The Westin Colonnade - Coral Gables Coral Gables

Arrived on a Friday evening and was greeted by very helpful staff from the valet to the front desk. The front desk got involved with a surprise that my girl friend was arranging for my birthday. Really enjoyable place to stay in a good area of Miami. We would definitely stay again the next time we're in town.

Decided to play it safe and stay the night at the reception destination. Hotel was very nice, staff was courteous, reception was beautiful. We had set our room to 60 but when we returned it was still warm. Management quickly moved us to a new room. A very nice experience overall for an overnight stay.

Hotel is under renovation and we were in a room that was clearly partly or not yet rehabbed. Walked past large fans and other signs of rehab work. Sheets, towels etc were all great but furnishings were shabby, parts of room were grubby and even a little dirty, there was dirt in the bottom of the ice bucket and had to request a new one. Both Friday and […] Saturday night there were pot smokers a couple of rooms away. Fortunately our room was very big with a windy entrance which kept the smell from the sleeping area. Person who delivered ice bucket, assistant mgr, smelled pot too but clearly did not address it though we did not ask him to. Staff was very responsive to any requests though. Right off miracle mile in downtown coral gables! Close to Starbucks, Einstein bagels, great shopping and fantastic restaurants. Love the area. Safe and convenient. When I can't afford the Biltmore this is my choice!

This is a fairly typical business hotel. Nothing very interesting about. The pillows seemed a bit flat and because they did not use fitted sheets, the bottom sheet kept bunching up along with the unfitted mattress pad. However, it was clean and the price was very reasonable.

Enjoyed it! Highly recommend it. The only suggestion is that you make room service available 24 hrs a day, inasmuch as the coffee shop closes early. Highly recommend it.

After a flight delay and late dinner we ended up in bed at 12.30am rather exhausted. At 3am on the dot we were rudely awakended by the 'party' next door in the room adjoining ours. There must have been a dozen people in and outside the room spilling out into the corridor, drinking, shouting, laughing at 3am!! Several calls requesting security deal with […] this was fruitless. A final call about 3.40am demanding they call the police before things really get nasty resulted in quiet finally at 4am. It took a full hour and several calls to front desk to finally get some sleep. Simply unacceptable. The walls are very thin which did not help. Didn't think management handled this well at all. I am still astounded at the selfishness and ignorance of these hotels guests. We picked the hotel for proximity to our favourite restaurant - Hillstone and convenience of Coral Gables but if you can't get a good nighs sleep then what's the point. Continua a leggere

My husband and I visited the area for a quick weekend getaway. We were put in a room that was near a construction site so there was loud drilling around 10 the next morning. was horrible this morning. And the staff did not care, say I am sorry, etc. They just handed me a letter from the GM saying the elevators were being worked on. Oue room is no here near an elevator. The room was fine, and the neighborhood was good, but the roomservice really annoyed me. I ordered a beer with my dinner after sleeping 3 hours in two days. Then, the dingy roomservice person wouldn't accept my ID! TSA, car rental, and even the front desk accepted my ID, but not this woman.. When I asked her to just remove it from my bill, her boss […] and HER boss came up to my room at 11:30 at night and gave me excuses. Completely ridiculous and inconvenient and rude. Rooms are fairly current in decor but building while old and renovated feels dusty. Room cleanliness is about a 3 out of 5. No real lobby to speak of, have to go out to area busisnesses. Ok for sleep, quick 1 or 2 nights if you are doing business in downtown coral Gables and need no car, being dropped off and picked up by a local. The room was very clean and quiet, and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby was beautiful and the room was quite spacious considering I reserved the standard room. I love the location of the hotel, right off miracle mile where you can find nice shops and dining. My only gripe is that the room and hallways were a bit on the warmer side […] (hence the 4 star rating as opposed to 5). I didn't complain or ask for a room change because it wasn't such a big enough deal to me. I highly recommend this hotel and will probably be staying here again. Positive experience, everyone was very accommodating. The hotel was clean, the room was big comfortable. I forgot some toiletries and the concierge disappeared and came back with what I needed. I will definitely be back.

This was a great experience overall.... I found everyone to be very personable, the room great, overall I was very impressed. We had our two small dogs, and the hotel was very receptive to them. Great!

Great Hotel, I Loved it! Vallet was fast with vehicles, room was clean, the 2 shower heads were great. It is only about 15-20 minutes to Miami beach which was perfect.

The room was fabulous-clean and comfortable. The most annoying thing about this hotel however, was how they charge extra for everything! $3 for a bottle of water in the room, $1 for paper in the office, outrageous charges for wi-fi. And, they overcharged us and we needed to get it fixed for 2 rooms before we left.

Our stay was terrible. My first room smelled like BO, the carpet was wet, toothpaste was in the sink and the toilet was clearly not cleaned. The staff was very kind and attentive though and moved me to another room that wasn't much better. The following morning, they decide to rip up the carpeting while we were grabbing breakfast. Overall nice stay once we got settled. However, we were given a king room (vs. the double we had requested) upon arrival. So after waiting for a double room to be made up, we were moved...but right next to the elevator...we had asked to NOT be put next to the elevator...very loud. Waited again for another clean room. The bathrooms could use some work and more upkeep. Little details make the difference like water pressure (very little) and the shower heads didn't work very well.

We have stayed at Westin hotels in other parts of the country and overseas. This one does not compare in amenities. It has only one restaurant, no coffee or regular bars to catch a snack or listen to some music. The lobby is common with a commercial building. Location is good as it is surrounded by restaurants. From the moment I arrived in the hotel the entire staff was absolutely awesome. Very pleasant and always willing to help. I got sick during my stay and ordered room service most evenings. The food was delicious and the chef always followed with a phone call to make sure everything was as ordered. I was also given a large tray of fruits free of charge to welcome me to the area. I must say I was delighted with how helpful everyone was. The bed was dreamy. I slept very comfortably. Nice and clean room with polite and friendly staff. Pool and hot tub on the second floor as well as a very nice work out room. Everyone tried to make our stay nice. I think this hotel is a very good value. We will stay there again when we are in the area.
