Inviato da Velia F di "Catania, CT" il 25 lug 2011Avevo qualche perplessità per l'estrema economicità della tariffa da riferirsi a 4 persone con inclusa la prima colazione. L'hotel è in ottime condizioni, ben curato, il personale estremamente gentile, la colazione ricca e abbondante. E' presente anche una piccola piscina e una lavanderia per gli ospiti. Bella anche la zona, nei dintorni di un elegante centro commerciale e del museo Henry Ford (che consiglio di visitare) raggiungibili a pochi minuti di auto.

"Think twice before staying here"
The building itself has potential. It does look run down despite a sign saying it was newly renovated. Windows were not clean, dust throughout the hotel and especially the room. The neighborhood is not the best and because there is a lack of safe parking you are forced to pay $20 a night to have your vehicle parked behind the property. I was told there […] was validation for parking but when I checked out I was told that was incorrect and was forced to pay. For the price, even at a discounted rate, the cost was not justified. "Perfect for catching the train"
I was in town for a quick break between trains. The hotel is a super-quick walk to the Amtrak station, which is why I picked it. The service was friendly, though I asked for a 5:00am wake-up call (to catch an early train) and the call didn't come until 5:30. Room was fine, coffee was good. "Good Service and Employees"
The Hotel itself is not that bad. Outdated decor, but nothing serious. On here it says that you get free breakfast. They told me that they stopped doing this last week. This was a factor in chosing this hotel. It is listed as being "Downtown Detroit" technically it is, but it is still about a 15 dollar cab ride to Greektown or Comerica Park areas. The […] fitness center is not located in the hotel but is located about a block and a half away. I wanted to go workout on Sunday morning, when I felt safe to walk around that neighborhood, but it didn't open until noon. Also, you need to pay 12 dollars to use the facility then they will refund your money. I decided the next night to spend a bit more money at the Greektown Casino Hotel, the little bit more money was well worth it as you don't need to cab anywhere that you would want to go, plus they gave us betting vouchers and free breakfast. Plus here there is a mandatory 20 dollar valet parking, Greektown is free parking. This hotel isn't bad, but if you're interested in going out to the casinos or other parts of the downtown, spend the extra little bit and stay closer. One thing that stood out for my girlfriend is that she said there was cold dripping water that dripped from above the shower while she was in it. "Alternative to staying in downtown"
This a a grand old hotel that has been renovated somewhat recently. Our room was nothing out of the ordinary but much nicer than the age of the hotel would lead you to believe. The windows are not that efficient but closing the blind keeps the sun, draft and noise at bay. The bathroom has been completely remodeled. It would have been nice to have a […] mini fridge in the room but ice was close by. iPod docking alarm clock and wifi worked fine as well. The restaurant didn't get a high score for breakfast. We were an hour waiting. It turns out that someone in the kitchen didn't show up for work that day. The waitress was doing everything as best she could but where was the management to solve the problem and explain it to the guests? Best part of our stay was the staff. Genuinely nice people, always polite and accommodating. I'd certainly stay here again but the food and bev team has some work to do before I'd eat here again. We stayed for one night to attend an event near by. The stay and everything about the hotel was just fine. Its close to Wayne State and the Motown Museum. "Great Location for Henry Ford Hospital"
The location of this hotel is the only reason to stay here. It is so close to Henry Ford Hospital and it's offices. We checked in on New Years Day and found upon check in at 4:00 pm that the restuarant was closed until the next morning. We had to order pizza and have it delivered to our room or venture out to find a restuarant in downtown Detroit! Not […] what we two women had in mind. When we went up to our room we found one bed instead of the two queens which we had a reservation for. We had to call down and have our room changed,which was fine. The new rooms heating system was not working properly and we could not get the temperature below 72 degrees even with the heat turned off!!! It was a very warm night. We don't travell much. We usually look for cheaper hotels. We are retired and on pension. I travel more than my wife, Have attended a few conventions in Toronto, London, St. Catharines, Midland, Niagara Falls, Windsor, Sarnia and in 2011, I was in Nashville. These hotels are usually at the high end, Royal York, Hilton, Marriott, Best Western, Holiday […] Inn Suites. Have also stayed at Super 8, Comfort Inn, and just plan run down hotels. All we are looking for in a room is something comfortable and clean. For the size, I found the staff very professional and curious, food in the restaurant excellent. My wife usually doesn't say too much about the food, but she said it was the best she ever had. Best sleep she has had for some time. I needed an inexpensive place to stay while in town for a family function. Having always loved the St.Regis as a child it seemed like the obvious choice. I booked the room and then read some pretty nerve-wracking reviews but decided to stick with my plan to stay. I'm so glad I did! Everyone was so helpful, from the front desk to Don, the valet. This is my second stay at Hotel St. Regis. I've been pleased each time that I've stayed here. The room is always in good condition, with up to date amenities. "Not bad if you're doing business in Detroit"
Rate was great for the area, only 10 minutes from downtown casino area, and has great food onsite with a CVS a half block away.
