che andrebbero cambiati, chi rifaceva il letto non si premurava di fare aderire il lenzuolo che copriva il materasso(risultato, quando scostavi il copriletto e il lenzuolo di sopra, ritrovavi l'orma e le sgualciture della notte precedente). La sala ristorante è angusta per la dimensione dell'hotel, e per la colazione del mattino quando c'è maggiore afflusso lo scarso personale non è, nè sufficente nè attento(in 4 colazioni per 3 volte da dispenser vari scendeva acqua invece delle bevande). Mi fermo qui, con questo non voglio dire che è tutto negativo, ma solo che da un 4 stelle mi sarei aspettato qualcosa di meglio, tipo: personale più professionale; arredi, moquette, televisori, ecc. andrebbero sostituiti più d frequente. L'hotel è stato di nostro gradimento: facile da trovare, pulito, personale disponibile e cordiale, colazione più che abbondante.

Un buon hotel in cui soggiornare. Personale assolutamente disponibile e alla mano. Abbiamo molto gradito la nostra permanenza all'hotel. Si trova molto vicino al Vaticano e non lontano dalla metropolitana.

Hotel staff was very friendly and polite and helped with any questions as best as they could. Walls were very thin, could hear room next to us.Hotel was in a descent neighborhood with descent resturants near by. Would consider staying there again if I return to Rome.

When we arrived at the hotel I was pleasantly suprised. I had booked the hotel, mainly because it had advertised parking. The hotel was very good value for money, with pleasant and informed staff, convenient location for the Vatican and the Metro, nice and clean rooms and a lovely breakfast, with both continantial and bacon and eggs. Overall I loved this hotel, easily my favorite hotel I stayed at in Italy (out of the 5). The price was also somewhat comparable to the other hotels too. The room was really nice, the included breakfast was outstanding, and the location was not too inconvenient. This hotel is located in a largely residential area which is walking distance to the Vatican […] Museum. It is about a 5-10 min walk to the nearest Metro (there are 2 buses that are slightly closer, but they didn't come by often during our stay). There isn't any Italian food that close by, there is an Asian food place right next to it, otherwise you will have to walk a ways to find a place to eat. It is really close to a big supermarket, which is convenient. The breakfast was the highlight of my stay here. They had a buffet of coffee, eggs, bacon, pastries, breads, yogurts, juices, and more. It was nice having this included. The room was plenty nice, clean with the nice firm mattresses I learned to love in Italy. The lobby is really nice with leather couches, the only place I stayed at with an actual lobby. This was one of the 2 out of the 5 hotels I stayed in Italy that wanted you to drop off the key at the front desk, but it was definitely the largest hotel I have ever stayed at that required this (it is a very big hotel). I had gotten somewhat use to this traveling abroad, but it still was slightly disconcerting that all I needed to do was say a room number to a employee I had never seen before, and I was happily handed the key. The front desk staff was really helpful when we asked about recommendations and help with finding operating hours of tourist spots. I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, but this time and the previous time, the service has gone down. The front desk staff act like robots, and give quick answers. They don't seem to have time to be pleasant, when they are at the desk, and not in the side room. The elevator from the dining room got stuck on us one night. This was our first time to Rome and I wasn't sure where I wanted to stay. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Vatican. I wish I would have stayed closer to the Travestere area. But, regardless of that, the first two rooms we were placed in, the AC did not work. The third room we were given, the walls were dirty and the carpets were dingy. […] We wanted to watch the Giro d'Italia on the TV but the TVs were so old they did not work well with the satellite system of the hotel. They also had 16 in screens (or 15) and were in black and white. We enjoyed a couple of the local restaurants and the market, around the corner. Loved this hotel and thought the service was good too. Would definitely recommend it...near Vatican City and on a large avenue with great gelateria across the street.

Nice hotel but needs better customer service and more friendly staff , one lady in the front desk is very rude. Matress very old same the blow dryer. 4 blocks from the metro wich is good, internet is expensive and they charged us extra taxes 3E p.p. a day, the heater was on all day and at night we have to open the windows to cool off the room a little […] bit that was ridiculous. In its time this place would have been fine but it has not been maintained. Our room smelled of mold and mildew along with a sewer smell coming from the bathroom. However, it is in a great location, literally within site of the Vatican walls and a short walk to the Metro. If location is your key, go there. Good location in Rome. About 15 mminutes walk from the vatican and 10 minutes from nearest metro at Cipro. Room was comfortable and suitable for a family of four people. Breakfast was reasonable but you need to get there early.

Room with dirty walls. Breakfast without fresh fruits (only canned ones). It is far from the metro (underground) station as it is mentioned on the website. Everything too dark in the room.

The hotel is a decent place... however, there is NO WAY it can be called a 4 star hotel.. 3 star at best! The location is pretty bad.. you don´t feel safe walking around. Most previous reviews were accurate and on point with regard to the stay at Quality Hotel Nova Domus. The staff members were nice enough but it's hard to make up for the dirty carpet and thin walls of the hotel room. I go to Rome twice a year for work, and have stayed at the Nova Domus the last five trips. The hotel's condition has always been ok, but it is clean with a pleasant staff. However, this trip I was on the top floor, and it was raining in Rome. The roof leaked into the ceiling of my room. The sound of water hitting the tiles woke me up at 2:30 am. The […] conciere came up to look at it, and said it would be ok! I will not stay with them again, unless the hotel maintenance is improved. I am also sending an e-mail to Choice Hotels, the owner of Nova Domus, with pictures and ask for an explaination for the conditions of the hotel. My wife and I needed to have a place in Rome which was easy to get to without driving around all of the city, while only needing one night. For less than $200, the one night stay was excellent. VERY clean, INCLUDED parking, and a HUGE room/suite! Although the front desk didn't really give any good tips for local restaurants ("they're all good"), I can't […] fault such a great location, easy to find off the highway and near a lot of shops and restaurants AND the vatican (easily within walking distance). The bldg used to be part of a monastery. This explains why the rooms are big for European standard and the corridors are wide. We were surprised that the bathtub even has a jacuzzi installed. Rooms have high ceiling, carpet flooring. Small tv of 14 inches, but who spends time on tv while on vacation anyway? There's minibar inside the room and a small […] safety deposit box. They clean the room daily and turn the bed at night. Just across the hotel is a Japanese-Chinese restaurant with reasonably priced meals. All said, the caveat is don't buy hop-on, hop-off ticket from the hotel counter. They will ask you for a deposit of 6-8 euros per persons, depending on 1 or 2 days validity, with the balance to be paid directly when you take the bus. However, when you reach the terminal, you will see that it will be cheaper to get other hop on service even if you throw away the deposit you made, which the hotel front desk will not refund despite your non-usage of the facility and despite the fact that they will not be billed for it since you still hold the deposit voucher. In short, either the front desk person or the hotel benefits from the non-refund of the deposit. Other than this, we certainly will recommend the hotel. Just scout around first for sight seeing options. By the way, the rate we got from hotels.com is better than the rate you get when you directly book with the hotel. We learned this when we tried to extend for two more days, only to find out that the rate was relatively higher. Continua a leggere

This hotel was very close to the Vatican. Reasonable and tasty resturants were nearby. The staff was able to speak english and several other languages. The breakfast was very good for continental types. Very friendly and professional. The only drawback was the bed. It was very hard and uncomfortable.

Service is the highlight at this hotel. It is like the perfect mix between family-business (warmth, personal attention, friendliness) and American chain hotel (education, standards). Hotel Nova Domus is in a great location - less than 10 minutes walk from the Vatican steps, and within 10 minutes walk from lots of good shops, markets and restaurants. And they are local shops, restaurants and markets so you're getting good quality and good prices. The service at the hotel is just OK, nothing great. The front desk staff speaks English. […] The room is tiny and not particularly comfortable, beds are pretty hard. But being in Rome you're not spending any time at the hotel except to sleep anyway. If you want to see the Vatican and be in a nice local neighborhood, with a convenient metro stop also within 10 minutes walk, Nova Domus is a good choice. good hotel with free parking. free parking is huge because it is very difficult to find parking spot in rome and if you find one, it would be very expensive. the hotel building and interior is rather old but clean. the bed is good but not the best. location is great because it is a walking distance to vatican. a lot of restaurant near by and in front […] of vatican, there is a hop on hop off bus (not the best because of the traffic in rome). you can park your car for few hours after you check-out which is very helpful so that you don't have to find parking spot. the free breakfast is also good. The hotel is about 5 blocks to Vatican Museum steps. The triple room was small and the 3rd bed was a fold out love seat, not as comfortable as a regular twin and had stains on it . Their continental breakfast was good with a varied selection. Room condition was okay, but the closets were painted over plywood. I have stayed at the Nova Domus hotel several times on business, and have always been pleased with the staff and hotel. However, the hotel has changed internet service, and I couldn't connect for over a day. The staff wasn't helpful with my problem.

Room and bathroom were a little small, but I expected this for an older urban property in Rome. Location was great. It was a 5 - 10 min walk to subway station. It was about a ten minute walk to the Vatican Museum entrance and a 15 min walk to St Peter's Square. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Convenient to the Vatican and many fine eating locations. The rooms are larger then many European hotels and serves a very nice English breakfast.

Nice large rooms by Rome standards. The neighborhood is not the friendliest, but still felt safe. The hotel restaurant food was the worst we had in two weeks of traveling around Italy. The hotel is very Americanized - everyone speaks English - this is not an Italian cultural experience...

We booked this hotel through gotels.com Our room was a standard room and was much small. The bathroom had moulding and the doors could not lock from inside. Thy did not change as they iterated that they are fully booked for the duration of our stay. The walk from vatical is less than 15 mintes; however the walk from cipto metro is about 10 minutes even […] with the moderate pace of walking. I would recommend Hotel Nova Dumas as a good value for money hotel reasonable close to the Vativan area - does what it says on the tin

absolutely amazing once we got to the hotel and sight seeing. however the trip from the airport to the hotel was not good. after asking the ladies inside the airport about what bus to take to get to the termini we went outside to be told that every bus that turned up was not hte one that we needed!! after an hour and a half just got on the next bus […] and ended up paying 2bus fares! was a bit hard to find the hotel but once we realised that from the cipro metro it was the other side of the fountain was great! saw all sights possible so very long days. make sure you wear good shoes! flipflops would be a no-no the hotel was ok but we went on the idea it was just a place to sleep. you will find tho that the chambermaids and other guests don't seem to have any respect for time of day or loudness baring in mind the walls are very thin. not only can you hear people talking but also the sewage pipes seem as if it is in your room that the chain is being pulled for example. we found a restaurant not far from the hotel which served a range of belgian beers and served foor too which was a bonus. literally 2blocks down from the hotel and to the right! The staff was extremely friendly and the location was prime. The room was a lot bigger than I anticipated, so I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff was attentive to all our needs. Breakfast buffet was outstanding--eggs & bacon, pastries, fruit, coffee, juices. The room was a good size. About a 20 min walk to Vatican Museum entrance. Very close. Many cafes nearby. Air conditioned--necessity for August in Rome.

Hotel is walking distance to Vatican and metro. Breakfast is included. Room is bigger than I expected. There is a charge for using the internet even though signal strength is "low".

the hotel is indeed 8 block walk to Vatican and our small balcony had obstructed view of basillic dome. Breakfast was very good. Beds were intolerably hard. Bathroom faucet fixed our last day. Elevator out of order for a few hours but able to use service elevator from 4th floor. Not good food or price in hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner. Internet […] not free. Was charged $40 for use of room telephone to make toll free international calls. Only one hotel staff friendly and helpful. Our credit card was billed full amount before we left USA. This lovely boutique Hotel was lovely. Although the hotel could not provide four separate beds, they provided two singles with a large pull out. The room was extremly clean and the bathroom was heaven! The hotel has open terraces used for drinks and another for dining. It is situated very near Vatican City (within walking distance), and the area has […] several wonderful resturants. The style of the hotel is art deco and the staff was very accomidating.
