L albergo è posizionato perfettamente. Bello, moderno, molto pulito. Unica nota dolente il ristorante. Abbiamo fatto colazione due volte: servizio lento e poco attento, cibo di buona qualità ma troppo costoso. In ogni caso l albergo è veramente di ottimo livello.

L'hotel si trova di fronte a un centro commerciale molto grosso e a metà strada fra Carmel e Monterey nella zona degli alberghi. Buon punto di partenza. Pulito, la colazione molto essenziale viene offerta.

Ho soggiornato in una camera dell'edificio principale. Era molto grande, con balcone sul bosco. Letto king immenso. Una bella sorpresa, dietro la facciata un pò da motel. Zona comodissima per visitare Carmel e la costa verso Big Sur. Nessun servizio di ristorazione però, peccato.

Siamo capitati in un periodo di tempo orribile (pioggia e vento in abbondanza) con discreti problemi anche alla viabilità. Il Sunset Inn ci è apparso come un rifugio tranquillo ed accogliente. La struttura appare simile a tanti motel americani ma con un tocco in più di raffinatezza e cura nei dettagli. La location, poi, è davvero splendida. Da consigliare assolutamente.

Classico Hotel stile americano, ben tenuto e pulito, eccellente colazione continentale con prodotti freschi e di ottima fattura. Comodo per godersi il magnifico panorama offerto da Monterey e la 17 miglia road.

"great location, modest but clean"
We were only here one night, and didn't want to spend too much since we knew we'd be out of the room a lot. The room was very clean, and the bedroom had updated decor. The bathroom was small (only a stall shower) and somewhat dated. Since this is a motel, the window opens to the walkway so it's not really possible to open the curtains and also have […] a moderate amount of privacy. The hotel staff were very friendly and nice. The hotel was in a convenient location, but the hotel staff was consistently rude. The woman we spoke with on the phone to make reservations was insulted that I would even ask for a late checkout (my friend and I were running the Big Sur Marathon in the morning). When we got to the motel and asked the man at the desk where we should park because the […] small underground lot was full, he looked on his monitor and told us that there was one spot available. If we were quick, we could grab it. When we asked him what other options were available, in case someone else got the spot before we did, he sighed heavily, rolled his eyes, and said something like, "Well, if you go now, you might get it, instead of standing here talking about it." We had a good time. It was walking distance to Cannery Row and the staff was very friendly.

Great place to spend the night in downtown Monterey. Not expensive and has everything you need if you are looking for something affordable and at good location. Room was clean, breakfast was fine. BDW the elevator is still taking you to the garage first no matter what you select. But i didn't mind.

"Elevator confused"
Elevator takes you to basement every time you use it. Basement had water seeping from several holes. Not to mention tall SUV's have a had time getting into basement parking garage. Staff is extremely nice though.

Excellant accommodations! Rooms were Super clean! Breakfast was great. Felt like 5 star hotel. You CANNOT beat the price. I highly recommend the Monterey Travel Lodge.
"Friendly place, nicely located."
We arrived late and tired, staff were really friendly and made us very welcome. Gave good directions for food and beers in town, the place is nicely located -- a 10 minute walk covers everywhere you'd need to go. The place could do with a fresh coat of paint maybe, but the price, service and location beat a lot of more expensive places we stayed on […] our trip. If you're looking to spend your time in Monterey in your room, this probably isn't the right place. If you're looking for friendly staff and a great base to explore from, stay here. "Were Expecting Less and Pleasantly Surprised"
having stayed at many lower budget accommodations when booking our recent trip we didn't have any great expectations, esp at the rate we wanted to spend and the date falling on a long weekend. on arrival the exterior of the hotel fell in line with what we were anticipating, however we were pleasantly surprised by the courtesy and efficiency offered […] to us at check-in, and then further pleased with the room itself. while the property is older, the management has taken the time to ensure that the rooms are current, clean, comfortable and pleasant. the bed was heaven and given the temperature bottomed out at 32d that weekend, the heating was excellent. we would happily stay again in the future... We were able to walk to fisherman's wharf, which was a really nice walk with boutiques and nice restaurants along the way. I will def. be staying here again.

The best location for next to nothing. The shower head spins, that was different. But otherwise it is just down the street from downtown and it is beautiful, quaint night life! Particularly convenient if for walking to restaurants, pubs, cafes on Alvarado street. Perfect for a long, very interesting walk to the Aquarium. A non-pretentious, clean, well-run place to stay.

We were looking for something in Monterey for an event and didn't want to spend a lot since we wouldn't be spended our time relaxing at the hotel. It was in a good location for walking downtown Monterey and and easy walk to the warf. The room was tiny and in need of some repairs. "Great Value for the money."
I was in Monterey on business at a hotel a few blocks away. Travel Lodge was very conveniently located, room was clean, service was good and continental breakfast good enough for the price. I would stay there again!
"Monterey Travelodge"
We were there for a quick trip to the aquarium and just needed a place to sleep. This place was cheap and comfortable. The outside is pretty boring but the rooms are all updated nicely and the continental breakfast int he morning was just enough to get us on the road! Highly recommend for a comfortable and cheap stay.

This is a comfortable place to lay your head for a few nights. They offered us a good price in low season. The location is excellent, within walking distance to top attractions in Monterey, including the famous aquarium (a little over a mile away I would guess). Breakfast is basic but enough for simple tastes.

"Convenient location....less than ok"
Outlets in bathroom did not work, the front door had to be slammed shut for it to close, water from shower head barely came through. However, The bed was comfy and it wasn't as noisy as I thought it might be due to the New Years celebration going on.

Great location. Good price. Old construction. (Thin walls, oddly laid-out room.) Noisy. Significant street and nearby-guest noise. Would recommend it for staying in Monterey on budget. But bring ear-plugs.

Convenient location if you can walk a few blocks. Great bargain. Terrific rates for the location. Free parking is a plus. Breakfast was good enough. Room had everthing we needed. Will stay here again.

Before purchasing a room for 2 nights, we noticed that the overall rating on the Travelodge was 4 out of 5 stars. This was great! The Price was right and knowing that others were pleased with their stay was helpful and pretty much the determining factor in our decision to stay there. Unfortunately, when I logged in to check our information online just […] a month later the rating had fallen to 2 out of 5 stars. I was concerned and apprehensive. Turns out that we had a good stay. The staff was very friendly, the beds are extremely comfortable, and this place worked perfectly for what we needed: a place to sleep comfortably and shower. Great location but it also means a lot of noise, especially considering the Chevron station right in front of it. The towels were tiny and a bit dingy looking. Shower head really low, shower itself was odd/outdated. Walls b/w rooms are very thin-we could hear other guests conversations. The building itself needs to be renovated-the parking garage felt […] a little sketchy. From the reviews I had read, I expected more from this hotel. On the other hand, the rooms had flat screens, beds were very comfortable and the staff were very cordial and helpful. "Good location - Near By Everything"
Good location for anything in Monterey or surrounded area like Carmel, Seaside, Marina. Walking distance to a few Cafe, Bakery and Resturant. Close by to Monterey Cannery Row and Monterey Fisherman Wharf. The only problem I have with this hotels is. Is that you have to slam your door pretty hard to get it lock. So you can hear your neighbors. All in […] all it pretty good hotels to stay in. You get free breakfast. That the best part. Sorry no ocean view. Only a gas station and Dennis Restaurant. "Walking Distance to Downtown Attractions"
Great value accommodation. While the building is obviously a little older, rooms seemed recently remodeled. We were within a few minutes walk to many downtown restaurants - about 10-15 minutes walk to fisherman's warf. The transit depot is about 2 blocks away and from there you can catch the shuttle around town, to aquarium, cannery row, etc.

"Over-priced and chosen solely for its location"
If the motel had paid a little bit of extra cash to invest in some curtains that actually covered the entire content of my room to the outside world, that would have been nice. Light from the parking lot/gas station streamed in through the virtually curtain-less window, keeping me up. The walls are incredibly thin so that noise from the outside parking […] lot and next door neighbor's music device also did not help my sleep schedule. The bed, while Queen-sized, was not soft. "Plenty of bang for the buck"
We are not well-traveled. We are not hotel experts. We wanted something simple. A place to sleep in between adventures to Monterey. We got a lot more. Clean, comfortable room. Walking distance to the Trolley (free during summer). We even walked from Fisherman's Wharf to the hotel though it was a bit tiring and we suggest taking the trolley. Pros: Clean, […] great location, pretty good continental breakfast (muffins, cereal, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs, milk, coffee, juice), Fridge and haridryer in room, no traffic noise in the room, close to places to eat. Cons: Walls a little thin - not bad, not a ton of parking upstairs - but have underground, not very spacious shower - no big deal, they did not leave a million dollars under the pillow - darn. Definitely recommend for folks on a budget. Might be different if you expect hotel to be part of the goods of a vacation. For us, it was an accessory to vacation. Hope this helps. Continua a leggere
"Great location and great price"
We were traveling with another family and requested to get rooms next to eachother. The management gave us adjoining rooms. It really made our stay that much more enjoyable. The location of the hotel is great, only minutes to Dennis the Menace park, the Aquarium and Cannery row. The breakfast in the morning was really good, more than just your average […] motel continental breakfast. We were also please that they have a private parking garage for guests. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in Monterey. We will definitely stay here again, especially since the price is reasonable and I felt I got more than if I would have stayed at one of the more expensive hotels. Continua a leggere

My family and I have been to Monterey many times but this is the first time staying at the Travelodge Downtown. Great place, nice, friendly, accommodating staff and walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf. Would definitely stay again!
Seemed pretty clean. Nice staff the times we spoke with them. Nice to have free wi-fi in room. Conveniently located right off freeway... Easy to find. Only thing that was a bit disappointing was the shower was designed for someone 3 foot 2. Also the parking lot was crammed and small. This hotel isn't new but well maintain, the good things: The windows open!, the bed was so comfortable, No fridge in the room to disconnect, no microwave yupiii, we had a nice clean comfortable room, walking distance to coffee shopes (our favorite passtime), down town, the trolley that takes you to Canary drive and the aquarium, so we parked the car […] the whole time we were there, all the restaurants around the hotel were very nice. "OK"
You need to arrive early to get room for your car in the parking garage. They do not have enough place so all guests can park at the hotel. The rooms are OK. The breakfast was on minimum level... So: Overall fair enough if you just need a place to sleep and then move one the next morning...
