High class hotel at a very reasonable price. Room was high class from the decor to the in-room coffee. I will stay here again for sure.

Had a decent stay here, staff were friendly & courteous. Room was clean & tidy, a particularly good shower. No complaints whatsoever.

Pros- Cookie, Nice exterior/ Interior, friendly customer service, confortable beds, coffee/tea station Wolf gang puck products, great. Great location to downtown Pasadena. Easy access to freeway 210. Would recommend getting the large king rooms, as they seem to have more light and have a refrigerator,mirco, two couches and more space. Newspaper at your […] door in the morning. Nice flat screen tv. Resturants all around, easy parking. Cons- One knock and not enough time to walk to the door, maid service walked into my room, while i was laying in bed one morning. Very irriatating! Extremely low lighting in room with double beds. Air conditioner stopped working after day two (the rooms get very stuffy at night), very low lighting through out the hallways. Well done every time I stay there. I will be back again. The only improvement needed is that they need to expand their channels offered. Where is golf channel?

My stay at the Double Tree at Monrovia, Ca. was less than satisfactory. Since I am employed by a major Oil & Gas company, our focus is on safety, on & off the job. To that focus, I found the following to be safety hazards: 1. The shower floor was extremely slippery. I reported this to the management and was told they didn't have mats and by their attitude, […] they weren't getting any mats. The possibility of slipping and causing considerable injury is prominent. 2. There is a electrical connection on a shelf below where the TV is mounted. I found the one in my room not screwed into the wood and when I attempted to remove the charger from the socket, the whole connection came out. I also reported this to management, but it was not corrected after 5 days stay. I am recommending that my company advise other employees to exercise caution before booking a room there. My apologies, but the cavalier attitude shown by the management, showed me that safety was not high up on their priorities. Continua a leggere

Nice hotel near Pasadena. Great service, clean and modern rooms.

A/C unit rattled loudly all night. Lighting was poor. Shower was bizarre.

Very nice, safe location, could walk to many eateries, easy parking, easy on and off the 210. Employees were very nice, gave you cookies when checking in and out. Room was large. Had a great view. Very quite any time off the day.

Upon arrival, the staff kept insisting we check in with 2 separate IDs and credit cards although we booked the 2 rooms together online. We had also requested the 2 rooms be close to each other, which was a request that fell on deaf ears. Last week a horrendous windstorm hit Arcadia and the surrounding areas of Los Angeles and there were few options for staying in a place that had electricity. We froze in darkness at home for the first 2 days, then caved for hotel stays the next 2. The Doubletree Hotel was being run on generators, so there were a few missing amenities; no heat/air, no […] food in the hotel at all and WiFi/internet connectivity was down until morning. I wish they had told us all this upon booking/checking in instead of us finding out later), but overall, they did a good job of carrying the load of the local refugees that descended upon them. The room was warm enough and we had light and electricity. Amazing how much you miss those when they're suddenly gone for several days. Front desk phone response was sparse and slow, but they get a pass due to the emergency weather circumstances. Their security response to a (non-hotel-related) troubling and frightening incident in the room next door was VERY fast. The bed, though quite low, was commmmmmmmmmmmfy! So comfortable, I'm heading out for a pillow-top mattress this afternoon. There was a nice little fridge for our sodas and water, decent Wolfgang Puck coffee for a hotel room, and good water pressure, though do be careful with the modern bathroom sink. It's got a shallow square basin with a faucet that, if on at even 3/4 pressure, will spray your lap down but good. The room was very nice--attractive and comfortable. The bathroom sink was difficult--especially the faucet--too high above the sink so splattered water all over when I turned it on and was very hard to adjust--cold to hot and small stream and bigger stream. Also needed a place to hang used towells if you want us to use them more than once which we were […] happy to do. Also, the bedside lamps were hard to adjust to light my book. The room was clean and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower left a lot to be desired, as in, more water quickly please. There was no gift shop, so that was an inconvenience.

Overall hotel was nice, but housekeeping service was poor. My room was not cleaned. When asked why it had not been cleaned when I returned in the evening, I was told it must have been an oversight. After a hot long day of work, I was looking forward to a relaxing moment by the pool. It is a nice set up, with cabanas and comfortable furniture... BUT, no towels at all. I asked TWICE for a towel to employees walking by, and still...no towel. They have a basket for used towels though (??). We had a wonderful stay. we were there for a wedding/reception, which was held at the hotel. The only thing I noticed was that the hotel windows needed to be washed (a 4 for hotel condition). This is a very good hotel. There was a safety issue that I reported in that the deck around the pool area was exceedingly slippery and three of us went down with the slightest amount of moisture on the bottom of the footwear. The staff were very kind and helpful.

The bathroom had about 20 flying bugs, I don't know how they get there and I managed to kill some of them. The air-conditioner is noisy during auto turn on/off condition. It made me hard to sleep at night. Staffs are nice and the rest are all fine.

I make frequent weekend trips to Calif. (LA area) I stay in Doubletree's quite often. This is the first time trying Monrovia. I was very impressed with the facility especially for the price. I believe it was recently remodeled and they did a great job with this hotel. It is very modern in it's style and amenities. Both my girlfriend and I slept very […] well. It has a multitude of dining options available within walking distance and sits right off the 210 so you have access to the rest the LA metro area fairly quickly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The size of the room was nice...I'm not too sure about the sliding bathroom door. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this hotel.

Was an older hotel that looked like it had a facelift to make it appear prettier. While the room and bath were clean, the bathroom had a sour washcloth sort of smell. Not overbearing, but noticable. I had an even room, which faced east. When the sun came up, the room was very warm and the air conditioner could not keep up. The bed was way too low and the air conditioner way too loud. We were there for a conference in Pasadena and everything was booked in Pasadena. This location was convenient - not too far from the main Pasadena happenings. The room was awkward. As mentioned, the bed was way too low. The decor was odd and the room had a small closet. The flat screen t.v. […] was too small for the room. There were quite a few restaurants near the hotel. We went to Goldsteins on Santa Anita Avenue for breakfast since the hotel had complimentary nothing for breakfast. The beds were comfortable and the all slate shower was a nice treat. They, of course, are known for their cookies and it's much nicer to get then a mint on my pillow. Their pool area was very comfortable with a nice water feature that is also a fire pit at night and walking barefoot in from the pool, the padded hallways felt great under my feet. Only […] thing that could have been improved was the lack of lighting in the room at night (none of the lights provided really lite up the room) and the internet was a little slow for my taste. I booked this hotel without knowing the comfort and modern look of their rooms. I was impressed with the looks of the room, the comfort of the bed and the luxurious bathroom. Bathrobes were a nice touch too. I would definitely stay again. Price was very good for what they offered.

The rooms are clean and the staff is fairly nice. Would stay again. My only trouble is that most of the hotel seems dark or dimly lit. Other than that, great hotel.

I work at the Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire which happens for two months every summer. For the last couple of years, one of the singing groups there has held their after hours concert at this Doubletree conveniently located a short trip down the freeway from the faire. The bar the hotel provides for the event is a bit pricey but the […] pool area (where they've been doing the concert) is lovely and has comfortable. This year, I got myself a room at the hotel so I could stay later and still get back to the faire the next morning in time for call. I've been traveling a lot for business lately and I have to say that the double I got was one of the nicest rooms I've ever had at that price point. It was very modern and stylish looking, on top of being comfortable. Everything was very well maintained. There were a few problems: My roommate didn't like that the beds were lower to the floor then you normally find. (But they are very cushy once you're in them.) I found the sliding door to the bathroom to be kind of awkward (and also a bit too noisy to try and close while roommates were sleeping). The staff was very welcoming and helpful (they also had a free shuttle to and from the Renaissance Faire that guests could sign up for), parking is free as well as wireless internet access all over the hotel. Add in those warm Doubletree cookies you get when you check in and I'm seriously considering staying there every weekend during faire from now on. Continua a leggere

they made it seem like you were in control of the heating/aircontioning, but you really weren't. it always said it was 68 degrees, even when the heat was pouring into the room in the morning. it was too hot to sleep well during the night, and you couldn't change anything. they turned off the air during the night, which was very upsetting.in the morning […] after your shower, you started sweating immediately. Hotel with great design, features, maintenance and service. I will use it again in the future.

The room was very modern and inviting. Room service was great! The pool area with the fireplace waterfall was the best!! Within 3 miles of my client... and several dining locations nearby. Would most certainly stay here again.. and recommend to others!

the lobby was nothing special, but the room was very modern in design. best of all the bed was comfortable and there was a flat screen tv. the service was wonderful. we asked for a refrigerator which took time to deliver. in the meantime, the concierge took our items to the employee lounge. we will return...

Overall it was a great Valentines stay at the Double tree. It was clean and nice to stay at.

The hotel is beautiful. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights and our experience was exceptional. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. The complimentary breakfast offered delicious food: scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon/sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, hot oatmeal. The room was great. Our room was basically a studio--with no wall or door separating the bathroom. Just curtains. Fine if you're traveling solo, but not so good for 3 nights as a couple.
