It was clean, quiet and beautifull. good value for money. Pretty close to pen station but the surrounding is a scetchy downtown. Easy to get to NY from there

We had a great stay at the Robert Treat Hotel. It was recommended to us by friends that stayed there a week before our stay. Since we were from out of town, I was thankful there was a shuttle bus to take us to and from Penn Station, free of charge. We spent our days in NYC then returned to the room for the evenings. The hotel itself was very nice, service was great. The neighborhood it is another history. It was very bad area, but if you drive in you should encounter any problem. You could not walk outside after dark for exploring.

Very thin walls. Could hear everything in the adjacenct rooms.

Decent value for what we paid; if you have to go to Newark, this isn't a bad deal. looking for a place close to my client, which it was, rate was reasonable and bed was decent. however the closet was useless- sliding doors prevented easy access, iron and board took up one half of the space (iron was too dirty to press well - two occasional chairs were not comfortable to sit in. tried to use internet and it did work but was slow.

Our room was quiet and clean. Staff were friendly. Free Breakfast and parking made for a great deal. Easy walk (or they have a shuttle) to Newark Penn Station. $5 each way to New York Penn Station. 20 min ride.

My first time at this hotel. Everything was almost perfect. The in house restaurant's food was great. The only problem we had was the AC did not work and the room was hotter than I prefer. Other than that, I will return.

Room service used to be the one luxury a guest could get in a hotel if they offered it. It was always expensive but that didn't matter because it came on trays, had silverware and the food was always great. The hotel was generally in good condition and the room was clean and well-appointed with the usual setup. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean and decent quality. Ok, for the price of the hotel, I was expecting more. To get to the hotel from the airport, you go through prob one of the worst and most seedy areas. The front desk lied to our face about a double bed room NOT being available. When I told her that is what I reserved and paid for, one magically became available. My husband and I called Hotels.com when we were a few hours away and they found us exactly what we wanted! It was a nice hotel with friendly staff and great location. The only complaint was that i found the bed to be not so comfy, but thats a personal thing. THe breakfast was yummy and even after we checked out we only had to pay $10 to leave our car […] parked for the day. The walk to the train/bus station was 5 minutes and the bus ride was a breeze. Very good location for Newark airport and NYC

Over all a beautiful hotel, a few cosmetic issues in the room but clean and comfortable. The bathroom really needs working venilation. The hotel restaurant fair in quality but overpriced. Appreciated a working wi-fi, Thank you. All hotel clerks helpful and pleasant.

The hotel is within walking distance to Newark Penn Station, where you can take trains to WTC, Manhattan, and other places in New York. The hotel also provides free shuttle services, which you need to call to be picked up from airport or Penn Station, or they leave the hotel every 30 minute of the hour. Fabulous hotel in an ideal location. Easy access to train station into NYC and Newark airport. Very friendly staff. Rooms looking a little tired and worn, but very clean. Certainly a good size by NY standards. Highly recommend Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall, which is 10 minutes from the hotel. free shuttle to and from the airport and train station. Although […] the train station is much easier to walk to. Twenty minute train ride takes you straight into Penn Station in NYC. Or take the Path Train into the World Trade centre for two dollars. Excellent place to stay when visiting New York. Room was clean and comfortable and they provide a free shuttle to Penn Station ( 15 minutes into Manhatton Penn Station) and the Newark airport. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great value. Good service. Never sycophantic but you got what you asked for. Initially found the restaurant ambience a little less than warm but, after a stay of 5 nights total, became impressed - especially with the bar food and some enthusiastic bar staff. This hotel was very nice and a great value with easy access to NYC - only 4 blocks from Penn Station-Newark. I would definitely book here again. Deluxe continental breakfast offered good variety.

I have never seen a Best Western so nice. I was pleasantly surprised. The amenities and staff were better than I was expecting. Very clean and comfortable. Free shuttle to the PATH train & Newark airport. We did not have breakfast but I bet it was good.

I was very pleased with this Hotel. The staff was great. Very easy to get to and from Penn station. I would deffinately stay here again and recommend to my friends.

The Desk and Management Staff were very friendly, extremely accommodating, and made me feel safe while traveling alone on business. Loved the Exercise Room, Security was great and overall an excellent experience. Your business center was lacking in that the printer was not functional and I couldn't understand why there weren't a few more complimentary […] PC's that didn't require you to pay to use it??? Several serious issues this stay: airport shuttle drove right past me and did not stop, luggage room security was lax, and we had to pack up and change rooms when we extended our stay. We will stay elsewhere next time.

FIRST PROBLEM - dropped off at Airport Best Western by taxi from Cape Liberty Cruise pier. No cooperation between the two hotels and we were waiting 2+ hours for a shuttle to Robert Treat. Then first night we were given a room next to the elevator shaft. Next morning, upon complaint to front desk, were moved to a much nicer room location. My biggest complaint was the parking. There was no valet as promised and parking is so tight that you have to wait upwards of 10 minutes for an attendant to cram your car into a space far away from the hotel entrance, walk around to the front of the hotel, obtain a pass at the front desk and walk back out to give the attendant the pass. Getting out […] is even worse. Once again you have to wait 10-15 minutes while the attendant retrieves your key, and in my case when I finally got to my car I discovered that it was blocked in by other parked cars. I had to wait even longer while they found the keys and moved the vehicles. The parking garage was closed during my stay. Hotel staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Room service was slow. Low price was good, quality of stay was not. Despite asking for a non-smoking room away from the noisy elevator, got one that had both. And it was the size of a postage stamp. When I called the front desk to complain, I was told they were booked up completely and couldn't help. Hotel needs remodeling. Staff was not very helpful.

we stayed in this hotel for one night as our flight as so many others was cancelled due to the recent snow storm.My wife and I would highly reccommend this hotel to anyone heading out to newyork the staff were more than friendly and the hotel itself was kept in immaculate condition.

The shuttle service to Newark Penn Station and Airport was great. Commuting to downtown was not a problem at all. Breakfast was decent. Room was a bit small but clean. Bathroom was a bit awkward as it was difficult to sit on the commode as the toilet paper holder was in the way. Comforter has a ciggarratte burn on it. Free Wi-fi was available. Pros: Very upscale feel in the rooms, clean and well maintained. Staff was very nice and attentive. Fine dining on-site and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center is directly across the street. As others have said, this hotel is fine if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the Manhattan hotels. Just don't expect a lot of activity in the surrounding area (especially at night). Also, there might be some people hanging around on the street corners or bus stops in the evening as well. While at no time did I feel the area was dangerous, […] others from from less urban areas might find this somewhat threatening. Just keep this in mind if you plan on walking back to the hotel in the evening from the train station. I believe there is a hotel shuttle available. I think the big selling point of this hotel is the ease of getting to and from Newark International via rail. It really gives it an edge over comparable hotels in Queens (Long Island City area) or Brooklyn. No bus/rail transfers etc. When looking at air options, keep this in mind when comparing the cost of air/hotel between Newark, LaGuardia or JFK. Good hotel, close to Newark Penn, very good service

The hotel is good value for money offering a complimentary breakfast to all guests - this was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Its location some 3 miles from the Airport meant you got a good nights sleep. The shuttle from/to the airport and the close by Penn Station was every half hour and the driver was most accommodating - nothing […] was too much trouble. From Newark Penn Station it is a 25 minute ride into the heart of New York - $5 each way ($2.25 for seniors). Save yourself hundreds of dollars and stay a little way out and then spend it on things that really matter. Continua a leggere

Good access to PATH - made returning from World Trade Center super easy. Also easy to secure our luggage before check in time. They have the nicest shuttle van to the airport that I have ever ridden in! Room was fine.

The hotel was not bad, the parking on the other hand was terrible. It only had two handicap parking spaces and the other parking was too far away for handicap people..would not recommend it for handicap people!!!

The hotel itself is ok. It is the customer service that is terrible. Shuttle supposedly runs every 30 minutes but after waiting an hour and a half for it to run to get back to the airport we barely made it in time for our flight. The hotel room was fine. Run down a little but not terrible. The bad thing about the room is it would never get cool. The […] ac never worked. The air would come out but it was not cold air at all even though we had it on ac and cool and as low as we could have it. It got rather hot at night and the front desk could not care less about the problem. I called down about 5 times and no one picked up and eventually had to get dressed to go down and let them know the problem. They said they would look into it but did not seem to care. Not one person came to our room during our stay to figure out what was wrong with the ac. Another problem was we were expecting show tickets and it had showed as delivered. Well they told us that if it is not in the computer then it is not delivered. They would not even go to look in their mail pile to double check if it was there or not. They would not even try to look. Well needless to say the day after our broadway show was we got the tickets. No apologies or anything for missing the show or them messing up or not even looking. There explanation was they just found them. Also do not walk the area in the evenings. The main thing that turned us off from this hotel is when my mom went to ask the concierge a question he turned his back to her and just stood there. Did not say anything or what not. My mom eventually got his attention and he said to ask any questions to the front desk. Basically do not stay here as even the location is ok it is not worth the customer service as there is none and you will miss your shows and flights. This was a very nice hotel with an excellent restaurant and lounge (4 star). Convenient location in downtown Newark. Has a shuttle service to and from airport every half hour. Has a business center, workout area, but no pool or hot tub. Nice place.

My husband and I stayed there for one night, as a relative was getting married the next day nearby. Although we could hear emergency vehicles all night long (location, not the hotel itself) we got a great night of sleep, and the service was good. Our favorite part was breakfast - where the sweet ladies in charge made and served chocolate chip cookies […] right out of the oven! This hotel showed its age in the crumbling plaster on the ceiling of our room, but was otherwise beautiful. The location was perfect for our purposes; they have a shuttle to the Newark Penn Station but it's an easy walk. We called for the shuttle twice when we returned late at night - although the neighborhood is well lit, and seemed safe.
