This hotel was walking distance to everything. The room had no windows looking out to the piazza but since we were always out it didn't bother us. The bed could have been more comfortable. Everything else was good.

Hotel Roma doesn't hype it's location enough. It's, well, perfect. Right in the middle of Florence, but looking out into a HUGE, beautiful piazza (town square). It's like having your own grassy front yard, in the middle of a cramped medieval city. The hotel is perfectly sufficient and nice, but I'd give it 3.5 stars over 4. Hotel Roma is very conveniently located on Piazza Santa Maria Novella a short five minute walk from Firenze SMN train station and within easy walking distance of all sights. Good hotel for late night arrivals to Firenze via train. Very pleasant staff, helpful. Breakfast buffet will keep you going until afternoon. Standard European rooms, sizes, amenities. […] etc. Clean. Only drawback is wifi - asking 7,00 Euro per 24 hour (continuous, not only when online). Becomes pricey when doing online reservations for sights or planning next day(s) travels. We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Roma, only downside was that the wireless internet did not work,but the hotel did refund the charge. They tried to fix it. It is located near the Pont Vecchio and Pitti Palace that area must see. There are also several museums such as the Uffizi that should be viewed,but be sure to get reservations in advance to avoid […] a long-line. The Santa Maria Novella church is beautiful and even though the square was under construction it was still nice to sit and eat cheese, desserts and wine on a warm day. The hotel has a nice breakfast, mostly cold foods and traditional meat,crossiants,boiled eggs,and yogurt. It is included in the cost of the room. Chose this hotel for it's proximity to the train station. Check-in was smooth, room was clean and spacious. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, especially with booking of day tours. Buffet breakfast, which was included with the room, was good. The hotel was less than a 10 minute walk from the Duomo, very convenient.

Great location for sites, dining and train station. We were on the 1st floor and you could hear a lot of road noise, but besdie that it was a pretty good selection to stay at. Remember that the hotels in Italy aren't like the ones in the USA.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Roma. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. Nice large bathroom. The breakfast buffet had a lot of choices, and the food was delicious. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice little place right off the square next to the train station. Great location, a bit away from the tourist scene but a nice walk to the bridges and the sites. The WiFi is kinda expensive per day - kinda tough if you're on a work trip and need the access - and requires you to go back to the front desk for another access card.

I was in Florence for 3 days with an under 12 year old. I was very happy with the hotel and the helpful friendly staff. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The location was excellent, close to all the sites and to the train station. There were plenty of good restaurants and cafes / bars just a step away. This is an excellent hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Great location (3 blocks from central market, 4 blocks from the Duomo), spacious rooms, great amenities. When my air conditioning refused to turn off (!!), they changed my room right away. I had a great stay there. Cannot comment on the breakfast because I didn't have it.

We stayed at seven 4 star hotels throughout our trip and this was our least favorite. We don't feel that it was a good value for the room we received. We were given an attic room with a window on the ceiling, unoperable. The bed was too soft and bouncy with outdated bedding. However, the room size was decent and the bathroom was spacious. The shower […] soaked the bathroom floor. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was it's proximity to the train station. The location was great for those traveling by train. The morning breakfast buffet was good with a variety of breads, cereals, and fruit. Overall this hotel was just okay, nothing fancy, but not terrible. Continua a leggere

Very close to the train. Nice lobby, friendly staff. Decent breakfast in the basement breakfast area. Although we did not have a room with a view, the A/C worked great. It was easily 90 degrees F when we were there. Internet was so-so and was about $10 per day.

We had to change rooms to find one where the air cinditioner worked. The room we switched to had water fawcett handles that came off in your hand. The place looked good but really needs some attention to details.

Excellent location - convienent to great restaurants and amazing sights! Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was helpful with suggestions for restaurants and tours! Taxi stand was convienently located across the street for our return trip to the airport.

I stayed 3 nights at Hotel Roma in Florence in May 2010. The location is good, on Piazza Santa Maria Novella, a short walk from the train station (great if you have big suitcases) and also close to just about everything else. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I never had the breakfast so I can't comment on it. The room was big and clean. My room […] wasn't facing the square, so it wasn't noisy at all, but the drawback was there was little natural light coming in. Other than that, it was great, and I would definitely come here again. Great location. A five minute walk to the Firenze SMN Train Station, and about a 10-15 minute walk to the Duomo. The rooms had a very old classical feel to it, but not run down or dirty. The rooms were very clean. Concierge was very helpful and friendly, as well as the staff that coordinated breakfast. Would stay here again.

Hotel Roma's location is convenient to the train station and because it's on a piazza, has the added luxury of an open space in which to relax at night...or any time. The interior is beautifully decorated in marble, brass and wood. Our room, a "triple", was smaller than expected, however. The air conditioning could work better, but it did cool off the […] room. The breakfast room is charming and the buffet selection good. The staff in all parts of the hotel are friendly, accommodating and helpful. I would go back to Hotel Roma any time and would even stay in the same room, as long as I didn't have to share it. If I were to request a "triple " again, I'd ask for a bigger room. Le décor très riche de l'hôtel habille en fait un bâtiment simple; vous trouverez en entrant à droite le bureau d'accueil, à gauche le salon d'attente, au sous sol la salle des petits déjeuners et aux étages les chambres (pas d'espace extérieur...). Sa situation est idéale pour visiter Florence, proche mais pas trop près des sites touristiques ... Le […] petit déjeuner est correct sans plus... L'hôtel est très propre et très bien tenu. Les chambres dont les fenêtres donnent sur la place peuvent être bruyantes la nuit (vous renseigner à l'hôtel si vous êtes sensibles au bruit) Globalement notre séjour à l'hôtel ROMA à été satisfaisant. Var i Firenze 5 dager i oktober på bryllupsreise. Valgte hotellet p.g.a beliggenheten. Det er svært enkelt å komme til hotellet fra flyplassen. Ta "flybussen" på høyre side av utgangen(kan kjøpe billett på bussen). Denne tar deg til jernbanestasjonen. Derfra er det bare 5 minutters gange til hotellet. Hold til venstre for kirken og sving inn på Piazza […] Santa Maria Novella. Hotellet ligger i enden på venstre side. Vi fikk en positiv overraskelse da vi sjekket inn. Resepsjonisten var fra Norge! Hun hadde bodd 13 år i byen. Gjennom hele oppholdet fikk vi "insider" tips. Hun anbefalte oss bla. dagstur med buss til Siena, San Gimignano og Pisa. Hun kom og med tips om steder å spise og f.eks leketøysbutikk. Meget nyttig! Rommet hadde vindu mot torget og det var litt støy p.g.a arbeid med å legge stein. Regner med at arbeidet nå er avsluttet. Rommene var av grei størrelse og sengene var gode. Minibar på rommet. Frokosten var "typisk" italiensk. Ikke skandinavisk standard. Men den var mer enn god nok. Baren på hotellet var litt dyrere enn baren rundt hjørnet. Drikkevarer/snacks kan og handles i minimarked rett ved hotellet. Alt byen har å tilby er innen gåavstand fra Hotel Roma. Anbefaler en gåtur til Piazzale Michelangelo. Gå over til andre side av elva Arno og i rettning bort fra hotellet. Følg så skilt. Utsikten over byen er verd strevet(eller ta buss nr 13). San Lorenzo markede (hall med matvarer) er en fantastisk plass å kjøpe lunch eller bare for å se . Det ligger 10 min fra hotellet. For å oppsummere. Et flott hotell som ligger sentralt i Firenze. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, vielfältiges Frühstücksbuffet, geräumiges Doppelzimmer als Einzelzimmer benutzbar, trotz momentaner Baustelle direkt vor dem Hotel keine störenden Lärmemissionen. Alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten in Gehdistanz gut erreichbar.

Buen hotel en muy buen lugar. Lo recomiendo, Nos trataron muy bien, en especial las personas de la recepción.

I stayed for 4 days/nights. Great service, super hotel, big rooms, splendid breakfast.. Hopefully, this will be "fixed" next time: - Very hot / to hight temperature in the gangway/corridors. - Wireless internet to the rooms, did not reach my computer, so - I needed to sit in the corridor/gangway to get connected..and this was HOT.. Yes, I have to admit […] it..a lot of noise from the streets to late at night..I stayed in the winter, march month, and I could have windows closed. Most quiet time to get sleep, is 02.30.. Great bed, cleaning, room-service.... Recommended, yes.. Continua a leggere
