The Metropolitan Inn Salt Lake City

Arrivare alla struttura se si proviene dalla I-25 è molto semplice, solo pochi isolati dallo svincolo. Su nostra specificarichiesta abbiamo ottenuto una stanza al piano terreno, la 111, molto ben isolata acusticamente e degnamente arredata. Cinque isolati, più o meno una decina di minuti a piedi, e si arriva a Temple Square. Ci sono anche hotel più […] vicini ma il rapporto qualità/prezzo fa del Metropolitan Inn una scelta azzeccata. Peccato che la colazione venga offerta nella hall, che non eccelle per ampiezza (solo tre tavolini con sgabelli alti) e che non sia il massimo in fatto di scelta. Se arrivate di sabato, non perdetevi il concerto (gratuito) della domenicamattina alle 9.30 al Presbiterio Mormone di Temple Square. Circa 200 coristi e 70 musicisti, oltre ad un'acustica ed effetti-luce straordinari, vi doneranno brividi raramente eguagliabili. Continua a leggere

I am glad I was only there one night, I travel at least two weeks a month and I will not be back here.

Hotel is clean. Location is fine. Room is very nice. Bed is comfortable and has a layer of memory foam which makes it very comfortable for me at least. Bathroom was nice with quality clean towels. Only down side is the free breakfast is not much of a breakfast. It is one of the most minimal free breakfasts I have seen offered at a hotel. The hotel could use a little updating. The pool and hot tub are closed. They need a lot of work so if they would take care of these problems it would be a nice hotel.

We had an awesome time and it had a lot to do with the Metropolitan Inn and its staff and location. Having never been to SLC before, the front desk staff was extremely helpful in directing us to fun things within the city. At the end of the day we had a wondeful room and bed to sleep in even though we were right next to the gas station it didnt even […] bother us. This is not my first time staying there and it will not be my last. Room heats up quick and the bed is the best. They must have changed the bedding type because it is softer than I remember. Oh, and they changed the soaps from Bath & Body to something paraben free with a spa like aroma - very responsible hotel.

Very close to downtown. Beds are very nice and free parking.

The Little America hotel was booked so I ended up at this hotel. While the rooms are small, they are clean and extremely comfortable with the pillows and the temp. king beds. Great sleep. Convenient location right in downtown and about a block away from the Traxx station. This is a great hotel for the value and I would highly recommend for business […] travelers where you aren't staying in your room other than to do some catchup work and sleep. Very old room, thread bare sheets and towels, very old decorations and furniture. Still a convenient location to downtown but I would only stay if nothing else is available or if I had to go cheap.

I really enjoyed my stay here while in Salt Lake City. The front desk staff was very helpful and the hotel very comfortable. It was within walking distance of many downtown attractions and restraunts.

The beds were definitely comfortable, the rooms were clean and the area is safe and well within walking distance. The ONLY complaint I have is that the doors are metal and uninsulated so they do a poor job of holding back outside noise. With this in mind, if someone is standing outside your door talking, you WILL hear it in your room. Excellent customer service and is close to downtown. Excellent beds although the rooms are a little small, but not bad if you are not hanging out in your room all day. They also have bagels and fruit for breakfast. Definitely worth the money and probabaly the best deal in downtown Salt Lake City.

The room is nice overall. We got a king size bed and it's a memory form! The only problem was the bathroom fan didn't work.

Excellent tempur-pedic beds make this a great sleeper, but poor quality breakfast (compared to even cheaper hotel chains) make it imperfect. Nice service, decent soaps and shampoo.

The hotel staff were all helpful and friendly, and bed was quite comfortable. I attend the meeting at the Salt Palace Convention Center in 2012 . The place makes an inexpensive but nice stay. I took a room on the 2nd floor, and it is quite and clean, including a good view of the snow cap and mountains. The people are very nice when I ask for help on directions or calling for a cab. We stayed at the Metropolitan knowing we would not be in the room much. We had a short overnight stay. It was priced MUCH lower than anything else in the area. It is not very fancy, but it was clean and serviceable for what we needed. It was a little dated with no frills, but that suited our needs. The hotel location is convenient for downtown. Many places within walking distance. The room is comfortable. Not many frills. Excellent price if you just need a place to sleep at night. Good value for the money. I would stay there again. Only downside is slow flushing toilets.

Minor dings- hot water took a while to come on in the morning, internet was a bit spotty (though significantly better than at the Salt Palace Convention Center). On the plus side, providing tempurpedic beds for everyone is a great thing- I slept better than I often do when travelling. Recently remodeled, clean, quiet, close to the convention center. Very happily surprised by the quality for the price. Highly recommend the place

The $20.00 deposit I made for possible dammage to the room, would have paid for most of the furnishings! I was seriously scared to shower and felt dirty and uncomfortable. I slept about 6 minutes the whole night. The best part was the 1980 style television with about 11 channels. Oh and don't try to plug in your cell phone, all of the outlets were so […] loose you couldn't get them to hold your charger! This is a hotel you want to stay at if you are not looking for ammenities. The rooms have been remodeled. New temperdic matress, tiled bathroom very clean and comfortable. It is only one room and bath designed for travelers who only want to sleep there and save about $30.00 a night. No microwave or refrigerator and only rolls, fruit and bagels for continental […] breakfast. It met our needs as the bed was great, room very clean in fact cleaner than some of the major hotels in Salt Lake City where we have stayed and paid more per night. We will stay there again. I read a lot of reviews and decided to blow off the ones that were really negative because I wanted the chance to test-drive a Tempurpedic mattress without buying one. I was happy. Not an exciting hotel, but clean and comfortable. Just one night. It felt like a place for younger people because the voices from the parking lot got really loud later in […] the evening. Very good room for the price. Clean, comfortable, and right downtown. I wouldn't spend my honeymoon there, but if your looking for an affordable place to stay this is a good one.

We enjoyed our night's stay at the Metropolitan Inn in Salt Lake City. Certainly not a "luxury" hotel, but clean, very convenient to all downtown locations (plus easy access to the airport) and good quality at a good price.

This place has become my go to hotel, when booking same day! They almost always have a room open, it is generally inexpensive, the room and beds are very comfortable, and the surrounding area is quiet. The staff is friendly, some maybe too friendly. The complimentary breakfast is way better than some of the higher rated hotels I've stayed at, and features […] an abundance of morning snacks, drinks, and bagels! good value

Didn't even unpack the bag. opened the door to the room and one of the beds looked like someone just got out of it. It was a non smoking room that reaked of smoke smell. Wall opposite beds had a nice fist sized hole. Turned around, walked out and booked a room @ Marriott. You definitly get what you pay for.

for the price...it was ok. Good thing I was only staying one night. The Tempur-Pedic mattress was NOT comfortable for me. You sink in and can't really roll...not a big positive for someone with back challenges. Next time I'll spend an extra $20 and upgrade to another hotel. Staff was very helpful!

We were looking for a cost effective room close to the Children's Primary Hospital. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and didn't smell bad like other rooms I have stayed in. It's not the Ritz but I wasn't looking for a fancy hotel. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but that is because I don't care for temperpedic beds. Exceeded my expectations for the price. Clean & comfy room right downtown. Bath & Body work products in the bathroom. Even my 2-year-old was comfortable. I would stay here again.

Great hotel for the price. New furniture. Memory foam mattress. Cool soap.

The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. For the price this hotel was a great find. Its close to downtown and easy to get around.

I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! We checked in on Thursday night. On entering the room, we discovered that the door lock only worked after a lot of messing around. We got it to work, and decided we would change rooms the next day. On Friday, my wife talked to the manager, and he said he would get it taken care of. That night, I dropped […] my wife off and went about my business. My wife went and talked to the night clerk as the lock had not been fixed. The clerk, Dorothy, was VERY apologetic, and gave my wife another room. My wife went up to that room, #209, and guess what? Same problem! Down she went and Dorothy was very apologetic, and gave my wife yet a third room, #303. This is apparently one of their "suites". A very nice room, as long as you don't look at all the patches on the ceiling. We spent the night in that room, nice and secure behind the working lock. Saturday morning, the toilet stopped up. I asked the maid if she had a plunger. Nope! So down to the office I went. I asked the same manager if he had a plunger. He said yes, and wandered off to get it, He came back, and handed me the plunger, stored nicely in it's very own trash can. No offer of sending someone up to get the problem taken care of. Not that big a deal, I'm a big boy. I got the toilet unstopped and returned the plunger to the office. A little while later, the manager shows up at the door of the room, and tells us we are going to have to change rooms as we should have never been given this room to begin with. (unless we wanted to pay the difference). I pointed out that we had already moved rooms 2x before. He shrugged. I said, "fine, we'll just terminate our reservation now and go someplace else". His response? "Ok". (we would have spent only 1 more night there anyway) I cannot say how poorly this place is managed. I wouldn't put the manager in charge of scooper duty at the local dog park.
