I stayed there for my boyfriend's birthday. Service was excellent in every way. After check-in we had afternoon dimsum buffet at Min Jiang restaurant within the hotel compound. It is legend that the last tiger in Singapore was shot on the grounds of The Goodwood Park Hotel. Whilst it may well be true there is one thing that is very much alive at Goodwood Park, charming old world class and service. Having driven for some 7 hours from Malaysia into Singapore, I was quite happy to except just about any standard of Hotel upon […] my arrival. Happily I was greeted like an old friend and I was quickly escorted to my room by possibly on of the best door men I have ever experienced. Polite banter with interesting history of Goodwood Park made the journey to my room only part of their personal service. After a much needed hot shower I felt refreshed and ready for high tea. Served amongst the classy timber panel walls of the main hall and looking towards the swimming pool through the colonial glass doors, one could not help but feel that the hustle and bustle of Orchard road was a million miles away. Over the next two days I enjoyed similar outstanding service from the valet parking through to helpful hints on negotiating Singapore's tricky roads. Always greeted with a smile and a cheery, 'Hello Sir', wherever I ventured around the Goodwood, I left with the knowledge that one day soon I will return to The Goodwood Park Hotel. Excellent hotel. Quiet, clean with 2 wonderful swimming pools and helpful, friendly staff. A little oasis away from the frentic Orchard Road which is literally 5 minutes away. This was a very nice hotel. The king size beds were large enough to accommodate my spouse and 1 year old child. The rooms were clean and there was a universal power point which was a nice touch. The hotel is situated very close to Orchard Road and the Orchard MRT station. Everything at the hotel is 5 star and the staff cannot be too helpful. Hotel looks very impression and I'm guessing that in its day it was stunning. Staff were excellent but the room was a little disappointing. Very tidy and looked good, but smelt very damp. The bed felt wet but we were so tired we just slept. When we woke up in the morning our passports were had curled up so i guess our noses were correct. Great hotel with modern facilitlies in a fabulous old style building. Two fabulous pools and many great eating areas. Excellent location close to Orchard Road with shopping and hawker style food stores within a short walk. Also close to the MRT. Staff were exceedingly helpful. However, you have to pay for internet access which I think is not very good. […] My room was very large and the bed was enormous. Tea making facilities were provided and complimentary water was provided every day. There was no iron and ironing board in the room although I presume that one would have been provided on request. This is a classy hotel without being stuffy. I was fortunate to get an unsolicited room upgrade which was good PR because the room was excellent and gave me a very good impression of the hotel. Being able to use a 'convenience room' after checking out before my late evening flight was also appreciated.

The Goodwood Park is a cut above the crowd. In a concrete jungle of Singapore hotels this is an oasis of calm. In the last 20 years I've stayed in many of its rivals but hadn't been back to the Goodwood for a decade, so I gave it a try. It's been updated sensitively and breathes comfort. I was upgraded to a small corner suite with a view of the pool. […] I found the staff pleasant and helpful. The turndown service was efficient but not intrusive. Best of all, it's quiet. I ate breakfast a la carte and was pleasantly surprised by top quality hot poached eggs with bacon, freshly made brown toast and proper fresh coffee. Take note, big brand hotels with indifferent mass breakfast service! The Goodwood Park isn't cheap but for atmosphere, location and comfort it's a serious contender in a busy market. It was a most pleasant 8 day stay and we will be returning . The staff are excellent and allowed us to get into a room after getting to the hotel arounf 7.00am. The room size is excellent and we had a great room near the little pool. Also handy to our shopping needs. I cannot say enough about the staff as bent over backwards for us. Great holiday.

Stay was okay but the room was disappointing. It was very dark, being at the very back of the hotel. The extra bed was a collapsable bed rather than a 3 bedded room. everything was an extra! found an empty can of diet coke in mini bar that we hadn't had. No problem taking it off the bill but it shouldn't have been there. when we were there the corridor […] was extremely musty, either a leak or just very damp carpets. if I stayed again I would want to request a very specific room location with more light. staff very polite. An iconic hotel, a century old, in the middle of the hyper commercial area of Orchard road. An oasis of palm trees and calm! It would however need a lift up and wireless internet not sold at an excessive price.

I can only speak from my personal experience of booking a deluxe room at the Goodwood Park on three occasions this year also an extra room for my son & his wife who live & work in Singapore. The staff are friendly, polite & helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is set in its own grounds close to Singapore's busy, exciting city centre. Spacious […] public areas include two swimming pools, restaurants, a coffee shop, bar & create a relaxing chilled out atmosphere ideal after a busy day on business, shopping or sightseeing. The second floor deluxe room (which the hotel staff know we like) has a balcony with chairs & table overlooks the smaller of the two swimming pools. Rooms are large, could easily fit a family. green space around the pool is nice for kids and both the pools have large shallow (0.5m) ends perfect for kids and toddlers.

It was a lovely experience staying here. The staff were always courteous and helpful. The hotel itself, characterised by its link to colonial Singapore, had all the modern conveniences expected of a hotel in the 21st century. The buffet breakfasts provided a plethora of choices suitable for all palates. The proximity of the hotel to the main shopping […] district and the MRT was a real plus, even better was that it was far enough away that crowds thinned out, making it a bit of an oasis that the Marriott down the road can't claim to be!. On the downside, the food was a little over-priced for what it was. There was evidently a shortage of sparkling wines (SGD25.00 a glass compared to SGD19.00 for a Singapore Sling), and as we were there over a weekend, the Goodwood is obviously one of the key places in Singapore to hold weddings, many of which were conducted on the terrace by the main pool, making us, at least, feel uncomfortable about using it through Saturday and Sunday. Regular visitor to Singapore. Stayed at Goodwood Sept 2012. We were really looking forward to staying at the Goodwood as it has a reputation for luxury and service. It wasn't terrible but for the price it could only be described as disappointing. Some of the staff were nice but most could have done with some customer service training. I have stayed […] in cheaper, nicer hotels that included free breakfast, a free newspaper, free laundry and free snacks. None of these things were included at the Goodwood. Some things were just a joke. $30 per day for Wi-Fi access and $7.50 for a single scoop of ice-cream via room service. The room was passable but not as nice as expected and nothing like the pics shown when booking online. May be worth checking out if you are a history buff otherwise I would say keep looking. Cannot fault this hotel. We had a very comfortable and luxurious stay although I wish we could have stayed longer, one night wasn't enough. The staff are very helpful and professional. Proximity to Orchard Road is excellent. I far prefer a smaller boutique style hotel to the large glitzy but impersonal hotels. We definitely recommend it.

I paid in advance for a pool view room. Check in was a nightmare! A rude male member of staff told me I had no booking, sent me to a room overlooking buildings and said I had NOT paid in advance. Even when I explained it was through an agent he would not listen and then proceeded to tell me that I had 'EVEN' quoted a wrong room rate! I replied but this […] is a PREVIOUS booking from two weeks ago. He simply said 'oh'. I had to go up five floors to find out I was in the wrong room and go back down and explain again. He took payment from my card again even though I explained that I had already paid. I went to my room and had to use the ineternet to check my booking, I also had to telephone the agent and the agent telephoned the hotel to confirm that I HAD indeed paid upfront. I went back to the desk to speak to the Duty Manager and again explain that I should not be charged for going on the internet as the only reason I did was to confirm a booking that the hotel failed to find. The Manager...the second that evening to apologise profuslely said that indeed the charges for internet would be taken off and offered me a late check out. Check out? The internet charge was there on the bill, I explained the when I said 'but the Manager assured me that I will NOT be charged for the internet' he said 'so who is going to pay the charges then? We must contact the Manager who told you this and get her to pay the charges!!! Bad bad service!. BE WARNED! Continua a leggere

This was our second stay at the hotel and it re-confirmed our feeling that it is as good as can be. The staff is warm and helpful from desk to maintenance. Wonderful service from the time we stepped out of the taxi we were welcomed to the hotel and nothing was too much trouble for all the staff we encountered. The room was close to the Mayfair pool and was a much needed restful oasis after shopping and sightseeing in Singapore. My only disappointment was that I would have liked to have made use of the […] gym and they were renovating so I had to go over to the York. it was a bit inconvenient as it meant waiting at their Reception for the key to their gym, although it was good to have that provided I would have preferred to have been at the Goodwood gym. Family of 5 adults visiting as tourists found the Goodwood Park a pleasant and well located hotel. Singapore is an expressive city and we found the Goodwood a good value. I would recommend for someone not wanting to stay and pay for the most expensive hotels to look at this as a good alternative for at considerable cost savings.
