"THE BEST IN SAN FRANCISCO"
Ho soggiornato all'hotel clift a settembre 2011! Continua a leggere
"Un albergo bellissimo"
La hall è una vera favola. Anche le camere sono molto confortevoli. Unica nota dolente del Clift sono i bagni delle camere: sembrano bagni ma restrutturati in 20 anni!!!
"Clift--good but not great"
The only downside to the Clift is room comfort--the couch in the sitting area was a true back breaker - 2 inches of cheap foam over hard plywood...chairs are built for very small people. Bed is very uncomfortable--they need to buy their beds from the folks who supply the Four Seasons--now theres a bed! other than that the hotel- after numerous return […] visits - is still great---very good staff - good food and a great bar-----actually -one of the best bar scenes in the country--unless of course you're over 50--then you'll feel like the Father Figure in the room....which may not be a bad thing. "Funky and Fantastic"
Great hotel. Excellent location close to Union Square and nearby shops and restaurants. The Staff were all very friendly and the concierge was very helpful arranging our dinner booking (where we were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary champagne courtesy of our concierge) and recommending a nearby wine bar which was fabulous. The room size […] was quite spacious and made good use of mirrors to make it appear more so. The bathroom was quite small but the shower had fantastic pressure. We stayed 4 nights and could not have been more pleased with our choice. Continua a leggere

"Bit of a drag"
We were expecting a high-class hotel after all the good reviews and cool pictures in hotel website but the reality was a nightclub/bordello-like middle level hotel with shabby, tiny rooms. Decor in the rooms was tacky with lavender and beige tones with outdated carpet, bathtub and TV. The fact that WiFi is not comlimentary is also ridiculous at this […] price point! On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable, room quiet and the location of the hotel is convenient. Continua a leggere

"Best Hotel in SF"
This is definitely the best hotel in SF, a block away from Union Square. It has beautiful architecture with GREAT interiors (Lobby, great bar, rooms) The only downside is that WiFi is not free its $15 per day which of the price of the night should be free as many other luxurious hotels worldwide.
"Great for location"
I was disappointed by this hotel, to say the least. The reviews we read were great! The foyer/lobby was amazing, as per the pictures. Then you get to your floor and there was obviously a sale on lilac paint! It's everywhere! The room was tiny, but nice (and lilac). There is only room enough for unpacking your shoes and hanging clothes. No drawers anywhere! […] The bathroom was tiny and tired - great shower though. Can't fault location as it's close to Union Square. I would only stay here again if It was for a day or two. We stayed six nights. Continua a leggere

"Clift Hotel"
Just not worth the money. Had a bit of a problem with management . Wouldnt stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
"If the kimptons are not avail"
The lobby is gorg and the staff is awesome, but only stayed here bcuz kimptons, ritz carltons, vitale and others all booked. In retro spect, would have paid extra duckets for other poss options. Rooms are small and look beat. Bathrooms are spartan.
"Rooms $$$, are small and charge for Wifi."
Be ready for a small room and a big fee for wifi.
"Clift San Fran"
great Hotel, trendy, great decor, good ambience.
"Great hotel"
I was very happy with this hotel. It was very clean and the room was spacious. The location was great - very close to Union Square and tourist spots. Lots of nice places to eat nearby. The staff were all very friendly.
"overall very satisfied"
overall very satisfied
"Nice hotel, rooms need work"
Very trendy hotel; however, the rooms did not meet the standard of the hotel. Would still recommend it.

Internet is expensive and connection very unstable. The bathroom is too small and old fashion.
"Great location for shopping, food, tour, safe"
safe to walk around even late at nite. shopping haven and very freindly people around when asking for direction. room very clean and friendly staff.
"Well located, well decorated but limited services"
It's a very nice hotel, everything was perfect, except the price for the phone calls and no free access to internet (A pity knowing that we are in 2012)
"Designhotel Clift"
We stayed for a week and had a wonderful room in the top floor with a view. Clift hotel has a great design, the reception area with lounge furniture, fire place and the popular red wood room is perfect. Along with the modern room design, friendly hotel staff and location only 2 blocks from Union Square we enjoyed our stay very much. Many thanks to John […] for the friendly welcome and service at check-in. Continua a leggere

"so impressed...."
lovely hotel, lovely staff, the redroom is a classy, hip place - I will be back.
"Great overall SF hotel and bar"
Great service, great hotel, great bar... You've kind of got everything in one place here. Everyone is super friendly, especially the bellman. The bar was busy and a great scene and the location is unbeatable. Usually my first choice to stay when I want to have fun in SF.
"Amazing location"
The hotel room that was given to me was quite large and honestly talking it was comfortable. However, I do have several points: first, although the the bath-room was clean, it is really old designed and need to be updated. Second, the room door and windows are biscuit I.e. It is kinda annoying noting that every weekend a minor demonstration takes place […] at the end of the street from 7am to 8am which is really disturbing. Last, the wifi is not free of charge. Other than that, I recommend the hotel for people who is looking to be in the middle of down town (around 3 blocks from Union Square). Continua a leggere

"Very nice modern hotel"
Very nice modern in general. A different concept, very beautiful. Everything very good (location, personal, clean, quiet, etc.) Only two minor points: -Internet was expensive and even though with access problems (not VPN, even with the highest rate!) - I would suggest the owner to provide some furniture with at least one drawer.

"Past its prime"
I will preface my comments by saying that I have sometimes stayed in Morgans Hotels for years and I "get" both the appeal as well as what the expectations should be. This is my fifth visit to the Clift but my first in 4 years. The allure is over, the hotel's condition is beat and the staff unfriendly...after all, you are lucky to be staying in such […] a cool place. The bar is so crowded you can't hope to get in, so although you are a hotel guest, if you want to have a nightcap you look elsewhere in the neighborhood. On Saturday night, the line to get in snaked around the street, and it consisted of as my SF local friend said, "the bridge and tunnel crowd". It feels to me like Morgans has stopped caring about the Clift as a hotel, and sees its future as serving a younger generation that doesn't really care about the Schrager aesthetic. "Nice hotel"
Nice hotel, convenient location IF you want to stay in close to Union Square, which isn't a bad idea if in town only for a few days. Nice decor. Rooms not huge, but who cares.
"Clift"
The Clift...a very Morgans hotel. It was near to where I needed to be - the SF Civic, and close by to so many other things (like almost any place in downtown SF). The hotel was very nice; the room service food was great. It is on the edge of the Tenderloin district, but even that offers a true touch of the SF street scene.
"Modernized classic"
The Clift is a great old San Francisco classic, modernized by the Morgans chain. Centrally located near Union Square in the Theatre District, it is excellent for theatre goers and shoppers, and a good central location for seeing the rest of the City and the Bay Area. It is, however, a tad close to the central City's sketchier neighborhood and not really […] proximate to a BART station. There are a number of restaurants open 24 hours on the block -- terrific if you are up at late hours, perhaps noisy if you are a light sleeper on a low floor. Our deluxe room was large and comfortable; I can't comment on the basic room. Room appoinments were minimal (the walls are bare save for mirrors and flat panel TV), but adequate. Common areas are decorated in an edgy fashion, particularly the neon colored walls of the elevators -- this is not the hush toned lobby of the Clift of yore. Service was excellent, also in a modern sort of way, with knowledgeable concierge staff and prompt room service. The Redwood Room Bar, only slightly updated, is still the best in San Francisco. Great for a leisure trip to San Francisco, not sure it remains a top spot for the businessperson that does not care to combine pleasure with business. Continua a leggere
"The Clift Hotel - San Fransisco - December 2011"
The hotel is in a great location. Very funky bar and downstairs. Rooms are okay. The deluxe king was a decent size but looks a backpacker-ish for my liking. You are not guaranteed a table or seat at the hotel bar as a guest there because they allow outsiders to purchase bottle service and take all the tables. Found this really annoying on Friday night. […] I am sure Saturday and Sunday would be the same. As a guest I don't expect to have to buy a bottle of something I don't want to drink to reserve a table. Guests should always get first rights to the hotel bar seating. Continua a leggere
"Great place"
The Clift is a great hotel. Good location in the middle of everything, great design, but most importantly very friendly, helpful and efficient people - especially at the front desk. I will make sure to stay there again next time I come to San Francisco.

"For the money, stay somewhere else"
The Clift is an old hotel once you get past the cool factor of the bottom floor. The rooms were a dissapointment, especially for the price you pay. Go stay at a Klimpton Hotel, better / hipper rooms for the price.
"Hotel Clift, downtown San Francisco"
Rooms and staff excellent. The feted Starck lobby and reception areas have fashionable low lighting, but the overall effect is so tremendously gloomy that it is hard to appreciate the objets d'art or indeed see much at all. Hotel is fine and reasonably priced for its location two blocks from Union Square, but food seems somewhat exorbitant. The really […] annoying aspect was that Wifi was charged at 15$ per day. Considering that every cheap motel throws in Wifi for free and that one usually needs only limited connection per day, this seems complete rip off. Continua a leggere
