Hotel ok, vicino alla metro. porte di vetro tipo saloon per il bagno, poca privacy. personale molto gentile, avevo l'aria condizionata rotta in camera (puo' capitare) la camera mi e' stata subito cambiata.nel complesso ci ritornerei. ristorante con vista sull'acropoli!

Hotel confortevole e molto ben tenuto. L'unico neo è che e' lontano dal centro di Atene e la zona intorno non è delle migliori - è a circa 2O minuti di cammino dal centro città. Buona ed abbondante anche la colazione ( city breakfast da 7 euro)

Hotel confortevole, ben arredato, pulito, piscina in terrazza panoramica che guarda al partenone. Lounge Bar e ristorante in terazza. A due isolati la metropolitana e il supermarket Carrefour di tutto fornito. Colazione non inclusa, troppo cara a buffet o al bar. Quartiere prevalentemente musulmano, tranquillo di giorno. A notte tarda meglio tornare […] in hotel in taxi che non sono dispendiosi (da diversi punti del quartiere Plaka abbiamo pagato dai € 4, agli 8 max. Ci sono solo uomini ai chioschi agli angoli delle strade che bevono fino a tardi, qualcuno strafatto si addormenta sui marciapiedi. Non è un bello spettacolo da vedere. Noi eravamo 2 donne e una ragazzina di 13 anni e ci siamo trovate benissimo e con zero rischi organizzandoci col taxi. L'hotel è molto bello, allineato allo standard della catena di cui fa parte. Servizio cortese ed accurato, Molto gradevole, anche se un pò piccola, la piscina all'ultimo piano, impagabile dopo una giornata in giro per Atene. Dotato di garage sotterraneo privato, direi fondamentale. Unica pecca il posizionamento, all'interno di un quartiere piuttosto […] degradato. Per la verità Atene in generale è una città nè bella nè pulita, se escludiamo acropoli e zone limitrofe. Tuttavia è proprio un peccato uscire da un hotel così bello e trovarsi di fronte a palazzi fatiscenti, negozi abbandonati e cumuli di immondizia. Non credo sia un quartiere "pericoloso", forse solo brutto, ma consiglio comunque di tenere un profilo basso e muoversi in gruppo dopo il calar del sole. Continua a leggere

Avendo già pernottato in altri Novotel in Europa conoscevamo lo standard delle camere e sapevamo che la posizione dell'hotel sarebbe stata decentrata. Tuttavia non ci aspettavamo che il Novotel Athens si potesse trovare in una zona così degradata. Seguendo le istruzioni del Novotel per raggiungere l'hotel dall'aeroporto, si deve percorrere il tratto […] finale a piedi (abbastanza lungo) in un quartiere "molto degradato" che in un primo momento può incutere anche un pò di preoccupazione. Hotel consigliabilissimo, soprattutto in caso di famiglia con 2 figli minorenni, ospitati nell astessa stanza utilizzando il comodo divano letto a 2 piazze. Colazione a buffet molto assortita. Per quanto riguarda la locazione, il problema principale riguarda non tanto il quartiere circostante (siamo passati anche di sera tardi senza alcun problema) […] quanto la difficolta' a raggiungerlo con mezzi pubblici: la stazione della metro piu' vicina (LARISSA) dista meno di 1 KM ed e' semplice da trovare, ma solo dopo che si hanno opportune indicazioni o cartina con fermate metro. Questo e' importante soprattutto per chi arriva la sera da Porto o Aeroporto ed in mancanza di info deve affidarsi al taxi, non propriamente economico (30 euro dal Porto a fronte di circa 15 minuti di viaggio e 10 fermate di metro, molto di piu' dall'aeroporto). Assolutamente da non perdere la vista sul Partenone la sera dalla terrazza con piscina! Continua a leggere

Poor location in rundown area really lets this fantastic hotel down. But it is just 10 minutes walk from Larissa Metro, and 10 minutes walk from the National Archaeological Museum. The area to avoid from the hotel is the walk down to Omonio Metro, which is frequented by prostitutes and drug addicts. We as a family did actually make this walk at 11 AM […] on Christmas Morning and whilst we didn't see any drug addicts, we did see evidence of their being there, and unfortunately the prostitutes were already out on the streets. Whilst we did not feel threatened at all, it was not a comfortable experience for my wife and children. Either take a taxi, (approximately 5 Euro) from the hotel or walk down to Larisssa Metro if you want to travel around the city, the walk down to Larissa is no problem at all. The hotel is fantastic, clean, modern, and with good facilities, and the breakfast is worth including in your room. We found the hotel rather warm as they had switched off the AC for the winter, but the staff went out of their way to find us a cooler room, ending up with us being upgraded to a suite (we were there for 12 days!). We cannot praise the staff enough, from the reception, through chamber maids, restaurants staff, they all go the extra mile to provide a fantastically welcoming and comfortable stay. This is a great, comfortable, modern choice in Athens. It is a little out of the way and the surrounding area is a little sketchy but the hotel, the rooftop pool and the view are priceless. There is actually nothing really wrong with this hotel (a few minor bits of repair work would be nice, touch-ups really) and the majority of the staff were pleasant and helpful. However, food and drinks were very expensive and this was exacerbated by the fact that it was not easy or cheap to get to a better part fo the city to eat and drink - there […] was nowhere nearby and I would not have felt safe walking out in the area at night unless in a group of people. Further to above the hotel is situated in a horrible area that felt extremely unsafe, especially at night, and even though the hotel itself was pleasant enough I woud not stay there again. To confirm my thoughts, on the 2 nights we did go out by taxi, on both occasions, the taxi drivers put up the windows and locked the doors in the immediate vicinity of the hotel (from a couple of streets away) telling us that it was a very bad area. However, once in the hotel, you would not know you were in such an awful area apart from looking out of your hotel window. We ate at the hotel a couple of times (evening and daytime) and the food was good but as I said earlier (especially the feeling of being confined due to the area) it was far too expensive. Hotel was very easy to get to and offered free parking in a garage which was nice. We only stayed one night at this hotel and for this limited time the hotel was fone. Very clean, decent location (close to subway which could get you anywhere you wanted to go). THe only minus was the outrages prices at the pool bar.

great hotel close to all the main sites the hotel has bar and swimming pool on the top floor that you can see a 360 view of the city the rooms are clean and nice and have a out side sitting area with each room and are very roomy

I enjoyed the hotel! Very nice, very clean, and close to the metro. Delicious Food! Great pool (the lounge chairs fill up quickly in the afternoon). The only problem I had was with the neighborhood. It was very run down and desolate... mostly because of the crisis. I was told by a local that a couple years back the area was filled with nice hotels and […] shops, which are all closed now. The facilities are all there for this to be a great hotel but something was lacking. We arrived late and checked into our room which was a smoking room and we had requested non smoking. It smelt to bad so we asked to change rooms which was fine. In the next room there was no remote for the tv and it could not be operated by the buttons on the tv itself. […] Shower was barely a dribble. However the pool area on the roof was great but after having our dinner (in the hotel which was very good) we wanted to go up to the pool area to see the acropolis lit up at night but it was locked which was dissapointing. The free internet stations in the lobby were very useful. Staff were ok not that outgoing but answered all our questions well enough. No problem with hotel itself but the location is very serious and dangerous area. We were assualted and suffered serious injuries. We had to cut short our holiday and go back home. It is a great hotel in a wrong area. Staff are great and helpful and they will do their best to make you feel home and comfortable.

Overall it is a very nice hotel. The staff are helpful. The roof bar was amazing, just a shame that it does not open until June. Nonetheless we were allowed to use it and bring our own drinks. I was disapointed with the storage space in the room. If you are planning on staying for longer than a couple of nights and like to carry a full suitcase you […] will have difficulties storing your clothes. The breakfast was really good so it is worth paying a little bit extra for it. The area is ok, I had read a lot of comments from people saying how bad it was so I was a bit sceptic, however having been there I now totally disagree with those comments. It might not be the best area in Athens but we walked from the underground station to the hotel every night and I never felt unsafe. As a frequent traveller I was very disappointed with the poor standard of the room at Novotel, Athens. It was not even close to a 3 star rating. Overall the room was run down and after having reqested a non smoking room, specially as I was on holiday with my family, I was given a very offensive smelling "smokers room". TV was faulty. Minifridge did […] not work. carpets were VERY dirty. Pillows were absolutely horrible. Bed linen was not up to the minimum expected standard. Had to make my coffee in the virtuallly flexible plastic cups. No spoons. Tea / coffee was not replaced daily, unless requested. When I asked if I could take a quick snack and a drink very early in the morning, it was not clearly stated that this was extra, so I ended up paying 14 euros for a 3 minute breakfast. Otherwise the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

One of the nicest hotels I ve stayed in Athens.Staff is great,service of a 5 star,and the room very spacious-I had booked a superior room.The only kind of negative point is the area around the hotel. Walking there late at night makes you feel uncomfortable but nothing to worry too much.I ll go back definatelly.

I would have given a very nice review of the Novotel but I can't. The staff members were horrible, they did not smile and acted as if they did not want to be there. None of them seem that interested in anything, The room itself was okay and relatively clean but I don't think I quite like the frosted glass door for the bathroom. The Airconditioning in […] my room was not very cold but I never actually complained simply because they weren't approachable. I had to leave the window open at night but then the street below never sleeps there was constantly noise 24/7 cars, bike and people shouting being that its a not so nice area. The morning after I first checked in, the lady who replenishes the mini bar in the rooms burst into my room with her own key and without knocking shouting "Mini Bar Mini Bar" I was so furious. After she opened the door and saw me then she knocked on the open door still shouting mini bar, I was so shocked and couldnt speak for a bit, then when she was leaving with not as much as a sorry, I called her back and said not to do that again but instead she pointed to me putting the "Do not Disturb". I complained about this later in the evening by phone to a gentleman at the reception, instead of an apology, all I got was he knew the Mini bar lady very well and how she works, so I must have been sleeping and didn't hear her even though I said I wasn't. A Classic Novotel hotel, good service and quality staff. Very good breakfast and close to the subway. no the down side: no air condition in Athens in April ??? and poor noise insulation in the room. overall positive stay .

We love Novotel for its family friendly policies. Staff members were very friendly. The breakfast was fantastic at reasonable price. The hotel is conveniently located. Though the surrounding area is a bit run down, it shouldn't bother a tourist. We hired a double room. The rooms were huge. Kids loved XBox station in the lobby.
