Good hotel near Beijing Capital airport. Large and clean room. Friendly staff, but not so good english speaking. The only thing that definitely needs an improvement is the free shuttle bus to the airport: old little bus and a frequency not satisfactory (one bus every hour).

"Pleasant and convenient"
Surprisingly nice hotel, more upmarket than I expected for the price. Just 5 minutes walk puts you in the main shopping area of Beijing, with restaurants galore, plenty of upmarket malls and a reasonable tourist market down the narrow side streets. Tianamen Square is a 25 minute walk, as is the Forbidden Palace. The Summer Palace and hutongs are 25 […] minutes walk in the opposite direction. This was a very nice hotel with a very well-trained staff. Most of the staff speak English and they were always eager to please. "Spend the Extra Money and Stay Someplace Else"
This hotel may have been fine 20-30 years ok but it is definitely showing it's age. I booked a suite and while the size of the room was nice - the carpet was frayed and pulling up where it met the tile for the bathroom and the front door stuck and had to be pulled hard to get it to close. The bathroom sink was a bit dirty and drained very slowly. The […] light on our phone was blinking to indicate we had a message but when following the instructions to retrieve the message it did not work. We called the front desk to inquire about this and with their limited English they were unable to figure it out. They sent housekeping to the room to assist and they couldn't figure it out either and just called the front desk. We ended up living with the blinking (and beeping) phone for the weekend. The entire hotel smells like smoke so if you are sensitive to this it would be a big problem. Our room was at the far end next to the exit stairwell. We went through the door to use the stairs and it was locked. Not a comforting thought if there was a fire. The walk to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square is long but doable and traveling through the Wangfujing area of shops and restaurants is nice. Bottom line for the price I paid I would spent a bit more and stay someplace else next time. Continua a leggereRecensioni obiettive degli ospiti Expedia
"Not quite as expected."
I was not very happy with the hotel when I first arrived. It really wasn't anything like the pictures, but I should have known. When I booked, it said it had complimentary breakfast and complimentary broadband internet. It even said that there would be a complimentary welcome fruit basket. None of the above was true. There was no wi-fi. I was very disappointed […] at this because we relied heavily on wifi (like oasis) to plan our upcoming trips. There was no fruit basket, but that's okay. As for the breakfast, I even went down to the restaurant the evening before, and asked them to make sure that this was the place where they would have breakfast buffets, and also asked them whether it is free. They didn't speak the best English, but they reassured me that it was free. The next morning we went down, told them our room number, and digged in only to find out minutes later that the breakfast is not included in our room fee and that we must pay. It wasn't outrageously expensive, but it was not a welcoming and a pleasant feeling. Even the cheapest hotels have complimentary breakfast, but this fancy hotel didn't. The only thing I was happy about this hotel was the kindness of the worker (I don't know what they're called--those dressed nice and stand outside the lobby to help with luggage) who walked all the way out to the street and grabbed a taxi for us. "Free internet is a hoax"
We had booked a room as a 'hot deal', a superior room with free internet, said the confirmation. Upon arrival the hotel tried to deny this. I showed them the printed confirmation and then was told we had to pay a hefty amount per day to use the desktop in the room. Or we could plug in our own device. Since I had an iPad, i had to come down to the lobby […] to check my email on the wifi down there. When are luxury hotels going to realise they have to stop trying to make money out of internet services? It is mean, when I know that all over the world budget hotels and youth hotels offer wifi in their whole building for free. Secondly don't use the safe. The staff are not careful with the emergency unlocking code, which we needed. Otherwise a good hotel with nice gym, pool and breakfast. Continua a leggereRecensioni obiettive Hotels.com
"Fine but faded"
Location is good and the hotel probably was good at some point but it's faded. Rooms were very large, which was nice but our on-smoking room smelled heavily of smoke, there were stains on walls and around bed; breakfast was reasonably priced and fine, but not great. You can walk to subway, art museum, wanfujing pedestrian street and night market and […] longish walk to forbidden city - you might want to check out the Crowne Plaza down the street if you want a bit more of a western feel - it looked pretty good from the lobby. "3 days in Beijing - Bad Hotels.com map"
Trip was a busines trip with a little time for sight seeing. Overall hotel was very adequate. The front desk personel were very helpful and spoke excelent English. The main floor restaraunt had a good and reasonable buffet for breakfast and dinner. There were good western choices in addition to the Chinese. Avoid the second floor Chinese restarunt unless […] you are very familiar with local food. The servers had very little English and ordering from the menu pictures was difficult. Prices were expensive. Worst part of the experience was finding the hotel. Coming from the airport no one knew where the hotel was. I had printed out the Hotels.com description with the addres and the map from your web site. The map was wrong! My cab driver got lost twice. It took almost two hours and the cab driver calling the hotel for what should have been a 45 miuite trip. Hotels.com should have a print out with address and phone # in the local language and an accurate map to hand a cab driver. This was my first trip to Beijing and I had no knowledge of the city or the language. Continua a leggereRecensioni obiettive Hotels.com

Stayed here for one night before flying back to UK. Great location for Forbidden City etc and especially for Wangfujing shopping. Room and service was great. "American equivalent of a 3.5 Star"
I was pretty happy with the hotel. While not everyone spoke English they would find you someone who could. The rooms were nice and clean. The one complaint I have was there the rooms did smell like they had a very minimal smokey smell. I think these rooms were smoking maybe 2-3 years ago. I am ultra sensitive to this & my sister noticed it to but my […] mom on the other hand did not notice any smoke smell. So just an FYI, if you are super sensitive. I felt very safe in the hotel and the neighborhood. If you are veggie there was an excellent veggie restaurant close by which was great for me. There is also a huge American style mall 8 min away. The forbidden palace was about a 35 min walk from the hotel. The hotel is about 1 hour away from the airport. Do not get screwed like I did. It should cost ~100 Yuan to get from the airport to the hotel. Learn from my mistakes. For comparison, I would rate this as above a Hampton Inn but below a Doubletree. Breakfast was kinda expensive at $15 USD and there are plenty of places close where you can get a much cheaper meal. All in all pretty happy with my experience and would stay here again. Oh yeah forgot to mention that there is free internet but you have to pull out the cat5 from the room computer and put it into yours. Not a huge deal by any means but NO wireless. Traditional, locally run high quality hotel. Within easy walking distance of main shopping street in Beijing. Very impressed with the ease of booking and knowing that it is all paid before you travel. Watch out for high prices of Evian water. We chose this hotel from the many around Wangfujing because it had a pool, but we never ended up using it. (Cap required, and it was a little small.) Situate at Wangfujing, Prime Hotel is near to where the vibe is and where the sites are. Though staff's English could be improved, they did try very hard and are enabled to show us around. The rooms in this hotel are very comfortable, the shower was excellent and the breakfast good quality. However, we had to pay extra for it. All in all a good experience. Excellent service by staff. The rooms were spacious and clean. The food in the hotel started out bad, but after commenting […] on it, they made a big effort to improve on quality and variety. This service approach commendable. "Shame about poor management"
I stayed at this hotel due to its location. I was travelling with two kids, so decided to splash out on a club room. Despite notifying the hotel ahead of time that an extra bed was required, the room had none. In fact, the club room was so small it could not fit an extra bed, so we had to move down to an ordinary room which was bigger (no perceptible […] difference in style either). Despite not having a club room anymore (prepaid) the hotel had the cheek to charge extra for the spare bed. At breakfast the next day, they said my nine year old daughter should pay fro breakfast because she was as tall as the waitress (my daughter is not tall, the waitress was small). Aside from the lack of any appology by management, I would point out that the restraunt on the 2nd floor is supurb and well worth dining in. The rest of the staff are friendly and fairly efficient. "excellent value, great location"
The hotel was located very centrally on wangfujing shopping street about 20mins walk from the northern gate of the forbidden city. We discovered when we arrived in Beijing that everything in Beijing is actually really spaced out so we were relieved that we had made the choice to stay in this area. The service was good, the desk staff spoke English. […] The only issue with maintenance was that the shower didn't drain properly in the cubicle shower so would have caused a flood if we actually tried to use this. (There was another shower over the bath though which worked fine). The hotel was very clean and of a good standard overall. We ate at the buffet restaurant in the hotel. Wouldn't recommend this. Relatively expensive and a lot of the food was cold. You can get far better Chinese food outside of China. Continua a leggereRecensioni obiettive degli ospiti Expedia
"good hotel, but..."
The prime hotel is located fairly well, but not in the best possible place. it is about 10-15 minutes walk from the main part of Wangfujing street, just on the most northern point of the street, which means every time you want to get anywhere you have take that walk. The immidiate surrounding is useless (unless you like buying books - then there's Sanlian […] book store and others very close). While the stuff is mostly very nice, helpful, and friendly (and knows English), one of the main problems I have with the hotel is that is stinks of cigarette smoke. I had a non-smoking room, and it still stank. Since many Chinese guests in the hotel smoke anyway - the smoke goes through the ventilation. I also had a problem with the internet in the room - it is not wireless, but with cable. So although it was free, half the time I could not connect. In the lobby there is WIFI, but weak signal and no where you can sit quitely and work. Despite these drawbacks, the room was very comfortable and clean, big enough, and overall quite, so for the price they charged it was ok. Continua a leggereRecensioni obiettive degli ospiti Expedia
