"Motel 6 Washinton DC"Inviato da Marco di "Rimini" il 3 dic 2011
La permanenza è stata molto piacevole, lo staff è molto cortese e le stanze molto pulite; si trova in una zona periferica ma in un quartiere residenziale tranquillo con una fermata della metro (Takoma) a pochi minuti a piedi oppure sempre dalla stazione metro il bus 52 ferma proprio difronte Motel 6. Il parcheggio è gratuito ed anche l'uso della postazione internet.

Georgetown è la massima espressione cosmopolita di Washington D.C. Qui pezzi grossi della Beltway tengono banco in raffinati ristoranti lungo M Street, una caotica via principale per lo shopping. Vi sono una ventina di bar alla moda. La Georgetown University domina il lato occidentale, mentre la rivale George Washington University occupa una porzione di Foggy Bottom. In questa zona si trovano gli uffici dei principali studi legali, società e della Banca Mondiale.

camera grandissima, in ottime condizioni. Quartiere tranquillo, ma a 5 minuti a piedi da Gerogetown con un sacco di negozi e ristoranti. Un pò più distante dal Mall, ma con 10 $ di taxi o 5 minuti di bus ci si arriva tranquillamente.

wASHINGTON HA UNA PIANTA SOLO APPARENTEMENTE SEMPLICE. L'HOTEL SI TROVA A BREVE DISTANZA DALLA METRO, ESSENZIALE PER RAGGIUNGERE I PRINCIPALI SITI SENZA STANCARSI TROPPO.

We thought it was very nice..immaculate accommodations..with a very personal touch!..was very surprised to find out that there was a fee to have our car parked in the garage..nothing was ever discussed or in writing that we were going to b charged an additional $40 per nite to garage my vehicle..that was very surprising to myself and my husband..a bit […] of a disappointment.the management slipped a notice under our door during the night before we checked out..I wish we would have known this prior to booking our stay.because it might have changed our mind regarding our stay at the Melrose hotel..I just feel that the info we were given wasn't 100% factual.. Charming hotel
The tub looked liked someone poured bleach on the dirt and didnt clean it. The wall paper was peeling in some areas. The housekeeping lady came knocking on my door at 11am to clean,my room when check out is at 12. I felt disrespected due to the fact my friends and I were profiled. The night manager saw us coming in and we were talking and he went off […] saying "you better tone it down we know you are from the 6th floor and we got complaints on Friday about you". "Nice hotel, but under some rennovations underway"
The Melrose continues to be a fine hotel in a convenient DC location. However, while its bar is being rennovated the lobby appearance is less than inviting. Hopefully, this construction will be completed soon. Also, we were assigned a handicap room for our recent stay. "Like Living in a Great Neighborhood"
A very warm and comfortable feeling, in a lovely and vibrant N.W. Washington neighborhood, short walk to METRO and Georgetown.
"Decent place, convenient to Metro"
Hotel lobby was being renovated, so it was crowded and a little noisy. Room was ok, bed was too soft for our liking, and it could have used some updates (peeling wallpaper, stained carpet). TV service was intermittent sometimes, guessing they have satellite service and it rained for most of our trip. Quick walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro station, restaurants […] were very close. This was a 7 day sight seeing vacation, great location, friendly staff. Check in and check out was fast. Bed comfortable and room tastefully decorated. Definitely would recommend .
A+++ -- excellent location; friendly staff. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

"melrose hotel on penn nw"
I was very disappointed with this hotel. The website describes a beautiful spacious hotel. Yet the lobby is cut in half and there are very limited services. The restaurant is unattractive and very expensive. Rooms are small and in need of updating. Bathrooms are very outdated. No vending machines. HVAC is not very effective.
"Romm Downgraded"
My mother and I have an annual Mother/Daughter weekend get away. I booked the room at this hotel for a King Suite. My mother arrived several hours before me (since we are coming from different areas of the country). When she arrived she had to wait 15 minutes while the front desk staff "fixed" our reservation. What really happened was that they downgraded […] our room from a King Suite to a Double Bed Standard, moved our room from one with a view and placed us right next to the very loud elevator. It might not have been noticable if they had not given her a copy of the paperwork with our original room information crossed out on it. When she inquired about the change they shrugged. Would have liked a better valet parking rate. I believe forty per night is too high for guests.

Pro: Good location - on the edge of Georgetown and easy walk to Foggy Bottom subway stop for downtown. And Con: decor is old, AC didn't work and things generally look shabby.

"DC Melrose"
I was deciding between this hotel and another hotel with equal star rating. This offered the bigger discount so we went for it. We were expecting to get a 4.5 star hotel at a 3.5 star price. We were startled by how curt the staff was at reception. Additionally, as we were checking in we overheard another staff member arguing with someone on the phone. […] Then on the way back out for the evening, we overheard the first staff member arguing with a guest at the hotel, yelling from the reception desk to the elevators. We were not pleased with this even though we were not the object of their fury. The room was clean enough, but this is a really old hotel, not just the way it's decorated but also the condition of the building. Overall, I've seen better service at lower-rated hotels, and the condition of the hotel did not impress me. I paid way under what the suggested rate of the room was, so I guess I really can't complain, but it's unlikely I'd ever stay there again or recommend it to friends. Continua a leggere

My only complaint would be that the room was very warm. And it wasn't even summer. We were there in April, warmest day was 66degrees. No A/C that I saw; thermostat was fan only from what I could tell. I am always cold, so me complaining about it being too warm is very unusual. Other than that location was great, easy walk to Georgetown and from memorials […] and monuments. Metro is close by too so if you don't want to walk. Continua a leggere

a nice hotel in a good location with very good staff who treated us right. The price was moderate and that was much appreciated. The restaurant was decent but the price of the high of the food. Overall, an excellent experience

"Great location and easy access to the monuments"
This hotel is located in Foggy Bottom/Georgetown. Up the street are swanky shops and restaurants. I recommend Serendipity for dinner and especially dessert. In the other direction is Whole Foods and the metro. The National Mall is an easy metro ride away. The subway system in DC is very new and clean--totally lacking the charm of NYC subways. Great location, accommodating staff! Rooms are showing a bit of wear but you cannot beat the location and friendly staff. Will definitely return.

Very nice hotel very near to Foggy Bottom Metro. Price varies somewhat but this time the rate was quite reasonable.

"Excellent Location with Room to Improve"
The Melrose Hotel is in a wonderful location within DC. We enjoyed walking to the riverfront, as the hotel is just over the bridge from Georgetown. The staff were all very friendly, with prompt service. We requested a crib for our 6 month old daughter, and they quickly delivered one to our room after check-in. We stayed 2 nights. The first night there […] were no problems. On the second day, we showered and left the hotel for the day. Upon our return to our room, it stunk of garbage/sewage. It appeared that the carpet near the bathroom was wet. We weren't sure if that was where the smell was coming from, but we requested a new room at the front desk and were able to switch to a different room on the same floor. This hotel could definitely use some updating. It is not especially stroller/wheelchair friendly, as you have to go up 3-4 stairs to get to the elevators and the elevators are rather small. "Tremendous location and great price"
We were in DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival and 10 mile race. We wanted a hotel in a great location at a great price and that is exactly what we got. The hotel is relatively tight quarters but ample for our needs even with our 10 month old. The nearby Trader Joe's was great. Desk people were extremely helpful and the location really cannot be beat […] for visiting Georgetown, hoping on the Metro and visiting the National Mall. "Our Georgetown Hotel"
A very nice hotel. Well sound-proofed rooms. Especially convenient is the valet parking. It was an extra$40 but it removed the great parking ticket headache and they garaged the car until three the next day. Pay it and forget it. "Strange room, and not the cleanest, but convenient"
This hotel is handy if you need access to Georgetown or Foggy Bottom, and it's very reasonably priced. My room had a rather bizarre layout, but it was comfortable enough. Biggest issue was stains on the sheets, which were pretty vile. Other than that, no complaints.

Friendly staffs. We flew in on a red eye flight and arrived early in the morning. Our double room is not avaliable., but they let us check in to a king room to get freshen up. Then moved us to our room in the afternoon.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting DC. The main reason is the proximity to the Foggy Bottom Metro as well as Georgetown. In addition, the Mall is walking distance in decent weather.
