I recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria to celebrate my special birthday. My daughter had emailed to say it was a special occasion and when we booked in we were given vouchers to enjoy a cocktail at the hotel bar. The staff were very helpful and the room on the 26th floor very comfortable

Beautiful historic hotel with great service. We were able to check in early and were upgraded to the Towers, without even asking. The room was charming with what looked like many of the historic fixtures. My only complaint was that the mattress was not as comfortable as I expected. Overall, it was a great experience.

A gresat hotel, however it's very large and busy. If you are looking for modern this is not your style. Charming and classic with a deep history. We will definitely return!

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The Sunday Brunch was absolutely fabulous and not to be missed. The rooms, however, badly let the hotel down - very much in need of tlc despite the statement of two years' renovations having been completed - they must still be getting round to ours! Yes, the lobby is gorgeous. After that - no big deal and not worth the 20% premium to similar places. - 10 minute wait at check-in as they do not have enough desk staff - The room service menu was missing from my room. It took over 30 minutes for them to bring one, and by then i just gave up because who knew how long the food would take. - Everything […] from food to spa service is 25% more than other 4 star hotels. - Of course it is not a bad place - it just is no big deal and not worth paying extra for, Continua a leggere

We had an excellent room in the towers, it is worth the extra money

Lobby is classic but the room, our was on the 9th floor, had no view of anything and was not especially clean. Disappointed but location was perfect.

i think the hotel is excellent, but the bar prices are atrocious! they take full advantage of a captive market. my girlfriend and i had 2 drinks each and our tab was $99.00 with tip!

Enjoyed staying in the old world hotel atmosphere the Waldorf offers.

Exceptional in every respect!!! Great combination of updated comfort and friendly, terrific service with the glorious history of the Waldorf. Both are incorporated seamlessly. Highly recommended!!

This is my third stay at the Waldorf, and each experience is consistently fantastic. GREAT hotel!

The location was perfect for a trip as a tourist. Close to food, walking distance from a lot of sights, Central Park, FAO, Time Square, Empire State Building... We loved it. ONLY complaint I had was the room never cooled down enough for me, but otherwise, the hotel is amazing and is the only place we will stay when we return.

I arrived at the Waldorf and was met by the doorman. The staff was courteous , very professional and warm. This was an amazing experience for me as I'm a degreed Interior Designer and the authentic, historic Art Deco decor was an unbelievable treat for me. The hotel has an air of history--- and elegance. I could not have been happier with my stay although […] the concierge was a bit "standoffish" when I inquired about directions to a local cathedral. I expected a little bit more from the Waldorf Astoria (AH) given its reputation. This hotel is rich in history and you definitely get what you pay for at this hotel. For example, there is no free WiFi. That seems to be typical for a hotel located in the center of the city, but hotels further away from the center of the city do offer free WiFi. The […] fitness center at the WA is typical for most hotels. They do have free snacks at the center such as breakfast bars and apples, but the apples were bruised and generally did not taste very good. If they are going to continue to offer that service, they should keep the bars and either buy better apples or serve something else. Who wants to eat/see bad apples? Also, I stayed in several rooms and all of the shower heads seemed to leak in some way. This is not a big deal, but we are talking about the WA...not motel 6. If this was any other hotel, this hotel would have been gotten an overall rating of 3.5 stars. In my opinion, there are nicer places to stay in NYC and as of this review, I have stayed at 6 different hotels in NYC thanks to my job. Also, I stayed in this hotel for 7 nights. For the weekend, I was supposed to change rooms several times so I asked the concierge if she could arrange it so I would only stay in one room for the last weekend. She happily made the accommodations and told me that my room would be much bigger/nicer than the one I stayed in previously. Enjoyed our recent stay at the Waldorf which is still a grand entrance to New York and near many of the sights. Had a room up in the Towers for a tremendous view up Park Avenue. Nice bathroom with good shower pressure, robe and toiletries. However, they forgot to clean our room, there was a jackhammer drilling above us on the scaffolding, and the parked […] car took 50 minutes to get and the baggage man couldn't find our bags. The Waldorf always lives up to its reputation. Its elegance personified. The staff is attentive and always smiling. I wish sometimes the room rates were not so pricey. Many times I cannot stay because it goes over my budget

Some friends and I stayed at this hotel over St. Patrick's Day weekend. The hotel is in a great location for visitors to NYC. The hotel was clean, the staff were extremely nice and helpful and we got a great deal through Hotels.com. Some cons: the hotel is showing very slight aging that shows through the gorgeous decor & the amenities (brunch, bar, […] etc.) are way over priced. I'm still extremely impressed w/ the hotel though! I have to say I was very surprised to receive the quality of hotel that I received for a great price considering New York is one of the most expensive cities in the world. All around a perfect stay!

It was just very exclusive and made one feel special. The other good part was the proximity to all the downtown Manhattan hotspots and the Central park

This is the first time I stayed at the WA after several visits to the bar and restaurants. I stayed in a Queen Suite for the week. I LOVED IT. My room was quite large by NYC standards - very comfortable bed, generous desk and work area, large TV. The bathroom also had generous room and special soaps and shampoo. The best thing about the hotel is it […] is a walking history book. It is also a wonder for lovers of architecture. The details, the millwork, the fixtures, the art and flooring are fabulous. Very classy and elegant. I also enjoyed the shops and the convenient Starbucks located in the lobby. This was my second time staying at the Waldorf, and both visits have been great. I would definitely recommend this hotel , although it's not very close to affordable restaurants and bars.

There is no escaping the fact that the Waldorf is an icon. Room was nice, we got a free upgrade. It is old style "luxury", modern design hotels are more comfortable but less charming. Paying extra for wifi felt annoying, should be included. We passed on the Sunday brunch which cost 95 usd per person, but it sure looks nice. There is a Starbucks at the […] entrance. All in all great to have been there, but the highpoint was probably the uniformed doorman politely but loudly wishing us "Most warmly welcome to the Waldorf Astoria, sir!" Continua a leggere

The hotel location was great and hotel was grand. The staff were friendly and willingly to help guest. The most comfortable and quietest bed. Nice shops inside the hotel.

Luxurious,elegant,old world charm with modern service and convienience

Grand old hotel filled with history. Great location to shopping, subway, uptown and downtown. Room was very clean and spacious with the only issue being I wish the shower got slightly warmer water (no big deal).

great hotel, wonderful rooms and service, the heat is hard to cotrol, only thing they need to look at.

The Waldorf Astoria was just as wonderful as we hoped it would be for our girl's trip to New York! It was in a great location, very comfy and quite clean. From the front desk to the concierge we received nothing but first class service. Every dinner recommendation or subway help was right on.

I liked it very much. The traditional style also the location. The doors do bang a bit when your trying to sleep. The bar was very good and the service at the front desk and the Concierge.

This hotel is of course grand and historical and the lobby is beautiful but otherwise the hotel and rooms are dated. I was there for a business conference and unfortunately was subjected to the food purchased by the group organizer which was not very good. The location of the hotel however is wonderful and you can walk to many restaurants and shops. […] I will say it is very hard to get a cab from this hotel. Both nights I was there we had to walk to our location and it was cold and rainy. The staff were very helpful especially at the front desk. The business center personnel were not very friendly or helpful however that is a FedEx Kinkos so may not be Waldorf employees. Continua a leggere

Someone famous once quoted " darlink give me Park Avenue. The Waldorf was exceptionally good. Close to all the high end stores, Central Park, Times Square and brilliant restaurants. If you enjoy walking to really explore NYC and returning "home " of an evening to quality accommodation the Waldorf=Astoria is for you. The service is not over the top, […] nor should it be. The Historical purpose of the hotel is fascinating even if you are not a history buff, and where I would normally select a modern alternative the Waldorf=Astoria is NYC. I was not able to attend the Saturday morning historical walk of the hotel, it would have been excellent to have visited the Ballrooms and the behind the scene areas. Our room (915) was spacious, clean, quiet and well kept, and the daily housekeeping kept us well stocked with fresh towels and our King bed was made daily. Fantastic Hotel, comfortable bed and pillows. Staff were very friendly and helpful! A place you must stay! The whole family enjoyed their stay. Took our 4 yr old and 1 year old, great experience :)

We had a beautiful king size room, huge, espacially by New York standards. Service was excellen, location perfect, The only complain is about the bathroom amenities. Everything is outdated, the bath tub, the shower head, the tiles. There was nothing luxurious about that bathroom. Oh, well... The hotel is a historic landmark and it is grand.
