Comfort Inn Georgia Ave/DC Gateway Silver Spring

Not a good choice- Silver Spring has plenty of hotels closer to Downtown and the Comfort Inn was unclean, poorly-run, and generally unpleasant. I would not stay here again.

The Stay was great; however the air conditioner broke consquently we had to move out of the room. My coat was left in the room. When going back to get it, it was gone. A new coat.

I love this location, staff is friendly.. only thing I notice was a 10 charge for parking.. it was raining that night and made it alittle difficult to mov my bags from my vehical..I wish for the extra ten I could have got a hand.. but all in all great experince once I got unloaded

I found the staff to be extremely helpful. made sure that we had everything thst we needed.

Attractive rate; helpful staff; 24-hr coffee in lobby; free, hot breakfast; walking distance from Metro atation. Minor complaints: sometimes needed to insert key-card more than once to unlock door; sometimes lost interconnection despite strong WiFi signal. There are at least 5 Ethiopian restaurants nearby.

The Hotel staff here is formidable, very eager to answer your questions and help. A bit noisy if your room is facing Georgia Avenue. I would recommend. If you are driving, you dont have to pay the additional $10 to park in the very small parking within premise. Stayed there for a couple of nights in December. Nice little hotel, a bit close to Georgia Avenue if you're a light sleeper, but I have to say the service is excellent! First, we were given a room that we requested (in the back, so it's quieter). Then, when it turned out that our room did not have hot water, the staff went out of their way to help - […] calling us to check if running the water for awhile would get the hot water going, then finding us a replacement room. It turned out that in the new room the internet connection was weak - no problem, they found us another room. No complaints, no excuses. The hotel itself is your standard 3-star fare, but it's the staff service that makes it an excellent choice. Pretty good value, too. Continua a leggere

Everybody at the inn were very friendly. the breakfast buffet was GREAT. we would stay there agian. the only thing I didn't care for was the 10.00 dollar fee for parking.

My room was clean, well-appointed and in good shape. It happened to be near the elevator, so a quiet train seemed to go my occasionally, but it didn't really bother me at all. Free breakfast and internet: a big plus. It's about 15 minutes from the Silver Spring metro walking. Or catch the ubiquitous #70 buses.

The hotel was in a great location to the DC tourist sites and to Howard University. The staff did a great job at making my guest and I have a pleasant & comfortable stay. Job Well Done! If I ever get that way again, I look forward to staying in this hotel again.

great little hotel to stay if you have business to do in Washington DC. Staff was very friendly, free shuttle service to trainstation and pick up during business hours were great. I felt safe walking at any time of the day and night to and from the train station (white female). Only drawback: breakfast would have been nicer to be served on proper plates […] rather than using only plastic cutlery, plates, cups etc. Other than that, I would definitely return to the Comfort Inn, Georgia Ave, Silver Spring! Hotel is a little on the older side (narrow halls, smallish elevator) but perfectly fine if your just looking to get some rest. immediate neighborhood isn't the best with what appeared to be questionable characters hanging around. Did not like the fact that parking was extra - Ten dollars/night.

I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Comfort Inn the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The Hotel manager went out of his way to make sure our stay was pleasant. Last year i stayed at the Days Inn next door but o found this to be a step up..........parking was a little crazy but the Valet made it work....see you next year.

Room was large and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to others for a short stay. Only negative was that the lobby smelled like stale smoke.

The beds were very comfortable I liked the pillows they were so soft. Had a 7-11 right next door. Had a washer and dryer. Had a hot breakfast every morning. It was a very good hotel and not very far from the Wheaton Mall. Restaurants and fast food within walking distance. I would stay there again.

The hotel was a middle of the road hotel. It was clean and comfortable enough, and the staff was helpful. The parking was totally inadequate, and even though we paid extra for a parking space we didn't seem to be assured a spot. There didn't appear to be a system in place to make sure those who paid actually received a reserved spot. Very good value, clean, well appointed room, comfortable bed. Card key required to enter front entrance, or prior to checking in, the attention of the full-time lobby security guard. A bit of a rough neighborhood. Would stay again.

I booked this hotel for one main reason: its proximity to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where I had a meeting. In this regard it met and exceeded my expectations. While the lobby is not much to look at, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and comfort of my room. The bed was great; the desk was very functional (with complimentary Wi-Fi -- which […] is a big plus in my book -- I cannot stand those so-called 'business hotels' that charge $10-15 extra per day for internet access); and the bathroom was perfectly nice. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast for a hotel at this level. Beyond the very nice room, I was also pleased with the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff. The front desk personnel were very polite and courteous, and the 'jewel in the crown' was the complimentary shuttle service to Walter Reed. The driver was so friendly and helpful -- much more so than I would ever have anticipated. For the most part the hotel was what I expected. However, it was very awkward trying to iron with it strapped down to the ironing board. Irons come really cheap now days and can be easily replaced.

The service was very poor. The management was rude and unwilling to aid in comforting the guests at the hotel. The appearance of the lobby was very unkept, cluttered, and uninviting. The valet service was unorganized, lazy, and almost gave me the keys to someone else car. I was satisfied with the hotel

This hotel was very old and it showed. It looked like they attempted to renovate but ran out of money. The TV didnt work in my room, the bathroom had no water presure. They say complimentary breakfast but your choices are a waffle, cold hard boilded eggs, or donuts. Parking is extremely limited and bad for big vehicles. There is no overflow parking […] either. I was extremely satisfied with the hotel. I've stayed at other Comfort Inns around the US and they all have been excellent. The price I paid was good and the staff was great. Definitely would recommend this hotel!

I felt it was a bit overpriced for what I got.

Overall Hotel is good. But, need improvement in front desk. Front desk person was not polite.

Room was comfortable and kept clean. Hotel staff very hekpful. Breakfast room a bit snug. Very convenient location, close to downtown, Metro/bus station and major roads.

Very limited parking available in premises.

This motel is in a seedy neighborhood and the building itself is superannuated. But the rooms are clean and attractive, and the staff is helpful. A busload of kids arrived as we did, and the room clerk kindly gave us aroom at the far back of the top (5th) floor, where it was very quiet. i still think the price is hign for the hotel located in MD, but i should say the service is excellent, and the breakfast definetely is not average continental breakfast in Europe, it is much better. I didnt have the refrigeartor in the room, and that was bad. having only breakfast in the hotel you need to keep some of the stuff in the fridge. Internet […] speed-very very high. It is 15 min walk from the Silver Spring metro station, no shuttle, i was said there is a bus going to the metro, but i didnt happen to use it, either walked ot take a cab.
