"Basic hotel in Beijing"
The front desk person was very nice, the hotel is quite old, the rooms are not that clean and the beds are terrible (like sleeping on a piece of wood). It is functional but not a 4 star hotel.
"Close to shopping main street, Imperial palace etc"
Staff very helpful, informative, polite overall very good
"close to subways and interesing places,"
Great hotel, clean, very reasonable price, staff are very friendly and close to two subways stations, walking distance to must see places. the only criticism is expensive eating in the hotel
"Capital hotel beijing - bathroom not good"
Bathroom shower not good, water does not drain out. Room carpet does not get vacummed.

"Good location"
The location of this hotel is great. Very close (walking distance) to the Forgoten City and Tiananmen square. Has a subway statin 2 blocks away. Hotel does need a face lift. Staf are very friendly.
"Capital Hotel - close to Tianneman"
Very nice hotel, with many amenities and attractive well-appointed rooms. My only complaints were twofold: first, the bed is rock-hard, but this seems to be "normal" in China; second, the room was too warm and the a/c didn't seem to work, perhaps because they figure you can open the window, but if you did so there was traffic noise. After spending time […] in other Chinese hotels that were way too cold, I didn't want to complain much about being too warm. Enough English was spoken that we made out fine that way, and service was good and prompt. There isn't too much around there, but Tianemen was only a 15 minute walk away. We didn't find any other restaurants close by, but the hotel has several, so me managed there for breakfasts and a couple other meals. Continua a leggere
"CAPITAL HOTEL BEIJING-QIANMEN"
Our stay in this hotel was overall good. Although it's about 10-15 mins walk from the subway but we can always take a tuk-tuk which cost Rmb10 to the hotel. 15-20' mins walk to tiananmen square, forbidden city and wanfujing area.
excellent hotel--most of the hotel personnel were extermely friendly only one did not want to help
"Capitol Hotel Beijing"
Location walking distance to Tianamen Square, Forbidden City, Pedestrian street/night market; although taxis are pretty cheap so not huge advantage. Was 4 Star when new but more of a solid 3 Star; probably solid 4 Star when new; fixtures/furniture were higher end; carpet needed replacing; bed is very hard which I was okay with A number of restaurants […] in hotel giving options Continua a leggere

"Chinese Hotel.... Western Comfort"
I stayed for 5 night at this hotel recently and found it to be an excellent hotel in a very good location... only 10 minutes to The Temple of Heaven, Wangfujing Shopping Area, Tianamen Square etc... Hotel staff were professional and the hotel was kept in very nice condition... very much a western styled hotel with large rooms (I stayed in a deluxe room). I […] would strongly recommend this hotel. Continua a leggere

"great location"
Enjoyed the stay. Hotel near tube providing a cheap way to get to and from airport as well as a means to travel around Beijing. Good shopping and tourist attractions nearby (walking distance).
"Capital Hotel"
It is around 10-15 min walk from chong wen men substation. There is also a bus stop in front of the hotel. It is rather convenient to travel to places like the forbidden city, tian tan garden and tian an men sq. To visit the great wall and 13 tombs of the Ming dynasty, you will need to sign up on a day tour.
"Capital Hotel Beijing"
Very nice hotel with everything you need. It is a bit away from the crowded streets but you can access shopping, Tiananmen square, Forbidden City, Muslim Market etc within 15 minutes walk. Like all hotels that I have stayed at in China be prepared for hard beds. Breakfast was good with a lot of variety, I would certainly stay here again and they set […] up our tour for us and we were picked up and delivered to the door. Continua a leggere
"Very Impressed With Capital Hotel in Beijing"
We reserved the Capital Hotel for a 3-night post-cruise stay and chose it the way we choose other hotels, which is based on a combination of price and guest reviews mostly positive. So we and others arriving at the same time were all pleasantly surprised and impressed to see what a beautiful hotel the Capital turned out to be. Our initial impression […] lasted throughout our stay, and we are giving the Capital Hotel 5 stars in all categories. The exterior is very attractive and the lobby is huge, sophisticated and and much more elegant than the reasonable prices led us to expect. The staff were all helpful, professional and friendly. We were in Tower B in room 850, and our room was surprisingly big, very well appointed and comfortable with a big wall to wall window. The only negative was a hard bed, but we slept fine and we knew to expect a hard bed from other reviews, and this seems to be a common factor in hotels in China. We also really enjoyed the location of the hotel. We are a fit couple in early & mid 60's who enjoy walking, and we walked to the Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City areas easily, as well as to some of the shopping areas. We even walked past the Temple of Heaven to the Pearl Market from the hotel (a longer walk), but we took a taxi to return to the hotel. Note: Not related to the Capital Hotel, but watch out for the pedi-cabs. We experienced one trying to charge us 10 times as much as he had quoted. We held our ground and paid what had been agreed initially and he left, but it might have been worrisome if we had not been in front of our hotel. We had been warned by a Beijing resident we met on our cruise not to trust the pedi-cabs unless someone arranged it for us, and we should have listened. This is why I am adding this note, which has nothing to do with the lovely Capital Hotel. That was the only negative incident in an otherwise great visit to Beijing. Continua a leggere
The room was very nice and larger than other asian hotels we have used. The bathroom had a tub and shower but smelled of sewer gas. They did not have a non-smoking room available so had a room "treated" to reduce tobacco smell and it was okay. You can not drink tap water in this city! The bed was as hard as sleeping on the floor.
"Capital hotel Beijing"
Very good hotel with 5-10 minute walk to tiananmen square. Staff very helpfull. Only downside was that the beds were hard
"Convenient."
Walking distance to Forbidden City, Tianmen Square and the Shopping district is only few blocks (Beijing Tourist Hub is located there) highly recommended if you wanted to see The Great Wall of China. You will save more using that hub compared to other resources. You will save at least 100 RNB per person. They will pick you up around 7-8AM from the hotel […] lobby and go straight to the Great Wall, you only have 2 hours stay in that spot so make sure that you are prepared to hike to have enough time to reach the usual top tower and spare at least 30 minutes to go down for some more pictures taking. This hotel is also close to the train station, we didnt use this because there's no English translation of the Station unlike in Hong Kong that their train station has English translation; very easy to use. From the airport to Capital hotel, taxi is vey convenient, just make sure that you have the Chinese name of Capital Hotel to show the driver, it was only 80-90 RNB. Hotel staff speaks and understand English, they are very customer oriented! Continua a leggere

"Grand Hotel Luxury - walk to Attractions"
This hotel has the look and the feel of grand luxury. From the massive lobby to the spacious room decorated with quality furniture pieces to the luxury bathtub - this hotel was perfect in all details. Add to that the perfect location for walking to Tianamen Square and the shopping districts and I can't think of a better place to stay in Beijing. I recommend […] it highly. Only negative - WiFi costs 100 Yuan per day. Unrelated to the hotel - don't do business with touts offering rides on rickshaw-type bicycles - you'll feel great until they drop you off three blocks later and demand exorbitant payoffs, Continua a leggere
"Great location, Italian restaurant is over-rated"
Hotel is in a great location-within walking distance of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, new mall with decent restaurants, and subway. Budget prices but you have to factor in the cost of wi-fi and breakfast (breakfast buffet is fantastic and worth the added price!). The Italian restaurant is over-priced and just average although the views from […] some of the tables are nice. In general the hotel needs a face lift, but if you're looking for a budget hotel in a great location, this one fits the bill. Continua a leggere
"Capital Hotel-Beijing"
Overall the hotel is comfortable but the bed is a bit hard. The location is fantasic. It is near to most of the place of interest (within walking distant). Access to subway station is also very convenient
"Can they turn down the volume of the dancing room?"
I lived in block B. They dancing room also happens to be at the basement in block B. The bass of the music is very strong. Although I was living at level 10, it's quite loud during the night. I can't bear it.

"Good place to stay"
A large facility but well kept and in a good location. Good moring buffet. A la carte not so good. comfortable room. Staff are sincere but not as well trained as one might expect.
"great location, good price"
The location is great, close to everything. The rooms are actually very clean, except that the carpets are old and dated. Staff are very helpful, for example, they changed the room for us from a room facing the traffic to a quiet room with a view.
"Best tourist location!"
Capital Hotel is located within a walking distance of major historic sites and luxury shopping streets alike. Spa experience was disastrous and hesitating service from the attendants. Shower had some issues but were addressed and mixed on a timely manner by maintenance staff members. Breakfast was abundant but lacking of quality. Overall experience […] was satisfactory. "Capital Hotel - A glorified Chinese "zhaodaisuo""
Definitely not a 4 star hotel, at least not by international standard. It has everything with very low quality.
"Great place to stay...as always."
i have stayed here several times and it is always a good place to stay. One thing i would caution...the bell hops, guys out front f the hotel are the worst of anyhere i have stayed in China. If it wasn't for the location, price and good service in the rest of the hotle...I would never recommend this place.
The hotelis more suited for conferences or conventions, while it is close to several subways, you still have to walk, my option was the capital club floors and we had great views, the clubs afternoon tea and drinks were a bit mean, allowed only one drink then you have to pay for the others, after a long day day out you need more then the one drink, […] always better where you can serve yourself and not have to wait for staff to serve you. Pool was small compared to hotel size............... Continua a leggere

"Good Location"
My family and I enjoyed staying at the Capital Hotel in Beijing. It was close to many of the attractions. The only complaints are that the bed was too hard and the rug in the bedroom needed to be replaced.
"Capital Hotel in Beijing"
A well sited welcoming hotel that really made us feel at home. Several days are essential to try the wonderful array of restaurants. Only minor criticism is that the gym could have been better equipped.
"Capital Hotel in Beijing"
We like this hotel overall, it's clean and the service is good. However, it's quite far from the subway station by walk and no shops around for buying stuff.
"Capital Hotel in Beijing China"
Very clean with a friendly and courtesy staff

"Capital Hotel - fairly satisfactory"
All the staff were very friendly and the hotel overall was okay in standard. Although, I found that the swimming pool was very difficult to swim in as it was too shallow for my height. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

"capital hotel Beijing"
Nice hotel close about 800 metres from Tienanmen square, and the restaurants close to the square. Hotel restaurants were quite expensive. Sign up for their frequent stayer club and get free internet + benefits on future stays nice pool that was not used by many guests. I will stay there again.
"can't imagine a better hotel in Beijing"
location was perfect, the most important sites to us were in walking distance, the service was perfect, very friendly personnel, surprisingly good english skills (compared to what I am used from Shanghai) I really cannot think of anything negative!
good stay, comforty
"Capital Hotel over all very nice"
my 3ed stay a very nice hotel
"Great location, great service"
The building itself is a bit old but the service and others are fantastic. Walking distance to TianAnmen square and forbidden city. Highly recommend it!
"Capital Hotel Beijing"
Hotel is very big and the rooms are nice- clean and spacious and very modern. Location is great as it is a 5min walk to the subway and Beijing has an amazing subway system. If you prefer to take cabs then there are always cabs lined up at the hotel ready to take you where you want to go. Tiananmen Square, The Temple of Heaven, and the Forbidden City […] are not too far from the hotel. You feel safe in the hotel as there are guards that let cars/traffic in and out. The amenities are great (bowling alley, massage parlor, fitness centre, indoor pool, billiards room, karaoke bar, and lots of restaurants to choose from). LOTS of westerners choose this hotel. The English of the staff is good enough. The price per night for the hotel is pretty on par for what you would pay in the rest of China (I currently live and work in China) even though it may seem pretty cheap for such a nice hotel in such a modern/touristy city. The prices for the food in the hotel are ridiculous in comparison (you might as well be eating in a Western country). The only little thing we did not like about the hotel is that the internet is not free but other than that we were very happy with our stay and impressed with our hotel! Continua a leggere
nice hotel in a great location of Beijing. Good access to subway system
"Air conditioning is ineffective"
On arrival we were upgraded, so the room was large and well equipped. However, the rooms are very hot and the air-conditioning does not cool. We changed to another room, which was no better, then learnt that on the second night cool air would start to be supplied, but only until 10pm each day. This was the 14th hotel on a trip around Asia and was the […] only one without cold air. Continua a leggere
