Recensito da un utente di Hotels.com in data 25 feb 2013La posizione è stupenda in quanto si trova direttamente di fronte a Central Park. La nostra camera era veramente spaziosa. Per la colazione è meglio premurarsi che sia già pagata o meno altrimenti viene addebitata sulla camera e poi bisogna spiegare che era già pagata. Attenzione al frigo bar, ogni tanto caricano sul conto consumazioni non fatte. Nel nostro caso, dopo una breve spiegazione, hanno provveduto immediatamente a cancellarla dal conto finale e senza fare troppe storie. Il personale è stato gentile a parte qualche cameriere un po scorbutico durante la colazione ma con il quale abbiamo subito chiarito, parlando noi un buon inglese.

I think that the hotel is too old to be rated very high. The bathrooms are small and old. I felt things were clean but very dated. Some upgrades need to be made to this hotel before I would stay there again. Everything was warm and welcoming. Not sure why our room was at the very end of the longest hallway away from the front desk when the hotel did not look busy, but our room was lovely and comfortable for a brief stay while we visited with family for Thanksgiving. Both business and family visits in town, I have a lot going on when I stay here- this is my 4th stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is convenient, free, really good. "Beautiful but terrible room"
I stayed here on March 20, 2012 for a business meeting the next day. It was my first night at this hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff could not have been nicer. A great breakfast was included in my room rate and they had complimentary WiFi. All great. They missed the mark on the room itself. It was designed to be a clean, classic design. […] But it was just full of inconvenience everywhere you turned. Hardwood floors throughout and no rug meant grit in the bed. The room was in the basement ("Lower Terrace") and had a overall humid feel. No shampoo or cups in the bathroom. The TV remote didn't work. The shower was tiny. The toilet seat was broken. There was only one outlet plug in the room. It's a shame. Either they didn't set up my room properly or they are skimping on the little things. Burnt out light bulb in bathroom never noticed by staff during my 1 week stay Toilet would run and flood bathroom - also not noticed - fixed it myself. Molding caulking on bathtub - didn't bother to repair that myself. Dust on TV screen/phone. Perhaps the last non-flat screens in the industry -- taking the "historic" theme a bit too far here. Carpet […] throughout hotel worn/dirty Musty air in poorly equipped exercise room Renovated rooms have hardwood floor - odd choice (these rooms do have flat scrn TVs) Only shower (no bathtub) in some (most?) rooms Towels are old and shredding poor wireless connection Only 3 hangers provided in closet Ironing board was lumpy Face plate missing from wall outlet. Breakfast was very good for US standards Room was very quiet - depends where you are located though. Rooms facing back parking lot, lower level are best. "The Grand Summit Hotel - only one small glitch"
Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel. My room seemed to be newly refinished, and the decor was really well done. And the price I got from Hotels.com was really good! Trying to close the hallway door was a little tough and disturbed some neighbors, but that could've been due to all the moisture in the air and the wood swelling. I only have one […] negative thing to say about my visit, and that was that as I went to lift the comforter off the floor in the morning, a skinny long creature scurried from underneath it and ran across the floor. I would give them the benefit of the doubt, though, and think that was just a fluke, because really, the room was extremely neat and clean otherwise. One other thing they could improve on, but not a deal braker, is that the lobby staff and the behind-the-counter staff were doing a lot of chitter-chatter, and it felt like I was interrupting them when I approached the counter. "Definitely an older building"
The Grand Summit is 143 years old and it shows in some aspects. The building smelled "old" and many of the hallways seemed as though a cover up cleaner was used to mask the old smell. The pool was not open until near the end of our stay and in our opinion it could use a little TLC. It was a little on the cold side and had lots of stuff floating in […] it (leaves, pollen, bugs, and two lizards) Overall it was a nice place, and the staff was very nice. The vending machines were very finicky when it came to taking dollar bils for sodas. The 7-11 down the street ended up being our choice for snacks and drinks. "Stayed in a blizzard!"
We arrived in the Blizzard of 2010 to find the entry way plowed and parking lot fairly clear! Front desk check in was quick and courteous. Our room was lovely, but very hot, so we turned off the unit. Had a great hot continental breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit, juices and coffee) the next morning and left to somewhat cleared roads and a plow […] in the parking lot to assist our departure. They did not charge us to park, although they normally do. This is a grand older inn, beautifully detailed with plenty of character. We will always stay here when visiting family in the area. "Grand Hotel in Summit: convenent but not 4 stars"
If you need to stay in Summit for business or family, the location of this hotel is superb. Hotel is listed as a 4 star property. However, the stars must be from a time long ago. Our room was small. Mildew in the shower. Peeling wallaper border (the border itself must be a throwback to the 4star days) . Well-worn carpet. Wide screen TV, but analog, […] not HD. It is annoying to pay $9.25 extra each night to park the car in an outdoot lot -- should be included in room rate. Pluses: good breakfast; nice relationship with nearby YMCA workout facility within walking distance. Great downtown location with many shops and resatuarants in walking distance. "Hotel mit allem Komfort"
Hotel in guter Lage, nicht weit in die Innenstadt. Die Zimmer waren total bequem und hell.Auch das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut vor allem der kaffee. Auch der Manager war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Insgesamt würde ich sagen top.Recensioni obiettive Hotels.com
