All around the hotel road construction was going on which highly limited the accessibility by car. The entire square outside the hotel was fenced in. Parking was possible in the garage across the street but was expensive. Nice breakfast, nice garden. Huge bed, a bit to hard as are most Italian beds. Very friendly and helpful staff. The service was fantastic from everyone. The room was comfortable and clean. Really enjoyed our stay here.

My sister and I were traveling by ourselves, we walked to the shopping area in the daytime and it was ok, but we went to dinner that evening at Mario bucco right down the street about 1/2 mile and the neighborhood was a little iffy. Our first trip to Florence and we were extremely pleased with this hotel. The staff was beyond friendly and welcoming. Everyone went a step beyond to ensure our stay was great and that we saw the best of the city. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay.

One word......Superb service, good food.

Really nice hotel, slightly away from the centre of Florence, but with a great pool and garden and a 15 minute walk away form the Duomo. However, very expensive services and room service ( but that might be Florence). If you afford it, stay at the other Leading Hotel of the world- The Savoy which is superior and VERY central

Our room was very spacious, especially by European standards. The lobby area is modern and nice. Staff was helpful. A little walk (12-15 minutes) to the heart of town, but Florence is pretty small so this was not a problem or concern. Also, you can walk from train station. Probably took about 8-10 minutes. The Grand Hotel Villa Medici is an old style upscale hotel situated within walking distance from the train station and downtown Florence sites, attractions and night life. The staff is all very friendly, conversant and eager to go the extra mile to serve. Fortuneately, there are endless tratorias, restaurants and wine bars within easy walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to those who enjoy the grand hotels that once dominated major cities around the world. If you are looking for modern, trendy architecture, you might be disappoined. This is an older hotel on the outer edge of the tourist district. The hotel seemed virtually empty. We only saw a few guests the whole 2 days we were there. The lobby was deserted most of the time. Breakfast was included and was excellent. We ate at the hotel for dinner one night and it was great, service was great too. The service at the hotel was outstanding, and the hotel was beautiful. But there was little to eat nearby and the hotel food was extremely expensive--so I ate little for the five days we stayed there.

Hotellet ligger 10 minutters gang fra de flotte indkøbsgader, men tilgengæld med ro og en hyggelig lille have med pool. Super søde medarbejder gør opholdet til en fornøjelse. Finn W Taarbæk

Excellent and friendly service, staff very accomodating and helpful. Beautiful and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Fluffy pillows and a decent duvet - not just a thin sheet :-) The outdoor pool is very small, but is surrounded by a beautiful garden where you can have a drink and a snack/light food. Grand Hotel Villa Medici ligger meget centralt i Firenze. Man er tæt på alle seværdigheder og til det hele i gå afstand. Villa Medici er et dejligt imødekommende hotel hvor man med det samme føler sig velkommen. Deres service er på højt niveau og uden på nogen måde at være påtrængende. Hotellets værelser er velindrettede i gammel Italiensk stil og alt […] er rent og pænt. Der er en dejlig have med en fin mindre swimingpool. Hotellet kan varmt anbefales til alle. Continua a leggere

Overordnet et rigtig godt hotel med rimelig god beliggenhed i forhold til afstanden til centrum. Hotellet var dog beliggende i et noget trist kvarter/nabolag, som man skulle gå igennen før man kom til det Firenze vi forventede. Dejligt poolområde, som måske var lidt lille i forhold til antallet af værelser på hotellet. Hotelservicen var på alle plan […] i top og de havde en dejlig restaurant. Selve hotellet er en perle. Luksuriøst og venligt. Godt værelse, godt badeværelse, rigeligt med plads, smuk have, afskærmet fra byen. Selvom hotellet ligger en lille smule udenfor det egentlige centrum, er beliggenheden i top. Det var roligt, men samtidig er der rigeligt med rigtig gode spisemuligheder i nærheden. (Hotellets beliggenhed virker som […] om den er lige præcis mellem et mere "folkeligt" område af Firenzes bymidte og så et mere "ambassadepræget" kvarter.) Hotellet er i overkommelig gå-afstand fra Firenzes hovedbanegård - men virker til at have parkeringsfaciliteter foran. Continua a leggere

Gammelt men flot stiligt hotel centralt beliggende med høj personlig og venlig service. Vi valgte det bl.a. på grund af swimminggpool, men der er i forhold til hotellets størrelse ikke mange pladser ved swinningpoolen - måske ca. 20 liggestole, hvilket vi valgte ikke at konkurrere med de øvrige gæster om.

Dette hotel er rigtigt godt - er også på listen over de 200 bedste hoteller i verden. beliggenheden er fredelig og der er en dejlig have med pool, hvor der også kan nydes morgenmad og aftensmad. Kvarteret op til hotellet er med en del etniske butikker, men er meget fredeligt. Vi vil med sikkerhed bo her igen

Lækkert hotel med god beliggenhed. Store velindrettede værelser med høj standard af rengøring. Lille men lækker pool samt ditto fittness-rum + sauna - er er alle faciliteter! Super service. Men hvorfor i al verden er morgenmaden ikke inkluderet??? Morgenmaden er ganske dyr og vi valgte at spise ude, men restauranten er ganske hyggelig.
