mostra tutti gli hotel a WashingtonIn today's world and being in a cosmopolitan city I was surpised to be charged for wifi in our room. It was a nuisance and added a ridiculous $10.00 each day to the cost of the room. There were a few extremely helpful receptionists but some not even friendly. Our bathroom door squeaked and music from the hall kept the person sleeping on the pullout […] bed awake. The door was fixed when I complained but due to the music I finally had to share my bed with my god-daughter. Continua a leggere
"Great Hotel"
We stayed at The Churchill with our toddler and it was such a good hotel that we will be back if and when we are in DC again. 10 min walk to the DuPont Circle metro which is a big hub. Clean hotel. Best of all is the staff. From the restaurant to the reception, everyone is very nice, helpful. We needed to warm the bottle milk for our baby and the staff […] was very helpful. Continua a leggere
"Great location in DC."
This hotel was just what I needed. Convenient location, clean and the staff was incredibly helpful. I recommend it.
"Great location, pleasant hotel, small bathroom"
We stayed one night. It was a perfect location for our needs. I would stay again. The room was a nice size but the bathroom in our room was really small without cosmetic space.
"Centrally located"
The hotel had all the amenities you can possibly expect. it was a good price for the fact that it was so centrally located and also offered the convenience of parking. It turned out to have the added benefit to be across from the Hilton so that we could see the guests arriving and leaving for the White House press dinner. All in all a very satisfying […] visit. The service was excellent, the rooms were clean and the bathrooms well stocked. The location was amazingly quiet at night. Continua a leggere
Elevator is extremely slow, and only one was in service in the evening. Cell service is very poor - I use Verizon and had no 3G in my room, so I had to pay the $9.99 internet fee in order to check and respond to emails. I arrived in town at 8am before my meetings, and tried to leave my suitcase with the concierge; at that time I was told I had to check […] in or they wouldn't guarantee my room (even though it was prepaid!). I didn't sign any paperwork or receive a room key as part of this check in, and also didn't get any sort of receipt for my bag. Fortunately the bag was still sitting behind the counter when I returned, but still, very unsettling! I also had a major problem with my room door - it wouldn't open unless I gave a violent hip check against it to force it open. The wood door must have swelled, not sure, but certainly not a convenient or pleasant experience upon entering my room after a 15 hour day of meetings. Continua a leggere
"Old world charm"
If you are tired of the chains where you're not sure which city you are in, then this is the place for you. There is a charming feel to the hotel. The bathroom was tiny but the room itself was large with lots of windows; very comfortable. The staff was great. I plan on staying there any time I'm in DC.
"dee dee"
It was great despite the spa services I reserved that never showed up and their customer service was horrible. Beds were lovely and staff very polite.
"Bathroom was so small, Room was really large"
This was a nice hotel and the room we got was really nice and large for 2 adults and 2 children. They gave usdown pillows that we requested, and it was quiet. But the bathroom was so narrow, you had to turn sideways to get past the sinks to the shower and toilet. A bit odd. The overnite parking fee is $39 per day, OUCH. But I would recommend it.
Great hotel, excellent location, convenient to the Metro and numerous restaurants, good to have an excellent size room, with coffee making facilities and a fridge, good to have a shower with decent water flow, friendly hotel service, hope to return to Washington in the future and would definitely stay there again.
Great location when the Metro escalator construction is complete. Hop on and you are at the Smithsonian in minutes. Rooms are spacious. Beds are comfortable. Older hotel so a little cramp in and around elevators. If you like the character and ornation of older hotels then this one does not disappoint. Parking is valet only at $39/night.

"The Churchill Hotel in Washington, DC"
Charming, friendly, clean, convenient. Loved the location. Friendliness of the staff was outstanding. Would much rather stay in a hotel with some character like this one than in a larger, modern one.

"Disappointment at a high price"
We picked the Churchill despite reviews that criticized the hotel's service at the front deak. We wanted the Four Seasons, but felt that was too pricey. We opted for what we thought would be significantly lower prices at the Churchill with space and charm to make up for the luxury and location of that other place. We were wrong.. Though it was cheaper […] than the 4 Seasons, after add-ons, it was not much cheaper. The front desk was, true to the reviews, awful. It took us well over a half hour to check in, and if I hadn't already paid for our stay (to Hotels.com), I would have walked out and gone to the Four Seasons. The room was generously proportioned, but not a suite or mini-suite, as it was billed. The beds were disastrous for people with good backs; for me with a chronic bad back, it was agony. (the cot for my 8 year old daughter was no better.) The room was old and tired, and the closet was part of the bathroom. (We were constatnly aplogizing to our clothes for brushing into them while brushing our teeth.) The hotel is located in a pleasant residential neighborhood, but if your room faced Connecticut Avenue, as ours did, the noise from the street, busses, emegency vehicles, etc, was oppressive. The widows were single paned and certainly single hung, so very little sound from the street was muffled. We could have left the windows open and the noise level would have been little different. The only bright spot was the bellman/doorman who was warm and helpful and went the extra mile. But that is not enough to outweigh the many negatives and disappointments of the hotel. "Great Hotel in mid-town Manhatten"
This is a terrific hotel, well maintained, great rooms, extremely comfortable in a great location. I'd give it five stars, but the only flaw was the shower, which was one of the weakest I've ever seen in a hotel.

"Churchill Hotel in DC-Great central spot!"
Close to transportation, lots of GOOD restaurants nearby, Dupont circle is a very safe area.
"Must stay Hotel in D.C."
This was a great hotel for me and my family to stay in. The rates were very reasonable for the time that we stayed. The staff was friendly. Housekeeping didn't touch our items as some other hotels. Rooms were very spacious and great height! Short distance walk to the Metro. Loved it here and would definately stay again!
"The Churchill"
The stay at the Churchill was perfect. It is close to the Dupont Circle area and subway stop, with many nice restaurants and shops. The staff was very kind and even let me check into my room at 7AM prior to my meeting that day. The room was very clean and comfortable. It is a national historic hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

There wasn't no mirowave we had to purchase one for thirty dollars! I thought that was ridicouls. They had to secure 80 dollars off my card and didn't tell until I got there. Don't never pay up front because if you have to change your mind you will loose your money. We had to walk five miled for a park.

"The Churchill"
Nice hotel -- rooms were a little larger than expected Convenient to Dupont Circle and the embassy areas and good eats. Close enough to metro and access to downtown.
"Need to Get It Together on the Service Side"
The Churchill Hotel is a great location but it seems that their facilities and staff leave something to be desired. First when I checked in, I let the front desk staff know that the phone in my room was not working and they said they would have an engineer look at it. When I returned later the phone still did not work (I let them know again) they did […] not send anyone. I had to call again the next morning and then an engineer came up, tried to make local and long distance calls and determined the phone did not work and called down to let them know. I stayed for three days and two nights and the phone did not work the whole time. Upon check out I let the front desk staff know that the phone did not work the entire time I was there and she insisted that it did. I thought I checked into the Churchill, not the twilight zone. In a previous stay there was no heat on one of the coldest snowiest days in February and they did not even discount the rooms. Further, I used the Valet service for my vehicle and they assured me that they had indoor parking. My vehicle arrived in front of the hotel with almost a foot of snow on it. While the hotel is nice the service and facilities still need help. Comfortable stay, but do not expect phone service, heat in some cases or protection for your vehicle in inclement weather. "Convenient and well-priced"
The Churchill is an attractive structure and probably had good views until the Marriott Courtyard was built slam bang next to it. The charm of the exterior clashed somewhat with the modern interior and the lobby decor didn't invite lingering. The staff were very polite and helpful. Our suite was large but the bathroom minute and outdated, still this […] is to be expected in an older building. The location was very convenient and quiet. Continua a leggere

"Boutique and Quaint"
The hotel room was a decent size however the bathroom was incredible small and tight. I knocked my ankle on the toilet trying to get in the shower a few times. The entrance in to the room next to the closet is so tight. Otherwise, once you pass the bathroom the room is spacious. The location was perfect for walking to places to eat. For the excursions […] we wanted to do the location was nice within driving distances- however their parking prices are outrages. It was so much cheaper to find parking on the street or nearby parking garages. Continua a leggere
"great hotel and smoking rooms!"
not sure if many people know this but most hotels are completely non smoking, but this on has sa smoking floor! and the room are huge!
"Big room, close to metro and dining"
Had a lovely long weekend here. The room was comfortable and surprisingly large. It's just a short walk to the Dupont Circle Metro, and there is a great selection of restaurants just a block away.

"The Churchill Hotel--inviting and customer-focused"
This hotel feels like a small hotel but has all the amenities of a large one. Clean and bright, the staff are very friendly and the rooms are lovely. Wonderful breakfast provided in their restaurant. Did not have dinner there as they were hosting a private party. Would highly recommend.

"could do with a freshen up"
Bathroom was fairly cramped and just had an old hotel feeling, would probably chose Marriot or Hilton next time, you know what you are getting ...
Have stayed there so often that most of the staff know us but this last time, we ran out of hot water so now a little uneasy the next time to see if we will have hot water.

"The Churchill Hotel-DC"
They actually charge for internet, that is so "lame." I would understand this in the 20th century, not in 2011.
"Churchill"
While the location of the hotel itself and the neighborhood was convenient for our one-night stay, the cleanliness of the room left something to be desired. Mystery crusty-white stains on the carpet (room 302, just inside the door near the nightstand), cracked bathroom tiles that pinched one's feet, and a thermostat that didn't quite take the chill […] out of the room. The staff was also a bit indifferent, not very helpful when asking about the neighborhood/directions et cetera. Valet parking for overnight was very expensive!!! It snowed overnight, so when it took the valet 30 minutes to get the car in the morning, we assumed it was because he had to clean it off a bit. It was a disaster! Snow and ice everywhere and the seats were soggy with it as though he knocked all the snow into the car! Oh-and by the way, they charge for wi-fi! Who does that anymore!? The room was spaceous and the price was right, so I suppose we got what we paid for. Really the most off-putting things were the stains on the floor and the price of parking, though I suppose it wouldn't be cheap anywhere nearby. I'd reccomend, but with a few caveats. "The Churchill Hotel in Washington, DC"
This is a lovely hotel, conveniently located, but most of all, with a wonderful staff that really "gets it", when it comes to the word "hospitality". This was a special family trip to see the Army-Navy game, celebrate a birthday, and enjoy a special tour of the White House.
